Thank you for considering ‘The Bluestem Bungalow’! We'd love the chance to host your group. It is our goal to provide you the comforts of home when you’re away from your own.

Country Charm abounds in this cozy little postcard cottage. What you’ll find here is a peaceful, rural setting that’s close to everything! Easily accessible, the Bluestem Bungalow is 5 minutes from Lawrence (& the K10 Hwy Haskel Exchange) on well-maintained, hard-top County roads. Our home is a convenient escape from the hectic city without forgoing those 'in-town' amenities we all love. With 3 BR, 3 full baths, two family room areas equipped with large screen TVs, laundry facilities, a full kitchen, an inviting front porch with sitting areas and plenty of green space, there is ample room to spread-out and enjoy any downtime you may have when visiting Northeast Kansas. We live in a rural setting with homes on several acres each. We do have neighbors on all sides, though tree lines provide added privacy so you don’t have that ‘fishbowl’ feeling. We’re sure you will enjoy the solitude of this lovely setting, as well as any interactions with the friendly folks who also call our area home. (Good neighbors are good to have!)

All the linens and towels provided are high-quality and are washed & sanitized prior to each new stay. The king bed is a Tempur-Pedic mattress with a thick memory foam topper and overstuffed pillow topper as well. In fact, we find all the beds are super comfy, as we believe that without a good night’s rest, nothing else matters! We’ve even added memory foam toppers to the kid bunk beds. Let our resident owl lull you to sleep with his night song as you snuggle deep into the soft cloud toppers on all our beds. We hope you will find rest and respite from the outside world in our little sanctuary.

We could not have asked for a more attentive, service oriented host! Janet & Allen went out of their way to ensure we had everything needed for a memorable time with our family as we celebrated our niece's graduation from KU (just a quick drive away). Our home away from home was peaceful, cozy, very well-stocked, and filled with special touches. The house was even beautifully decorated for the holiday. We look forward to coming back! From our family to yours...thank you!The Matese Family

Absolutely amazing!!!! The host is a very good communicator besides being a kind and generous person. The house was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, and lacking in nothing!!! My daughter and I traveled with my friend, her husband and their 3 kids. The kids loved the basement and the big yard!!! So many memories were made and it was probably the best rental we have ever stayed in! Don’t hesitate to book this one!

We had a great visit in Lawrence for KU family weekend. Allen and Janet were very accommodating, we were able to make our daughter some of her favorite meals. The house was very clean and so comfy. It was nice to be outside of town a bit for the extra relaxing vibe.

Great property that is close enough to Lawrence to be convenient, but you feel like you’re getting away from everything too. Everything is well thought out and easy at this property. Very welcoming, comfortable and clean.

Wow! I have stayed at many VRBO‘s in the past, and many, which were excellent. This stay topped all of them. The house is extremely clean, and well kept. It was a very cozy, and comfortable. You felt like you could just relax. I was here with my daughter and three of her teammates, and I felt like they were just ready to move in. The hosts were absolutely wonderful to communicate with. If you are ever staying in Lawrence, Kansas, or anywhere around, I would strongly suggest this as a home away from home!

This property was immaculate! The landscaping, cleanliness, design was perfect! A back yard fire pit, zero noise other than Mother Nature (didn’t mention how clean the inside is?) made this stay a perfect stay. Hosts reached out early and made sure we had what we needed. Highly recommended
