Rural Cambria Getaway. The Big House at Stepladder Ranch & Creamery

The property is beautifully maintained, very well outfitted for a large group. Our group of 11 had plenty of space to spread out. Those that wanted quiet could find it and those that wanted to watch football and play pool had space to do that. The kitchen is a dream, with tons of space with two fridges, two dishwashers, and a large stove. The view is stunning and it’s so quiet!

Thank you for the opportunity to stay at the Big House in Cambria. It was a beautiful and inviting home—comfortable in every way, and perfect for the whole family. The game room was a big hit, and the stunning views from nearly every angle made it even more special.We spent Father’s Day morning in town enjoying breakfast and a walk along the beach, then returned for cheeseburgers and a relaxing afternoon exploring and unwinding. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, the AC kept us cool during the warmer parts of the day, and the ocean breeze through the open windows made the evenings just right.One of the highlights was capturing last night’s sunset photo together—a memory we’ll cherish for years to come. We’re already looking forward to returning and are very interested in exploring your other properties in the area. Living just down the road in Orcutt, this quick getaway was exactly what our family needed to reconnect.Thank you again for the warm and memorable stay!

We celebrated my 60th birthday, and my mother's 85th birthday at Stepladder Ranch. The accommodations were excellent, and the property and views were awesome. We had a blast, and we hope to return for another special occasion sometime soon. The communication with the property management was spot on also.

This house sits amidst an incredibly beautiful natural setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean to the West and the Santa Lucia coastal range to the East. Wildlife and wildflowers are plentiful. Fantastic sunsets. Endless stargazing. A kitchen that is capable of feeding a small army.

Wonderful property for 10 family members spanning three generations. Love the location and large kitchen/dining area. This is all on one floor which was helpful for Mom, who is on a walker. A sign at the ranch would have been helpful to find the right road up to the property. Loved the three sinks, two dishwashers, two ovens and two refrigerators. Great for big family meals. The only thing that could be improved is to include a complimentary tasting of the Stepladder cheese, or tour of the creamery. As it was we had to buy the local cheese in a Cambria store. The views are lovely, and the bonus game room was fun too. Thanks for a great week.

We were a group of 15 from all over the country, including 8 adults and 7 granddaughters aged 14-24. We have stayed in many VRBO properties for our reunions but all agreed this was pretty special. The central coast of CA is just plain gorgeous, and we got to enjoy the views and sunshine and access to the coast, with Hearst Castle, Cambria and San Luis Obispo close by. The house has AMAZING views - morning fogs, beautiful sunny days, gorgeous sunsets, unbelievable stars. We were on the patio as much as possible. The indoor common areas were wonderful - the kitchen is exactly what you want for 15 people. We could all be in one place but it didn’t feel crowded. The house was clean and comfortable and modern - we were able to do a little laundry when needed, and never missed AC or cell service (the WIFI was great). We loved being on a working farm - the cows were hilarious companions. Much commentary on the road in other reviews. To get to those views, it is a bit of a drive up - but if you go slowly, it wasn’t dangerous, just feels dramatic to us city folk, perhaps? Otherwise, we really loved our stay and felt like the management team was helpful and very communicative.

The minute we stepped into the property our shoulders relaxed and we honestly never wanted to leave. We brought up all our groceries for our family and did not leave for the first three days of our stay! The sunsets are breathtaking and the morning sounds of cows mooing was a delight. The game room kept everyone happy. We hope to stay here again in the future. Also highly recommend the creamery tour ( need reservations)...the goats brought smiles out of all of us and the cheese is amazing to take back and drink a bottle of rose. Thank you for the honestly best 5 full days of family time and memories that were made.

Awesome place. Loved all the rain and fog and little critters that came out. Loved all the nosey cows. Kids loved the game room. We loved the space. It was a great time.

Stepladder ranch is amazing and the big house is large enough for a family of 16+ lots of open space room to play games run around huge kitchen. Our only biggest complaint the whole time was that there were only seven forks in the entire home and after we checked out they brought an abundance of forks but during the stay they did not bring any forks which was frustrating but beyond that the house is great location is super fun. The video of the home showed a hot tub so we all brought suits to go in the hot tub and there was no hot tub.
