This property was ideal for 9 of us. Bedrooms are a good size with the Master being very spacious. The two full baths are spacious and up to date. Spacious and updated kitchen. For our stay the key was the finished basement with the TV and pool table which provided hour of entertainment for the kids. A good neighborhood for walking the dog a little less than a mile from downtown Royal Oak. We had a few questions leading up to, and during our stay and Matt was very responsive. We would definitely seek to stay here again on our next trip to the Detroit area.

We rented this property because we hosted Christmas for my husband's family and the only member of the family who lives in the area lives in an assisted living facility. We had several family members coming in from out of town so the fact this house held 10 sleeping persons comfortably and accepted dogs were the main selling points. The host, Matt, was very communicative and responded fairly quickly to texts when we had concerns. He even went above and beyond when we discovered that 3/4 of the pool cues had no tips on them. He had 4 new cues and replacement tips shipped overnight and my boys were thrilled! There were a few minor things that with some tweaks (which I've mentioned to the host) would make this property perfect. The pictures of the property are pretty accurate (some accessories and such are different but nothing that takes away from the functionality of the property) however, there was obvious brightness editing done. The house is overall darker than the photos even in sunlight- especially the living room. The kitchen was lacking in kitchen tools, dishes, and cutlery for a house designed to hold 10 people. We went out and bought some kitchen tools (which we took home with us) and used mostly paper plates, bowls, and plastic ware. The internet was a little finicky but will probably be fine after a firmware update.Overall the location and house were great and we'd definitely stay with Willow Dwellings again.

We came in town for my godson's birthday to catch a Pistons and Lions game so we needed a place for an extended time period. This was my first trip to Detroit so I was cautiously looking for a nice rental in a good neighborhood given that parts of Detroit can be rough. This property was located in a very nice location and I never felt unsafe. The property itself was exactly as advertised. The pool table was a bonus but there was only one pool stick that was usable (the other ones were damaged - lost their tips already). The property is centrally located to most things so it didn't take long to get anywhere. I'd stay here again!

Host is exceptional communicator. House was spotless and very comfortable. Checking in was smooth and exactly as described. Location between Detroit and Cranbrook Art Community was great with good roads between. Numerous restaurants gave us a lot of choice. Neighborhood was quiet and easy to get around.

I can't say that I've ever had a bad experience with VRBO but our stay in Royal Oak has been by far the best. It started before we even arrived with Matt's Guidebook - a great little extra highlighting local shopping, restaurants, activities and other points of interest. Our niece and her family joined us on vacation for a total of 10 - 4 adults and our combined 6 children between the ages of 2 and 19 and the house was as close to perfect as could be - nice big dining room table for meals and games, and family room downstairs for the little kids to watch movies or burn off some energy and bed and bathrooms on the first and second levels to give everyone a little space from each other when needed. Additionally, the house is nicely decorated, was clean, and the beds/bedding and furniture were very comfortable. Communication was great as well. We truly had a great stay!

Matt is a great host and his property is well cared for with all the necessary amenities for a stay away from home. Plenty of space for the seven of us. The kitchen and bathrooms are updated and the five bedrooms are crisp and clean. My wife loved the decor, my mother enjoyed the front porch and quiet neighborhood for reading in the morning and the kids appreciated the multiple smart TVs. The location is great - very close access to 75 but peaceful when you are actually at the property. Royal Oak has great restaurants and coffee shops just a few minutes away. Would happily stay again!

The 5 bedroom was perfect for our family, a senior couple, a 50ish son, a 40ish son & a 21 yr old grandson. The place is great for seniors--only a few steps, a comfort height toilet, and a walk-in shower. The neighborhood was very safe, with single women walking and running by themselves & children playing outside, and with your vehicle parked right outside in the driveway. There was comfortable seating for 6 in the living room, and 4 chairs + a long bench in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and had 4 pillows on a bed. The bathroom downstairs was nice. The kitchen was small with few, but adequate cabinets. The kitchen had extra supplies like oil and some spices and lots of coffee pods. There were plenty of things like tissues. And, we were happy to see that there was shampoo & conditioner in both bathrooms, which was a plus. We would have liked a 10 or 12 skillet and more coffee cups, but otherwise the kitchen was very good with a huge refrigerator. My tall sons said the upstairs bedrooms had low ceilings for a tall person, but they were still happy with them. The A/C worked perfectly and we had no problems while we were there. I would give it a perfect rating except I thought it could have been a tad cleaner. It was fine, but not quite perfect and it had a # of places on doors & walls that need paint re-touching. It didn't affect our stay, but if you are really picky, you might not be happy. That said, I would not hesitate to stay their again.
