Rose Lake Retreat | Great Lake Views with Spa Pool

Stunning interior and great amenities (Seasonal Tip included) ​Pros: ​Beautiful Decor: The house is full of character with a retro, artistic interior. ​Great Amenities: The hot spa pool was a highlight, and having 2 bathrooms made our stay much more comfortable. ​Well-equipped: The house has everything you need for a relaxing stay. ​Cons / Caution: ​Lake Fly Swarms: Do your best to avoid staying here during peak lake fly season. We made the mistake of using our phone flashlights while looking for the key at night and were completely surrounded by hundreds of flies in seconds. ​Final Verdict: A great, high-quality stay. Just be mindful of the local environment and keep the lights dim when coming home at night!

Great spacious accommodation with plenty of room for 5. Loved the kayaking on the lake and the hot tub. The location was perfect and close to all the main attractions that Rotorua has to offer.

Good communication, clean house and hot tub, quiet neighbourhood with takeaways and a small supermarket a short walk away. Fully fenced which is dog-proof for even small dogs.Lovely little garden, the feijoa tree was full of fruit.During our stay I reported a bathroom window not closing properly, which resulted in midges flying in; and a ceiling leak, but they were not majorly affecting our stay.

Great house for the family stay. Kayaks and spa were both a fantastic bonus. Recommended if you’re coming to Rotorua with a family.

Amazing stay in a beautiful home. Loved being so close to the lake and going for sunrise kayaks.

Excellent spot for our family from Canada to gather from overseas before we went out separate ways. Had everything we needed, comfy beds and a nice quiet locale at night.

Suited our family group well. Managed to park 3 cars, a boat and a trailer in the driveway. Was a good central location for getting to town and out to the lakes. Lovely private garden.

House was spotless, instructions were clear, garden was lovely, well maintained and dog proof. The spa was much appreciated.View of the lake and proximity to town was great as were the quiet neighbours.

Communication with our host was great and self check-in allowed us to check-in when we got to the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the house felt very homely and catered to all our needs during our stay. The beds were comfortable with the electric blankets providing added warmth and comfort after outings.

The house is spacious; garden gorgeous. Well positioned for CBD and activities. House is dated but clean and has everything you will need. Beds are very comfortable.

Everything we needed was available and we were all very comfortable here. A lot of room for everyone. Only complaint we had was the washing machine doesn't work well. We laundered our hiking clothes and it didn't get clean. Found a laundromat nearby.

Beautiful views, quite, cozy wonderful

Great location 5-10 minutes by car from Eat Street/downtown Rotorua. Nice to have a lake view especially late at night and first thing in the morning. Unfortunately the grassed reserve in front of the lake is covered in doggy doos - not impressed with the local dog owners.... The house is comfortable with a great garden and lawn - beds are comfortable and the environs are quiet. House as such is 40 odd years old and the styling reflects this. Nevertheless it's a suitable home to rent and has everything one needs for a short or long stay.

Very well suited for our needs

We loved our stay at this property. The location is convenient to all tourist spots. The yard is beautiful and the lake is just at the edge of your yard. We loved the charm of the house, it's like stepping into another decade. The beds were comfortable and there was so much space to spread out. One night we lit a fire and the hot tub was also a nice touch at the end of a long day. If we have any critique it would be that there isn't a dryer for your laundry so you need to plan for a sunny day to let your clothes dry. Also the couches are pretty worn out and not very comfortable. We stayed at some very nice homes during our two weeks in NZ and this house was our favorite. Would definitely stay there again!

The house has everything you need. The house itself is older but it’s clean and big. Great for families or groups. The view of the lake is magic and there is access to the lake from the property. Although I didn’t use them, there are kayaks available to use, too. I recommend this property and will stay again.

Very convenient and comfortable stay. The beds are comfy, the house is warm with a fire we enjoyed and electric blankets on the beds. Only 5-10 mins an away from the CBD and local activities. Highly recommend 😊
