Do not stay at this property. The pictures are incredibly deceiving. The home is old and run down. When we arrived for our stay, the dishes had been placed back in the drawers dirty. The basement where the fourth bedroom is located is dark and dirty. There are mouse traps in the basement and a mouse ran across my daughter's foot when we were down there. There was garbage in the corners of the basement and the dryer door handle was missing and the owner had shoved a coat hanger in there to open the dryer. The bed configuration is not as advertised and you are not going to to want to have anyone stay in the basement bedroom. There were no smoke detectors that were installed in the property. They were all laying on countertops or shoved in drawers. Some of the furniture was held together with rubber bands and the blinds were broken in every bedroom. There was open wiring laying on the floor in one of the bedrooms. The property manager was totally unhelpful in getting this resolved and we had to report the property to VRBO for not being safe.

We had a lovely stay, especially for the price but our group had a few issues with the home, some more serious than others. Not as serious: -the house is slanted. The floors are at an angle. Anything that can roll off a table will do so.Home semi clean but in poor condition.-Handle came off in our hand. The tub and shower hardware is ready to fall off the wall. Etc.-a few beds were comfy. But some were not. Most pilows were paper thin and flat. -living room rug dirty. Coffee table being held together with a rubber band and we were afraid to put anything on it for this reason.Semi serious: - the house is musky. Specifically the bedroom IN THE BASEMENT, past the laundry portion of the basement. This needs to be advertised way more clearly.-the parking/driveway is a pad. Be careful so you don't drive too far and bottom out your carr of the curbof the concrete pad.Serious:- We saw mouse/rodent control items in a drawer. Didnt think much of it. After dinner we came home and notice a rodent had chewed throuhh a cotton tote bag on the couch. And helped themselves to fancy chocolates. We assume the rodent had a great time on the couch earing candy watching netflix. Positives:- quiet street.-the dinosaur crossing IS a thing-ac works pretty well.-the hosts that I dealt with online were pleasant-its near Drake university ( apparently a good selling point)Overall the price was great. So I guess you get what you pay form

We did have some slight problems with the property at first. After a couple good conversations with the host evrething worked out.

Lots of beds but not enough chairs. We could not eat together and had to borrow folding chairs for meals and to play board games. Kitchen is also very small and not well equipped.Toilet was running when we arrived and not flushing. We reported it but because we got it to flush no one was sent to repair it. This happened again the second day of our stay and again no one came, even though the host said they were coming. Apparently they can't do weekend repairs. With only one bathroom, having to fix the toilet after each use was a worry the whole trip.

A little hiccup with check in process and email. Otherwise it went very smooth. Would have liked the screen on front door fixed.

House was as advertised and worked well for our family. One thing to note is that one bedroom, while nice, is at the back of an unfinished basement and our kids were uncomfortable sleeping down there. Luckily there were enough beds on the main level.
