Stayed Dec 24, 2025This lovely beach home has everything you need for a fun stay in San Diego. It has a unique Spanish charm with beach decorations. The highlight for my husband and I was the sauna in the master bath. Our girls could not get enough of the rooftop area with a beautiful view of San Diego. It was pouring rain the first night so I was worried we would not enjoy the rooftop, but it was a lovely clear Christmas Day and we were able to go up there. We didn’t use the fire pit, but it’s there if you’d like to use it. The kitchen had everything we needed to make all of our meals. Our hostess Lori and her property manager were very kind and welcoming. The neighborhood is safe and there is a grocery store within walking distance. I looked at countless properties before deciding on this one and I am grateful we stayed here for a special visit to one of our favorite cities.

Stayed Jun 15, 2025My two daughters in their 30s were able to reunite and visit after many years, meeting in the middle, one from AZ, one from NorCal. They went to college in San Diego, so perfect place, as was the Rooftop Dreamhouse. Hosts were very accommodating and communicative. Watching Seaworld fireworks from rooftop was a must every night, sitting by the firepit. Other family members in closeby accommadations would visit for meals and fireworks, too!

Stayed Aug 12, 2024Overall great trip. The property is as advertised but the photos of the roof top deck do not do it justice. Simply spectacular 360 degree views. It was my favorite part of the property.

Stayed Oct 28, 2021We needed a place in this area with parking as we were hosting wedding celebration activities at both the beach and the bay. That it was a nice place with a 360 view on the rooftop deck was a great bonus! I was able to squeeze my full size minivan inside the garage or safely in the driveway (both at angles). The driveway is steep but manageable. Very convenient having the San Rafael stop sign and crosswalk close for back and forth to the beach. Traffic noise from Mission Blvd was the only drawback. Bay view from kitchen, dining room, and deck absolutely fantastic! Both residences between the home and the bay are single story, giving clear sight lines. All amenities as advertised. Sauna worked great, as did the gas fire pit on the roof. There are more stairs than expected that can be difficult for the mobility challenged. Felt very welcomed and taken care of. Julie was a great on-site host. I was curious about a last minute early check-in and she made it happen within 30 minutes of my request! Thank you for providing me a fun and convenient way to be close to all the wedding festivities!

Stayed Sep 25, 2021Nice central location, about half way between the Pier and Belmont Park, close to Bay, and very quick walk to beach. Easy to walk to many places for food. Great view of Bay from rooftop deck with a peek of the beach. The garage was great, and there is even a driveway (although very sloped) for another car (regular car or mid size SUV - a long truck would not fit). We have a Toyota Rav 4, and it was no problem fitting in the garage. We had friends with a similar size SUV that stopped by, and it fit in the driveway. Be advised, there are MANY steps in this house, and they are fairly steep. Steps up to the house, to the master bedroom, to the living area, to the kitchen, to the rooftop deck. Pretty much everywhere you go. Not a problem for us, just wanted to make others aware that if you have trouble with steps, or have small kids, it could be a problem for you. There is a large dumb waiter in the garage that goes up to just inside the front door. This was a nice surprise and was awesome for getting luggage from the car to the house. The house is older, as most are in the area, but is decorated nicely. Master bed/bath have plenty of storage, with many drawers in both. There were even hooks in the bathroom and in the closet to hang clothes and towels, and some hangers in the closet too. These details may not be a huge thing to most people, but I find this to be a huge plus. I hate staying somewhere where I cannot unpack all my things. The master shower was great (although a bit dark with only one light in the bathroom near the sink), and my husband loved the sauna. Like every place in the Mission Beach area, there is much street noise with the windows open. This is not a negative about the house, as it is like this pretty much everywhere, just pointing out that if you open the windows at night, you will hear the traffic, sirens, etc. And even though it was only around 70 degrees during the day, the bedrooms did get stuffy at night. There are fans available though, which help. The master bed was not the most comfortable, but daughter said the guest bed was comfy. The kitchen came with a hodge podge of items for cooking simple meals. Garbage bags, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent and dryer sheets available. The refrigerator ice and water dispenser do not work, so you will have to buy ice (but there were a few ice trays). There is a filtered water dispenser at the kitchen sink, and a Brita pitcher in the refrigerator.
