RiverHaus Retreat at Gruene

Fabulous is the word that best describes this property! We have been visiting New Braunfels every summer for over 45 years and this is by far the best place we have stayed. Even with a large group, you have plenty of space and privacy. The description and pictures on the website did not do it justice – you must see it to appreciate it! The location on the river along with the tubing were A. The stay was made easier with two of everything – oversized refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and gas grills plus an oversized freezer. There was always plenty of ice for our large group. Beds, chairs, and outdoor furniture were very comfortable. No detail including cleanliness & decor has been overlooked on this property. We highly recommend the Riverhaus Retreat at Gruene and would definitely stay there again! Thank you RiverCity Hosting for your help!

We had a lovely visit for our corporate meeting. The hosts made us feel very welcome with a personal note and details. The house/space was perfect for our group with the HUGE meeting space and great outdoor space and spacious living room. The weather was cold but the hot tub was so inviting- heating up very quickly from the app any time we needed it. The spacious kitchen is a great place to gather and had everything that we needed. Parking was ample and the location was very nearby lots of great restaurants and attractions.

Absolutely one of the best places we have stayed! Beautiful, clean, well appointed and everything you need to have the perfect getaway!

We could literally ask for nothing during our stay! Every detail is well cared for in this fabulous home. Everything was beautiful yet homey! It was absolutely spectacular!

This home is wonderful! It is set up for groups. Each room has its own bath and there is privacy if needed. The kitchen is great and the property is amazing! You can be out in the backyard or go down to the river. There is plenty of seating anywhere you go! The management was also very helpful. We weren't able to use the pool as it was being resurfaced, but the fence built around it was quite nice and didn't deter from the outside. Can't wait to stay again and use the pool! We will be back!

Absolutely wonderful property! Very clean, comfortable beds, and enough space for the extended family in town for a wedding. The pool was amazing in August Texas heat! Hosts were very helpful. Will stay here again if back in town.

This was the 2nd year in a row to book this AMAZING house! It is perfect for large groups of all ages! The layout is perfect and they have everything you need in the kitchen to cook for a crowd! 2 Refrigerators and double washer and dryer were bonuses! I HIGHLY recommend this house! I have stayed at a ton of houses over the years and this is, hands down, THE BEST ONE YET!!

The property was beautiful and spacious for our very large family (19). We had a wonderful time. Anytime we had a question or problem, they responded quickly. Our only issue was the lack of pots and pans to cook for that many people.

Great location in New Braunfels, right on the Guadalupe River and minutes from Gruene. The house was perfect for all my family which included 9 adults & 7 children. Except for the bunkroom, the bedrooms were all very roomy with their own bathrooms. That was a huge plus! And the bunkroom was what it is meant to be, and room for the kids to call their own! We enjoyed the pool and floating in the river every day. The property had so much outdoor space we could all enjoy being wherever we wanted to be without feeling crowded. Would definitely recommend this property!

The place was awesome, and we had a blast! The house has river access and is in a great spot near Greune. We got all our questions answered right away. Definitely recommend it!

The house was beautiful. Looks just like the pictures on line. We did a family vacation with 13. We enjoyed the pool , the river , we did s’mores on the fire pit. The house was very well stocked. Had very good communication with the rent company. We would definitely rent the house again.

Great house, perfect for our family of adult children with kids.

We had a total of 20 adults , babies , kids and teens and each one was comfortable and happy. Our stay was for 5 nights and we loved the beautiful setting and the outdoor pool and hot tub area. It is close to everything we were interested in doing but we were also good with being at the house. Everything is very accessible and our family loved it. Truly a stunning home and location!

This house is fantastic! It is huge and spaced out nicely where everyone has their own privacy. It has everything you need for a big crowd including a big dining room with lots of tables and chairs, double kitchen sinks, double refrigerators and even double washers and dryers. The pool and hot tub were so fun and there’s plenty of seating outside to enjoy lounging around or enjoying dinner on the patio. The river was nice to sit at and fish late in the evening. My family really enjoyed our stay here!

Had a great time staying at RiverHaus Retreat. The home is beautiful and plenty of space. Was perfect for the 5 families that came with kids. Having the ensuite for each bedroom was awesome! The hosts were very easy to contact if we needed anything. Would love to come back next year!

The house was perfect in every way. We had 6 couples, and found the home spacious to accommodate all of us comfortably. Having 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers, along with an icemaker was very convenient. Highly recommend the location. It is on the river and a short drive to Gruene and downtown New Braunfels. We were able to do a nice float right from the house that ended at Cypress Bend Park, where we left two vehicles so we could return home. The pool and fire pit were awesome too. We plan to book this house again.

Perfect location, amenities, cleanliness! Excellent property!

We had 3 generations staying at this gorgeous property. The bedrooms gave everyone their own space, but the house was open so we could also be together. The outside area’s had plenty of seating along with 2 grills and the heated pool kept everyone entertained during the down times. We will definitely be staying at this property again.

I booked this property for my 40th birthday - the goal was to have a relaxing weekend with friends cooking, hanging by the pool, and playing games. This property was PERFECT for our stay. The home was clean and very well stocked. While many properties can hold a large group, the spacing of the home allowed privacy and the common areas had more than enough seating for our group of 13. Adding the heated pool option was perfect for the weather and instructions for the hot tub were easy to follow. The fact that there are 2 refrigerators, dishwashers, and washer/dryers made storing groceries and keeping things clean easy. Loved the long dining tables for our Saturday night meal and we were so close to everything we needed. The management team was so quick to respond to any questions and provided amazing service before, during, and after our stay. Highly recommend for families, groups of friends and beyond

This home was perfect for our family reunion of 20 people, ranging from a baby to elderly grandparents. Has a very private feel, even though it is close to stores and the highway. Large indoor living space, open kitchen with enough space for us to work on meals together. We loved the large dining room with enough tables and seats for the entire group to eat together. The kitchen is well-stocked. Two sinks and two dishwashers make for easier prep and clean up. Amazing amount of refrigerator and freezer space.All bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms except for the bunk house, but it has easy access to half bath in the hallway or the full bathroom in the PoolHaus. Comfortable beds, spacious bunks. Plenty of storage spaces in cabinets and drawers. Comfortable bedding with plenty of extra blankets.Spacious laundry room with two seats of W&D.Heated pool for additional fee was well-worth it. Plenty of pool towels. Plenty of outdoor seating as well as a large, fenced-in grassy area in the yard for playing outside. We were able to play baseball and football on the large, grassy riverbank below.The management company was responsive and helpful. Offered quick responses. One time when an on-site visit was required, sent maintenance promptly. Maintenance worked quickly and professionally.We highly recommend this property!

We booked this house for our family Christmas and it was perfection! We have rented several houses over the years and this was by far the best, biggest, most stocked and comfortable for a large group we have ever stayed at! We had 15 people in our group ranging from 2-72!

The property was amazing with incredible views. It was the perfect place for me and my wife to get married at. It was large enough for all of our family to stay at and prepare for the wedding which was at the level grassy area with the river behind us. The house is definitely set up for large groups. We look forward to staying there again, but next time will be to float the river with family. I highly recommend this house.

The pictures and descriptions don’t do this place justice. The home is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need for an amazing stay. We were a party of 19 and never felt crowded. We can’t wait to rent again!

Well thought out spaces for sitting with the whole family. Beautiful spaces everywhere you look. The deep pool was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were spacious and the kitchen is well stocked! Can’t wait to book again.
