Stayed Dec 31, 1969In all my travels, I’ve never stayed at a place quite like Mahogany Hall. Great, attentive staff and personable owner. Stay here if you’re looking to stay in San Ignacio area and you won’t regret it.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We looked at a lot of options in the San Ignacio area and this was by far the most luxurious Vacasa we found. It is situated on the Mopan River and you can hear the river rushing by from your balcony or your room if you leave the French doors open. The suite is spacious and has twin size trundle beds under each Queen bed so you can easily sleep a family of six comfortably. There’s a jacuzzi bath tub in the suite which was wonderful after days of exploring and climbing tons of stairs at the nearby Mayan ruins. The setting is gorgeous with tropical vegetation and palm trees on the property. There’s a small infinity pool overlooking the river, and inter tubes you can borrow to float down the river. They also have hammocks and lounge chairs by the pool to relax, as well as a fire pit they light every night. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and listening to the sounds of the rainforest- so many beautiful bird songs and other nature sounds which are so soothing. We had breakfast at the onsite restaurant which was very good. You can also order lunch and dinner there. Dinner is $25 USD per person, and you need to order in advance. They clean your room every day, which is not typical for Vacasa and was a nice touch. They also left fresh flower arrangements in our room and candles by the bathtub to make it extra romantic. There’s an area with complimentary coffee and tea in the suite as well, and they leave a pitcher of filtered water in your room daily. There’s also a water cooler in the hallway. Lovely place to stay and very convenient to exploring Mayan ruins in the area. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I will preface this by saying that I nor am my don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled to write this because it is a small token of appreciation for the wonderful experience we had. Not only was the facility an oasis away from home, the service was impeccable! Marcia is the host and she is amazing! She really wants her guests to enjoy the experience of staying there. Her husband is the chef and his cooking was delicious. Each day they ask you what time you would like to eat, and they really try to accommodate your schedule, which was nice because one day we went to Tikal and had to get up early, and they were happy to get up early to cook for us to ensure we were fed before we left. We came with kids, and they were so nice to the kids and really did whatever they could to enhance our experience. Our kids loved the food too. There were a few other guests staying there at the same time and they all echoed the same experience. The room was spacious and felt luxurious. The pool was so nice and we all said that we were happy that we chose Mahogany Hall. We are considering planning another trip because we liked it so much.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My friends and I absolutely loved The Monkey Suite. All of the staff at Mahogany Hall were fantastic. It was clean and peaceful. We spent every evening hanging out in the beautiful pool and we enjoyed tubing (tubes compliment of Mahogany Hall) on the river as well. The food and bar were also great. If you’re concerned about distance from San Ignacio without a car, don’t be. The staff was always willing to call us a taxi and we had zero issues getting around. 100% recommend!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969“We had such a great stay at your beautiful property! I have to mention that your staff was amazing, they were friendly, polite, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We got a flat tire on our rental the morning we were leaving and the man on duty was so helpful. My only suggestion would be mini refrigerators in the rooms. Thank you!”

Stayed Dec 31, 1969“Excellent hotel to reside in if you're looking for somewhere a little more secluded. The hotel itself is breath taking and so are the views. Just a side note that the road is very bumping but it's definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this place.”
