Stayed Dec 31, 1969Great location on a river, with some river view. Large grassy private property - never heard or saw a neighbor. Very steep turn into the lane off relatively busy HWY 1 makes arriving and departing a bit challenging. Due to proximity to HWY 1, regular traffic noise, which includes motorcycles and trucks. Bring a bluetooth speaker to use on the deck when having a lobster dinner! Large master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Large deck with river view.

Stayed Jun 15, 2024This home was perfect for our family! We love nature and water. Cappy’s retreat manor you feel like you are surrounded by only nature. A private beach, a sitting area to enjoy the breeze from the river, and a fire pit to enjoy S’mores. This was our first time to Maine and we were not disappointed.

Stayed May 29, 2024Nice home, with an average view of the river. No A/C, which I learned was pretty common in Maine. The home got pretty warm a few afternoons, where A/C would've been nice. Guest bathroom shower has no hot water and TV requires a Harvard degree, we finally figured it out Day 2. I've listed all the negatives, but it really isn't a bad home. Great kitchen with all the necessities, including a Lobster Pot!! We ran a mile down the road to Hannafords and bought dinner to cook at home, 3 of the 4 nights. Saved us some cash!
