We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful close to the river cottage. Check in was easy and straightforward. Parking was also easy with a large SUV. The listing did mention “3 bedrooms”, this is a bit misleading as one “bedroom” is the living room with a futon. The futon had lots of crumbs in it and was short so even my 5’3 sister slept on a diagonal to avoid her feet handing off the end. It was overall comfortable and sheets were clean. Beds in rooms were super comfy and clean. We did find evidence of mice in the master bedroom, we were careful to put any food secure in the fridge overnight and when out.We loved having the air conditioning to come home to after a day of hiking on this unusually warm winter weekend! Lots of shops near by! We loved Tony’s tavern truck as a delicious dinner option. Would stay again as location was perfect and atmosphere was beautiful and close to nature.

We spent 3 nights while visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPs. The house was just as described and worked well for our family.

This location was a fantastic home base for our family of four for day trips into Sequoia National Park. The house itself was both cozy and charming (built-in wood features) and had all the necessary amenities - the air conditioning was really effective and appreciated after a long day hiking in the heat. The deck was great also as we used the grill and had dinner outside one night and sat outside with a coffee in the mornings. The river right next to the deck provided a great opportunity for bird watching. There were a few places closer to the park entrance but it's hard to imagine many that had the combination of location and comfort.

This property does not deserve a 2. We enjoyed our stay but we also acknowledge this place is not for everyone. We loved the charming old feel to this house. The river was very active and there are no chairs to the shore of the river. True, tap not great but there is an osmosis water tap at the sink for drinking water. Or head down to the market and grab a The living room was cozy and beds slept well for our family.

Misleading listing. Heavy salt water from every tap and shower; absolutely undrinkable and pretty gross for showering. Condom wrapper, used ear plug and spider webs under the bed. Most windows don't have screens so limited airflow except for overhead fans. No adirondack chairs as photos show. They're the cheapest folding chairs from Dick's sporting goods and placed at the next house over. A dumpster at the main entry gate is so foul smelling you'll hold your breath passing in and out to your car. They gave us a partial refund but you'll do much better elsewhere. This is NOT the peaceful place on the river. Oh, and there are bears that visit the deck at night. Not a huge deal for us but if you have a dog or kids, it may be.

I had to get out the city and wanted to explore Sequoia National Park without having to stay in some touristy hotel. This house was better than perfect. It was the right amount of secluded while also be close to restaurants and shops — and right next to Sequoia. Spending the day at the park, surrounded by tourists made coming back to this property to relax on the riverbank in seclusion and peace almost made the house itself the primary attraction of this trip. 11/10, would book again.

The house is so charming! Very clean. All instructions for entering were precise. House is directly on the river and only a few miles from Sequoia National Forest.
