The home was beautifully maintained. We enjoyed meeting some of the neighbors. One gave me excellent fishing advice and I caught the largest trout of my life.
We had a great time and everything online was well represented. The kitchen was superb, plentiful plates, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, etc. The outdoor porch was a favorite when the weather permitted. The road to the house (Sycamore Shoals) is a typical rural road in the hills of TN. It is winding, up and down, and an average speed of 20 - 25 mph. The directions to the house were perfect, however the sign shown on line faces one direction and cannot be easily seen from the other direction. We did have a minor issue with the wood floor in the bedrooms and the hall to the bedrooms. The floor creaked and was noticeable at night when moving around. It was not an issue during the day. The host was great an responding quickly to any questions and we would highly recommend this home.
This location was perfect for a weekend getaway with ample fishing. Caught our biggest rainbow and brown trouts. Property is well stocked and our new home away from home
The house was great! Very clean and spacious! The only thing I didn’t like was passing the sewage treatment plant down the road and not being able to hear the river over the traffic.
Gorgeous property!
Beautiful house on the river. Very clean. Had everything you need, even paper products. Highly recommend
The cottage was perfect for our stay to attend a graduation. The river was nice and the house had everything we needed.
My grandson is so into fishing and the location couldn’t have been any better. Located right on the river, he was able to fish from the back deck. The house was perfect and well furnished. We would definitely stay there again.
I really likes the house. Easy to get to. The only thing I didn’t like was there was a Aeropostale bag of garbage on the table and hair in my bath tub. Other than that the place was clean, and the beds where comfortable.
Great
The rural setting of this home (yet close to amenities of Elizabethton) was just what we needed to recharge. The home was very comfortable and well-stocked. Loved sitting on the rocking chairs on the front porch viewing the countryside along with the deck which gave river access. Would definitely stay again and appreciated the owner's great communication.
We had a great time! The host was great and gave all information needed for a fun weekend with my family.
My husband and I loved staying at Carla's Cottage. Gorgeous Mt views in the front, and mesmerizing river in the back! Had loads of fun fishing off the property's dock. Private, yet close to many places of interest. I have NEVER seen a home so well stocked with quality items provided for visitors. The home itself was full of character and such a feel good atmosphere. This is Relaxation 2.0! Highly recommend!
This will be the fourth time we have stayed at Carla's Cottage. We have been doing a girls weekend for 9 years now and this place by far is our favorite. Place is beautiful, super clean and pretty private. The deck and the open layout works great for us. Hope to be back again next year.
This home was immaculately clean, spacious for 4 adults, and absolutely charming. We spent 2 days in a 4 person raft we anchored on the river just enjoying nature. There were several fly fishermen in the area too so if you’re into that it’s a great spot. We were able to make a perfect spot for a picnic in the front yard with the field and mountains in the background. The kitchen is well stocked, beds are very comfy, water is hot! I can’t say enough good things about this home/location. It was one of my favorite weekends ever. Be sure to watch the Watauga river generation info online if you’re going to be in the river.
Great location, great place, very spacious, everything was available. Would love to come back again.
We planned a family outing around our son's App League games. Although the weather did not cooperate for baseball, we found plenty to do at Carla's Cottage. Located directly on the river, we rafted, fished, and enjoyed the scenery. Cottage is very comfortable, clean, and well stocked, and the hosts are excellent! We would definitely recommend Carla's Cottage!
Great home on the river. Very roomy and spread out, gorgeous views, convenient to everything I Elizabethton.
We had a great time during our stay. The holuse had everything we needed would be great for a family getaway . We loved the mornings and evenings fishing and sitting on the deck . Short driving distance to two state parks and any type of food your hungry for. Highly recommend
Had a great time. House was perfect and right on the river.
Very nice and clean home, quiet and peaceful
This house was one of the most clean properties I have seen. Kitchen was remodeled and well stocked. Lots of space for 2 and plenty for a family as well. Had a great time fishing the area, Watauga River, Doe River, Stoney creek, Wilbur Lake. Lots of trout! House sits right off the River as well great location! Just be aware and *check the Wilbur dam generator schedule * cant stress enough. Water will rise 2-3ft in just minutes it seems. Overall great time cooking fish, ziplining at Off the Grid. And checking out the area! Set in the mountains! Beautiful!
My wife and I had a great stay at Carla’s Cottage. Nice, quite, country location and only 12-15 minutes from town. Large deck and fishing dock although I fished from shore. River is known for trout and I did land a brown. House is set up for many more guests than the two of us if you have a larger group. We enjoy cooking in on occasion and the selection of cookware was the highest quality we have come across in a Vrbo. Very comfortable bed. Everything you would need is available. Abundant wildlife around the cottage. We had deer, woodchucks and geese within camera range. We had a power outage caused by an unlucky bird that hit a live wire and blew a fuse on the pole beside the driveway. After a call to the owner who contacted the power company power was back within an hour and a half. We highly recommend this Cottage except for the dates when we may revisit. Steve and Elizabeth
