RIVENDELL'S HISTORY
Rivendell is the second oldest home in Olympic Valley (after the former Poulsen family home that is now Graham's Restaurant and the Christy Lodge). The cabin has been owned by the same family for over 50 years. When the 1960 Winter Olympics were in Tahoe, the cabin was used as a media center, and CBS filmed the Olympic ski jump from the cabin (the remains of the Olympic ski jump are still visible directly across from the cabin's front door). Don't miss your chance to stay in a piece of Olympic Valley history!

it's a cozy house with plenty of space for three families with kids and it's in a great location. The house is old and some things need updating. The master bath was a little musty during our stay.

We had a very nice stay at this home. It’s close to the village which is a huge plus and has a fun view on the slopes. The communication with the property management was wonderful and so quick. It’s a cool, old historic property so just be prepared for it feeling that way. Our only complaint is that the price on this property was extremely high so we felt like the bathrooms/kitchen should have been more updated for such a high price.

We loved the location. Fantastic morning views of the mountain each morning and quick, convenient access to the mountain village. Loved learning of the special history of the home, too.

It takes ~10 minutes, but definitely doable to walk up and down to the Far Eastern lift area. Wish the downstairs common area bathroom with just a bathtub had a shower too, but everything else was great.

We had 4 families that needed 6 bedrooms and bathrooms. One bathroom only had a tub so wasn't as usable for quick getting ready. It was rather warm upstairs so difficult for sleeping, but fans were found in some rooms downstairs that made sleeping better there. There are daybeds that look great but won't work for sleeping as the door to the porch is right next to them and there is no blind on it to block out the light in the morning. The 2 living areas are really nice for putting kids upstairs. There are some minor issues that need to be addressed and a mildew smell initially that affected 2 people in our party. The location is great however. It's just an older home, It was extremely pricey for our trip however.
