This was the best house. It is like a step back in time. When it says it feels like Gradmas house it really does. Perfect fit for our family. The house is clean and well kept. They gave you plenty of towels and wash clothes. Hooks for hanging your towels. They leave you a snack basket and apple pastries. The beds are comfortable and we loved the outdoor seating. Mara Hill has our heart. We would definitely stay again. Thank you.

This was our third stay, we love it. We could move right in if the owners were ok with. Every thing is just enough.

We were in love from the moment we arrived! Charming, comfortable and within walking distance to Mars Hill University. Perfect space in bedrooms and tv room. Beds were very comfortable with amazingly luxurious linens! Towels provided were thick and luxurious as well! Kitchen very up to date and had everything we needed. Great front porch with rockers that we loved each morning and evening. So peaceful and quiet. The grounds were amazing, lush trees and beautiful flowers and plants! Added bonus were the deer, fox, lightning bugs and birds that greeted us daily! We absolutely LOVED staying at Apple on the Hill and would love to stay again soon!!

My family had such a great time and perfect location. We spent some much time on the porch, even in the rain. Love all the period correct furnishings and old photos. This was our second but looking forward to the next.

Apple on the Hill was the perfect getaway! We loved the location: scenic view close to town but still far from neighbors The house had everything we needed, including the coffee maker and coffee! The decor and antiques were lovely. Loved the story of the family and so glad Kathy and Becky were able to keep this treasure. Great communication too. Not too far from Biltmore Estate.

My family and I have stayed in this house many times over the four years our daughter was attending MHU. Perfect location, very clean and we love the outside deck and front porch. Only negative is it’s only one bathroom but all the positives out way that for us! Love the Apple House!

This place was so cute. It was super clean and I loved how the historical parts of the house remained while making it modern at the same time. It had everything that we needed for the stay. The bathroom is a bit small, but no problem for a vacation stay. The beds were comfortable and although it was very cold while we were there, the house was toasty. I hope that it will be available when we are back in Mars Hill again.

The property was clean and cozy. The beds were very comfortable. It’s a short walk to town and coffee shop. It’s a nice small town and it was beautiful in the Fall. The host was very helpful and communicative regarding the area and how it was affected by the hurricane. Would definitely stay again.

The house was as stated and we particularly loved the back story of the house and property. The extra tall oak bed #1 was just like I slept on 75 years ago. Bedroom 2 was the exact same pieces as our DIL’s grandparents had. We were really amazed at the fully equipped kitchen. Even though the house has every modern convenience it is like your grandparents, for our family it was a wonderful walk down memory lane. We were able to walk to football stadium and felt safe late at night. The added bonus was an orchard full of apples along with a half dozen deer. And let’s not forget the large barn. PS just a long 2 block walk to a fantastic coffee shop and a few doors down a shop with a large range of organic products, including spices and tea leaves from even the Himalayas. There’s also a fantastic ice cream shop within walking distance hidden away. Thank you for the Apple croissants, perfect for the name of your house.

This house was perfect for our stay in the Asheville area! Mars Hill is a great little town, and you should definitely visit the coffee shop down the road. Every evening we had deer come visit the yard and munch on the apples. And there was a group of squirrels that kept us entertained running up and down the apple trees! The area was quiet and peaceful. Perfectly out of the way from city life but Only a 20 min drive into downtown Asheville!

This was my first VRBO/Evolve/PropertyContact-but-not-the-owner experience, and for that reason I wont be returning to this particular property. The communication just wasn't up to the caliber of other rental experiences. Just too many entities between the actual owners (great info about them and the property in the welcome book BTW) and VRBO - and nobody seemed to know anything or be very engaged. All that being said, it's a super cute property with lots of apple trees and wildlife - bunnies, deer. Great flowering landscaping that attracts bees, butterflies. Really beautiful and quaint spot - and super convenient to all that Mars Hill offers, as well as nearby Weaverville and Asheville. The property is absolutely as-described and filled with original pieces, but could use a comfy recliner in the living room if you're a TV watcher - I'm not. I enjoyed having morning coffee on the porch. Overall, it was comfortable enough for me for 4 nights as I visited with family who live nearby.

This is as close to perfect as it gets! Our son attended Mars Hill for college and we have stayed at many places over the years. This visit was to celebrate his girlfriend graduating. Location was perfect, the cottage is precious, literally looks like a postcard. Sprinkle in the Apple Orchard, deer frolicking (yes frolicking ?) in the backyard and the fireflies...it was wonderful. The hosts' communication was clear and my 24 year old son commented these folks have thought of everything! Well done ladies! We thoroughly enjoyed the history and charm of your family's home!
