Bondurant, Wyoming
The most unique rental in Jackson Hole area! This former guest ranch and hunting lodge has now become a vacation rental! The main historic home, built in the late 1800's, offers a truly authentic Wyoming stay along the banks of the Hoback River. The lodge sleeps 9-10 comfortably and features a large great room with fireplace, a bar/game room, 2 large porches and a commercial grade kitchen and dining area (seats 24 people) to enjoy meals. It also has two full and two half baths. Up to an additional 19 guests can stay on property in one of the 5 charming cabins. Each cabin sleep 2-5 people and has its own bathroom and small kitchenette. (Occupancy based on sharing of queen beds). This offers the best of both worlds for a large group: privacy from one another and proximity to each other! Ideal for family reunions, corporate retreats and more! We can be flexible with price if you do not need all 5 cabins. If you want a place that is exactly what a trip out west should be: rustic, removed from the city, surrounded by nature and AFFORDABLE this is the place for you and your group! Why just rent a house when you can rent a ranch!
We needed a place that would accommodate 20 people and this place fit the bill. It is very far from Jackson and Grand Teton National park, but we still thought it was great. Extra time and planning made it all work. Everyone had what they needed and room to spare. The kitchen is very well equipped and we were able to host a dinner for all that were staying there. I would say the only downfall of this place is cell service. There isn’t any, which made communicating with our group difficult. But if you want to unplug and enjoy the beauty of this area, I recommend it.
We loved our stay! Great for groups. Easy access to Jackson. The cleaning crew needs some attention as there was a cabin that was not clean and that needed plumbing work. But overall we were really pleased and would come again!
This place is perfect for large groups that want to vacation together but also have your own space. A few issues with cleanliness, but Allison and the on-site property manager were VERY responsive and helpful. We were able to take advantage of fishing in the river - they really do have a little something for everyone. Would stay again!
There were 21 family members in attendance for our family reunion. Everyone was so happy with the setting and accommodations. The lodge was the perfect gathering place for all of us and the kitchen was more than adequate for preparing meals. We all having the Hoback River on the property. The Elkhorn Bar and Restaurant was a real western experience with great food and a short drive away.
The property was perfect for our large group. The lodge is beautiful.
The property is located in an absolutely beautiful area. A good place to unhook and unwind ..we had 21 family members, rented entire ranch for 7 days and nights; cooked almost all our meals at the ranch..relaxed, played games, enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, robins, horses in pasture next door; loved the stream out back; and just totally refreshed our minds! We were close enough to Jackson to enjoy some time there and visited the Elkhorn Bar and CStore for a fabulous burger lunch-good food and fast, friendly service..highly recommend..would have liked to visit there again on a Friday or Saturday night..bet it’s a hoppin place! The property is right on the highway and, seemed, at least to some of us-a very busy highway, but not an issue. The property is definitely Rustic, as listed; our guys had to clean the grill at the main lodge before we could use it, the other two grills are unusable. The main lodge and cabins could use a deep, thorough cleaning and the freezer definitely needs a defrosting. Perhaps the cleaning crew needs more time; we had issues with mice in two cabins; and if you are staying for any length of time, bring all you may need as there are no extras provided-the kitchen has a huge refrigerator and adequate place settings; a couple of the tables need repair as the leaves won’t stay up which would allow them to seat more people. All in all-we enjoyed our stay - we were looking for a place “off the grid” so to speak, and it fit the bill for us .
The Black Powder Guest Ranch was all it was promised to be and just what we were looking for as a large family vacation spot. It was close enough to Jackson to access activities there but far enough away to provide privacy for our extended family group. We fished, we cooked, we played outdoor and indoor games, and we told stories by the campfire. The drive into Jackson was a beautiful drive which made each trip easy. The ranch had all the supplies necessary to facilitate our group. The kitchen in the main lodge was updated and very functional. The beds in all the cabins and lodge were comfortable. Everyone slelt well. Overall, this ranch provided our group a fantastic place to stay and play.
Great base for the family to explore Grand Tetons & Yellowstone.
My husband and I booked the Black Powder Guest Ranch to host a reunion with our friends. The weekend was a wonderful time to reconnect and enjoy beautiful Wyoming. The Ranch is a stunning property with so much to offer. The main building had enough space to accommodate our group of 27 for meals and games in the dining and living areas. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies and the commercial grade fridge and stoves were a life saver! All of our friends slept wonderfully in their beds and many enjoyed the spa-like treatment in the downstairs steam shower. The on site manager Chip was kind and helpful as was Allison. She answered all of my questions prior to arrival and checked in on our day of check in. I can’t recommend the Black Powder Guest Ranch enough. We didn’t want our weekend to end, and should we plan another reunion in Wyoming we will surely be back to the Ranch!
This property worked great for our extended family. It is in a beautiful location and we had room for everyone. We would love to stay there again.
The Ranch was very nice and we became more comfortable with it as the days past during our visit. That may sound strange, but each of our kid's family had their own cabin. The more days we were there, the group of buildings took on our family's personality. The lodge is laid out very well for a reunion. The kitchen and dining area was large enough to handle all of us. The dining area doubled as our game room during the evenings where we had different games being played on each of the different tables. Everyone gravitated to the game of their interest. One room off the kitchen became our kids crafts room. It was perfect to paint pet rocks and leave them to dry. The great grandparents loved the back porch where they could oversee the multi-family kickball game in the small field behind the lodge. Some of us guys went fishing in the river next the Ranch. Cutthroats were abundant once we figured out what flies they were biting. The family also like making the short drive up to Granite Hot Springs for a relaxing soak. Bottom line: Great stay, Great Time, Great Place!
Large main lodge with 5 separate cabins but all within 75 years so we were all close enough but with privacy. The kids throughly enjoyed the river in the back of the property. We had S’Mores after building camp fires two nights. Kids loved it. Wonderful, informal setting.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was great to have the cabins as separate spaces. We spent a bit of time on the deck watching the birds and horses. It was a little closer to the highway than I had expected, but we didn't really notice it. Enjoyed the game room and river. We would definitely come back!
We had 5 families stay and it was perfect for the whole group. Each family had their sleeping areas and we shared meals and group time in the lodge. We hardly had to leave the property to enjoy our time. The creek running through was perfect and all the outdoor space added to the overall beauty. We are talking about going again next year!
The property is beautiful, clean and full of activities!
