Enjoy a memorable visit when you stay in this unique cozy home. Both rustic and refined with exposed stone walls and modern amenities.

We are located directly across from the train tracks and the Potomac River. Great for train enthusiasts and kids. Be prepared to see and hear the excitement when trains go by. Very sensitive sleepers may want to take this into consideration! The house sits on a scenic byway that has, just a short distance up the road, beautiful river views and a breathtaking top of mountain vista (Maryland Heights) if you’re a pretty serious hiker. The road trails along the river with the lesser seen opening of The Harpers Ferry train tunnel. This is also the very course John Brown traveled on his way to the armory raid. Knoxville was once a bustling town but suffered hardship when the train station moved to close by Brunswick. Some of the hardship is still evident in the area. The whole Harpers Ferry area is one of the fastest growing areas with Knoxville in particular burgeoning. The area has loads to offer with hiking, biking, tubing, rafting and kayaking or just taking a scenic walk on the tow path. There are vineyards and breweries close by and a few different venues with live music with great views of the river.

The upper level of the property features a large open concept primary bedroom with a Queen size bed ,walk in closet and access to the upper balcony. Please see pictures of layout.
A second bedroom with two twin beds and a full bathroom with tub.

The lower level has a large dining room, Den, kitchen, half bath and laundry room.

Two parking spaces are available in front of the garage and an extra spot in front of the house.

This was a cute historic house. Don’t let the outside fool you. It’s a nice mix on historic and modern. Everything was clean and the host was easy to reach. The train going by right in front of the house is very cool. Very short drive to Harper’s ferry. Great location. Do expect some spiders that come with an old home. Check in and check out were also very easy!

We rented this home for a long Thanksgiving weekend weekend with our son and family. We were able to prepare Thanksgiving dinner and several other meals in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoyed them all at the lovely dining room table. Our grandson is a rail fan, so the two front porches were the perfect location to watch freight and passenger trains go by several times a day. The drum set in the living room was an unexpected treat. We also enjoyed excursions to nearby Harpers Ferry.

Host was incredibly responsive and allowed an early check in. Fun and interesting decor throughout, updated home with most things you could need (I didn't see a hair dryer, but imagine the host would have brought it if I had asked) and some things that were a great surprise like the drum set which my 2 and 10year old enjoyed. Great location for us close to Harpers Ferry and my kids enjoyed the trains passing by. New Mexican restaurant close by is pretty good as well. Would stay again. Where original, floors could use some patching in some places where you worry that they may give out.

We had an absolutely lovely time at the Knoxville historic stone house. The house was clean and had all the comforts of home. My husband especially loved having access to the instruments in the entertainment room. The host was exceptional and responsive. We would absolutely stay again next time we are in the area.

The house is amazing especially if you love history and trains! Our house were communicative and very gracious with the amenities that included extra paper products plenty of towels and bedding and a lot of extras in the kitchen. I highly recommend if you're coming to the Harpers Ferry area.

The house was just the right size for our family, including two little ones. We really appreciated that there were guards to put on the side of the beds so that our little ones did not roll out.The location was great for everything we needed to do nearby, and the kids got a kick out of seeing the train go right past the front door. The music room was a hit as well!

This place is perfect for a couple. Bedroom is also good if you have kids. Perfect place to stay if you visiting Harper’s Ferry and 5 minutes from the Brewery. You could see the house from the hill if the trees weren’t in the way. 18 minutes from Charles Town. Very Cozy 1800 feeling place.

You seriously never know what you’re going to get with a VRBO, and we’ve stayed in plenty— but this might be our new favorite spot. There’s something so charming about an historic home like this (the stone walls! The claw foot tub!) that also boasts modern amenities, cleanliness, and the most gorgeous furnishings. I’m a sucker for antiques when they are so beautifully curated and not simply cluttered or collecting dust, and this place was just so incredibly charming. An historic stone home featuring a framed portrait of David Bowie? I’m sold! We booked this place for our first-ever visit to Harpers Ferry, and Tracey was so helpful in suggesting hikes, scenic drives, and nearby restaurants. It was a perfect location because in just a short three days we were able to explore not only Harpers Ferry, but also nearby Shepherdstown, Charles Town, and Frederick, MD— none of which were more than a 20 minute or so drive away. We look forward to returning when it’s a bit warmer and we can take advantage of all the Potomac has to offer (tubing, kayaking, paddle boarding) and we can try our hand at the Maryland Heights Trail. Overall, a lovely experience!

Nice home close to Harper’s Ferry. Well decorated with antiques and instruments. It is across from the railroad track, so lots of loud freight trains, but as a train lover I loved it.

Great location and nice space for our girls’ crafting weekend! Fully stocked w everything you need, just bring a suitcase and a blow dryer. We enjoyed waving to the trains going by day and night; and the fireplace was a warm and welcome bonus to the spacious dining area! Overall, a great stay! Thank you Tracey!

We stayed over the holiday weekend and had an excellent time. The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as pictured. That’s a small portrait of John Brown in case you were wondering! Tracey was very responsive to any questions we had and she was on top of clearing the patio and stairs of snow that had fallen Sunday. Cleaning the snow off my car was a thoughtful step above anything I’d experienced. I slept through the trains but my girlfriend said ear plugs helped. If you’re on the fence and looking for a weekend getaway, go for it, you won’t be disappointed.

This place was a great blend of the old and nostalgic updated with modern touches throughout! And our stay here was wonderful! We actually spent an evening discussing the different selections of pictures and antiques tastefully decorating the place. We loved the music room, and it became my son’s hangout for when we were onsite. And we had everything we needed ad more. Other than an early morning train event where cars were coupled and uncoupled, we had a truly wonderful time here. Tracey made our stay great! We showed up and she had just finished making everything clean and sparkly, and it all smelled super clean as well (a nice plus!). We would definitely stay here again! The town’s history and quaint charm, the nature, the beautiful place to stay, and the friendliness of the people all made the trip absolutely great! Thanks, Tracey and Harper's Ferry!

Spotless and roomy for 3 adults. The owner thought of our every need. A sunset libation on the front porch made the day perfect. The decorations for Halloween made us feel in season. Dinning table was gigantic. Beds were very comfortable. Thanks for a great stay,

I can't say enough good things about our time in Harper's Ferry and the stay we had at this beautiful, renovated stone house! My boyfriend is a musician and had the best time in the music room! He was like a kid at Christmas! Also, the sound system set up with Bluetooth capability was amazing! The rooms were large, beds were comfortable and just the overall stay was incredible! Tracey was beyond wonderful, kind and had the best communication! Thank you so much! I pray we get to return again one day! We truly made wonderful memories there!

Our family of 4 (including teen children) had a great experience. The home is just as pictured with all of the vintage touches to make an immersive visit to Harper’s Ferry and the surrounding area. The host offered us great suggestions for dining in nearby towns which was a wonderful compliment to our time in Harper’s Ferry. Communication was terrific and check in was smooth. I would definitely recommend this home to others traveling to the area.

Really cool house close to Harper’s Ferry. The kids loved watching movies on the projector. We walked to Harper’s Ferry both days we were there. The house was clean and very nice. The host was super nice and very easy to contact.
