This cottage was built in the 1920’s and has been in my family since 1950. It’s located across from The Fountain of Youth and within walking distance to downtown. It is 1300 square feet, has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The kitchen and bath have tile flooring and marble counters. The living room / dining room has comfortable seating for 6 people. There is a reading/sitting room located between the bedrooms that has a full size sofa, reading lights and a stocked cabinet of books. There is a sun room with game table and board games on one end and seating on the other. Extra linens and pillows are located in the bedroom closets. There is an outdoor patio with seating for 8 that has a 7 foot tall privacy hedge. - Please observe quiet time from 10pm-8am keeping TV, music, regular noise and conversations at a low volume that does not disturb other guests.

My parents, Jim and Flora (hence Casa de Flora) Napier, purchased this cottage in 1950. My father owned and managed Napier Body Shop, was a member of the airport authority appointed by Florida Governor Claude Kirk and was an avid pilot. He loved everything aviation and was an all around wonderful human being who taught by example. He died from a heart attack in 1972 at the young age of 57. I lived here with my mother and sister until I graduated from the University of Florida and moved to Jacksonville to work as a pharmacist. My mother lived here until 2007 when she became unable to live on her own at the age of 92. After a long and robust life that included being a Rosie Riveter during WWII, raising two children, running a successful business and traveling the world she passed away at the age of 98.
As a child I rode my bike everywhere. We’re located close to downtown and anything that a growing boy could want. The Fountain of Youth is one street away and downtown is an easy walk. There are 2 beaches just a short drive away and if you’re a walker it’s beautiful to get up early and walk down to the bay front when everything is quiet and peaceful. The cottage was rented to full time tenants from 2007 until December of 2016. When the tenants moved away my wife, Mary Ann, and I decided to refurbish and furnish it as a vacation rental. This process entailed so much more than we ever envisioned but it has been a labor of love. We have spent blood (along with 13 stitches), sweat and tears getting it ready and are so very proud of what we have to offer. Mary Ann and I love to travel and have been fortunate to have stayed in some wonderful places. We have incorporated the things that we’ve seen and loved into this home. Our goal is for you to feel welcome, comfortable and a bit pampered. It’s not the Ritz but we think that we’ve accomplished our goal. The pictures accurately describe the space.
Bill Napier

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE ANYTHING FROM THE COTTAGE INCLUDING TOWELS.

Palmetto bugs are large bugs that have wings, look like giant roaches and can fly in through open doorways. They are a huge problem in Florida especially after heavy rains. We have a pest control service that sprays monthly but these particular bugs often still find a way to get in. Hopefully, if you see one he is either dead or dying. Don’t be alarmed - they don’t bite or sting. I usually grab a paper towel and pick them up and toss in the garbage can. If you see more than one or two please let me know and I’ll give the exterminator a call. Thank you for understanding

I almost don't want to give a good review as it could mean this beautiful home could be unavailable when we want to book again, honestly Casa de Flora ll is exceptional due to the attention to detail, Bill and Mary Ann are the most accommodating hosts providing everything needed for a relaxing stay, well situated from the Historical Town Center and close to most of the attractions the town offers, it will definitely be our first choice when visiting Saint Augustine.

Stay at Mary Anne’s Home St. Augustine, New Year’s EveFrom the very first moment, Mary Anne’s home made our New Year’s Eve in Saint Augustine truly unforgettable. The property is beautiful, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared, creating the perfect atmosphere to welcome the new year with peace, comfort, and joy. The home was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and filled with a warm energy that made us feel at home immediately. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional location — within walking distance to the historic downtown, main attractions, restaurants, and the charming trolley routes. Everything we wanted to explore in Saint Augustine was easily accessible, which made our experience even more special.Mary Anne is a gracious and attentive host. Her communication was always clear, kind, and prompt, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free. The home itself was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the welcoming touches added a beautiful personal element to our stay.Celebrating New Year’s Eve in such a lovely space truly elevated the experience. It was peaceful, joyful, and memorable — exactly the kind of place where beautiful memories are made.Without hesitation, I highly recommend Mary Anne’s home to anyone visiting Saint Augustine. We would absolutely love to return.Aida Rodríguez

My husband and I stayed at this property with our two teenage daughters. The house was a great size and perfectly situated for our family. We cooked dinners, breakfasts, and played lots of Scrabble! There is no grill at the house, but with all the great restaurants in town, we really didn’t miss it. We drove to St Augustine Beach for several beach days and rented chairs and an umbrella from Benny’s. Vilano beach is closer to the house, but after visiting both beaches, we preferred St. Augustine for the location and parking. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this house and the hosts!!

It was such a welcoming home. It had any amenities you would need or want. The property owners were very attentive and available when needed. The decor was lovely, the home was comfortable, and close to shops and downtown area where you can easily walk or drive. It felt like a home away from home.

Thank you, Mary Ann and Bill, for sharing your beautifully decorated home. Your cottage is like something you see in a magazine. We just loved our stay there. All the amenities you provided were so helpful: the beach bag I used everyday, the robes, sewing kit, kitchen setup for cooking galore, games, dvds, roku, and I can go on and on.The treats were such a delight-Thank you! This house was so clean. Not a spot of dust, anywhere. We were so close to everything. The ice cream and Thai next doordelicious. Loved The Fountain of Youth, which was 2 blocks away.We walked to the town and restaurants. We drove to the beach, everyday. We had a great time! This was the best VRBO we have ever stayed at!

I have never felt so comfortable in a VRBO home. I really wanted to move in. Professionally decorated, comfortable and loved every immaculate detail of the home. I was concerned about the location to nearby businesses but never heard a sound. Beds were amazing! Loved walking into town and restaurants. Hope to return in the future.

I was blown away by this property found in the middle of St Augustine. It is an old Florida home across from the Fountain Of Youth. I felt like a local moving around the city. The charming decor of the property isn’t just gorgeous and totally fits the age of the architechture. The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee makers and appliances. The owners installed every modern convenience like motion lights, key coded entry, and Wi-Fi. My choice to stay here was the perfect place to stay for a trip to Historic St Augustine. It was so much better than a hotel. I plan to return for a Girl Get Away.

We absolutely love this property. It’s small house living with luxury comfort and the best hosts ever! Walking distance to downtown and great restaurants and shops along the way. Just far enough from the city center to avoid much of the traffic. We actually bought the same mattress as they have here because it was the best nights sleep. This was our 2nd stay here and we will be back!
