Due to guests preferences, the tiny house is located about 20 feet from the garage and 40 feet from the main house. More guests want access to the Wifi and watching the Tv, and using more water, Then views and vibes of being in the woods.
Property was clean and a very friendly host answered all of my questions. They allowed me to check in early. I would highly recommend this property to any couple who has business at Ithaca college. It was a 1 mile walk or drive. Next time I will bring my bike and stay longer
The Tiny house was a beautiful stay for my father who was visiting Ithaca. I also appreciated that they allowed him to check in an hour early, that was very much appreciated It was clean, tidy, and well situated while still having some nature around.
This was a quaint tiny house. Unique for us. Close to our destination.
I visited Ithaca to check out some parks for a couple days before staying downtown for a show. I found this place to be pretty centrally located to Buttermilk Falls SP, Robert Treman SP, Fischer Old Growth forest and a main drag of strip malls, grocery and restaurants. It was easy to find the place using the address and Garmin/Google. It's in a residential area, and behind what looks like another rental unit. Parking is easy. Turn around is easy in the drive. It's a quiet area with very little road noise. One day while I was there it rained and stormed half the day. I'm glad to report that it was not loud and annoying like a trailer can be. The unit was clean, and smelled only vaguely of the toilet. This seems to be brought up in the reviews and let me assure it's not an issue. Once I turned off the fan over the toilet the odor dissipated so I wonder if maybe there's just a filter that needs to be changed in the fan. At any rate, after the first few hours I wasn't bothered by the odor the remainder of my stay. I didn't even notice it when I returned from being out for the day. The kitchen has a coffee maker w/ filters, pourover coffee flask and filter, toaster oven, dorm size fridge and microwave. There are plenty of outlets for them. There's minimal supplies but also minimal space so don't go thinking you'll be cooking a meal for 10. Shower was adequate, warm and they provided body wash, shampoo, and towels. I saw turkeys wandering through the yard every afternoon and once in the morning. There are deer in the area, but they seemed more interested in the neighbor's yard a few doors down. I think the mattress is a futon mattress. I was very comfortable and slept harder than I have in a long time. I really appreciated the relative quiet. There are lights and outlets in the loft and room to set down your tablet or phone. I would absolutely consider staying here again if I find myself in the area.
So over all the experience was great. It was super cool to use a composting toilet and see how much water we were using via tank. Changed our perspective on how we could do things differently in our regular day to day. The only downside to this experience was the location of the tiny home. It was literally behind another home, so not necessarily as exclusive as we had hoped. It was a little hardened to enjoy being outside and the sounds of just nature, though that was not the fault of the owner the others who were renting the home we were literally right behind were very obnoxious. We made do and even were able to cook some great meals in the toaster oven. Definitely taught us a lesson in creativity and sharing a space. Over all super cool experience.
I stayed here for the weekend as my best friend was getting married and it was the perfect little spot for just me.
I have never stayed in a tiny house before. It was truly a great experience. Everything about this day was enjoyable. I hope to return.
So this was a blast. Our stay was quoted educational as well. The very eco -vibe was fun and in a fantastic setting. The efficient use of space was awe inspiring and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. We were also lucky enough to experience a fantastic storm. The second floor loft felt like it was in the middle of the clouds. Booming thunder, lighting, and pouring rain all around me in my cozy little tiny home. Thanks ☀️
Finding the property was easy. The tiny house was adorable, cozy and environmentally conscious with its water use and compost toilet designs. After 3 nights the toilet itself gets a bit fragrant. The water gets nice and hot and the host refilled the tank during our stay. The backyard is shared with the main house which is also a rental property. Close to wineries and parks to hike. Really enjoyed our stay overall!
Short stay
Very cute. We really only slept there, so didn't use any other amenities.
