A lovely view of Lake Cushman filters through the evergreens that surround this two-bedroom home in Hoodsport. With boating, swimming, and hiking all at your fingertips, this is a wonderful place to enjoy the natural beauty of the Olympic Peninsula.
You'll find this home on the east side of Lake Cushman, a matter of steps from the lake overlook, just over a mile from a boat ramp, and only three miles from the boundary to Olympic National Forest. In the other direction, you can be in the heart of Hoodsport (six miles east) in a matter of minutes.
After a day spent in the great outdoors, you'll have beautiful outdoor space of your own back at home - a picnic table where you can enjoy hot dogs roasted over the firepit, a shaded ground-floor patio with a gas grill, and an elevated deck with a gas fire table and a gorgeous view of the woods.
Inside, the main living space is upstairs on the second floor, offering large windows and contemporary furnishings. There's a streaming-capable TV in the living room, a dining room table for six, and a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar. The converted garage is home to all sorts of after-dinner entertainment, including a foosball table, a dart board, and a hoop-shoot basketball game.

Overall, this lodging was well-appointed and worked for our needs. We appreciated having things like extra sheets, washer & dryer, salt, flour, & a coffee grinder on hand. The kids liked the games downstairs. That being said, the location wasn't really ideal. The house is next to the road with only allows glimpses of the lake beyond other cabins, and they seem to have an eccentric neighbor that direction (pink flamingos, blow-up dragons). We expected that we'd be able to scramble down to the lake from the house, but there was absolutely no lake access point and a very limited view. Apparently you can get to the lake elsewhere, but it wasn't immediately clear and we couldn't find the passes listed in the visiter information.
What an amazing house! Such a great base point for all the wonderful things around Lake Cushman! Perfect for a family get away or get away! Clean, great location and quiet!
I think the management company Vacasa and the cleaning company are most at fault for my poor review. The house itself is likely fine if you want to stay close to the lake and the National Forest. We had a terrible time getting access to the property as we were given the wrong door codes and key codes, twice, then told to wait for a local caretaker who never came. Locked out in the dark, we had to make yet another trip down the road to call Vacasa since there was no cell service there at the house. Finally, after the third call to Vacasa, got inside at 9pm, but the house was cold and dirty. The professional cleaners Vacasa promises might have skipped a day. Not vacuumed, dusty/dirty surfaces, plates and cookware that needed to be scrubbed before use. And the local lake access pass that was alluded to in the welcome book was nowhere to be found. Some other renter spilled food in the fridge that I had to clean up. Vacasa has the nerve to charge the cleaning fee. The house has a big deck that was nice to sit on with an outdoor propane fireplace. The distance to the lake and forest is short. There are fun things in the garage to do. But there were two steak knives, no salt and pepper shaker, very hard and worn out beds, and the whole place needs a good scrubbing and sweeping. If I were the owner, I would consider a different property management company. We as renters pay a good amount of additional fees when renting through this Vacasa, and it definitely isn't worth it this time.
We loved this place. Great amenities, location and communication. A+ will be visiting again soon.
Loved our stay at the home. 5mins drive away from access to Lake Cushman. Kitchen is well stocked to cook meals. The garage games were fun for the kids. Outdoor seating was great.
House was awesome. Area was on point. Owners provided a pass for the private lake entrances where there wasn’t a lot of people. Driveway up to the house was a little small, but overall everyone including Vacasa was very helpful and responsive.
This house looks like it was recently remodeled. Everything looks brand new. The bedrooms are massive and both have a nice view of the lake. The kitchen was great and fully stocked it was easy making meals in there. The upstairs deck was a fun place to hang out by the gas firepit and look out at the lake. The downstairs firepit and picnic table are a nice addition and have the best view on the property! The game room provided lots of fun in the evening after our day at the lake. Loved the location of this home. A few minute drive and you are at the nearest park with lake access. The golf course was about a five minute drive and the town of Hoodsport was about ten minutes away. Will definitely stay here again on our next adventure to Lake Cushman and the Olympics!
