Nothing too bad that should turn anyone away. No ice-maker in the fridge which was a bit of a surprise.
Very nice property and a great place to rest and relax. Love the porch swings, location close to beach, and near the restaurants on island. Love the big beds and bathrooms.
The size of the house and location on Kiawah Island.
Overall I am disappointed with the house. There were three issues: 1) dishwasher issue. Imagine going on vacation for a week and having dishwasher issue 2) I paid nearly $10000 for the home for a week and cannot believe the heated pool was extra. There is some price gouging going on here. 3) ac system had trouble keeping the place cool all week. 4) not sure why but the water upstairs didn't work sporadically. I reported it and got any response. I have requested compensation for these issues with no response.
The house is exactly as advertised and as shown in the pictures. The beach is walking distance or a short bike ride away. The kitchen is well stocked for plenty of cooking with pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc. in good condition (not always the case with rentals). It was nice to have the security and ease of a house professionally managed by Vacasa. Bike rentals are available for the whole family including kids bikes, seats and trailers. Most of the island can be enjoyed by bike with numerous safe bike paths.
Great location, only 1/2 mile to the beach with ample parking both at the house and beach. The pool is a saltwater pool which was nice. The pool water was very warm, which our children enjoyed since our stay was early May. There was plenty of room in the home for our family. Just an FYI there were no spices or extra trash bags in the kitchen. I realize these are not items that are guaranteed to be available in a rental, however I just think it’s good to know before you get there. The downstairs shower also had so much water pressure that it actually hurt and I had to start and stop the water several times to get through a shower. Overall our experience was very relaxing. The mgt team was also extremely accommodating as our only issue while staying at the house was that the blender had no lid, and leaked. When I informed them of this, the mgt. team immediately brought a new blender to the house ASAP.
We are frequent visitors to Kiawah and we enjoyed our time at this house. It's located on a quiet street close to the main gate, and it was easy to get to the beach and shopping center. Our children especially enjoyed the heated pool (best heating we've ever had!) and the backyard for playing. There were plenty of pool toys and basketballs to play with. The bike path is accessed right next to the house and there is a preserved nature area on two sides of the house so we found it to be very private. The outdoor spaces could use a good cleaning, but that's due to the gorgeous trees that surround the house so it's a trade we didn't mind. Inside was very clean.
The house next door is under construction. Work -- including incessant sawing -- begins as early as 7:30 am and continues past 6:00 pm. There's little chance for a quiet cup of coffee in the morning or a peaceful cocktail in the early evening, unless you stay indoors. The rental property is beautiful but -- especially for the price being charged -- it is in need of repair. The headboard in the downstairs bedroom is broken, the pool needs painting, the toaster is likely from 1970, the water pressure in the master bath is dismal, and none of the electrical outlets work along the wall of the fireplace. These are minor inconveniences, but they add up.
Agree with all of the other positive reviews! Beautiful home and great location!!! A few points that may be helpful: If you choose to drive to the beach rather than walk/bike, there is ample parking right near the beach, 2 minute drive down Kiawah Beach Dr. The home had some board games and beach towels available. Also, the owners have added a counter top ice maker which is a nice addition. As mentioned in other reviews, the pool is awesome, backyard is private, about 5-6 minute drive to the Harris Teeter and other shops at Freshfields, very well equipped kitchen and nice Weber grass grill. Our family had a great stay and we are looking forward to coming back soon!
This was 2nd time we stayed at this house and it was perfect! Beach in the morning and pool in the afternoon. Very nice and comfortable lodging for family of 5 adults and 4 kids. Will be back again next year!
