Holland, Michigan
Maple Acres is a home situated in a quiet neighborhood and the location between Holland and Saugatuck makes this a perfect place to stay while you visit two great towns. This 2 story home has many amenities inside and out including a fire pit in the backyard, a playset, playhouse, and tire swing.
The home is an early 1900s bungalow. It has one bedroom downstairs (queen size bed) and two upstairs (king in the master bedroom and a bunk bed in the second bedroom). There is a full bathroom on the second floor with a Jacuzzi tub and a half bathroom on the first floor. The stairs to the second floor are a bit steep so use caution and there is a baby gate at the top of the stairs and one available at the bottom of the stairs for those with young children.
The kitchen has everything you need to make a meal from pots and pans to bakeware. We also provide coffee, tea, some spices, flour, and sugar. We even have an ice cream machine, blender, toaster, and more. We also have a gas grill outside, grilling tools, and roasting sticks for the fire pit.
We provide linens, paper towels, toilet paper, dishes, children’s dishes, board games, outdoor games, two smart TVs, firewood, propane for the grill along with dozens of other amenities listed. We also have a washer and dryer you may use, a pack-n-play, and high chair.
The home is located in a quiet, family friendly partially rural neighborhood. Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa are only two miles away. Parks that are close by include the Felt Mansion (4 mi), the Outdoor Discovery Center (5 mi), a bike and walking path (1 mi), Kelly Lake (~1mi) for fishing and kayaking (must provide your own equipment), and a short driving distance (10-20 minutes) to all of the entertainment, attractions, and shopping in both Holland and Saugatuck. The nearest beach access is at two local parks located 3 miles away (beach access via stairs and dunes at Laketown Beach) and 4 miles away (via a .06 mi trail at Saugatuck Dunes State Park).
Other things to note:
The host lives next door.
There are two security cameras located outside. One overlooks the back door and driveway and the other overlooks the front door. These are on at all times and record motion. If the router, wifi, or security cameras are tampered with you will be asked to leave immediately and fined.
Pets, parties, and unregistered guests are also not allowed on the property. If these rules are violated your reservation will be terminated and will be fined $200 per person/pet.
No candle burning is allowed in the home, fireworks are not permitted, and the firepit must not be left unattended. Quiet time is from 10pm-7am.
This home has everything you need and is super clean and organized! Attention paid to every detail. Location was perfect for all things to do in Saugatuck and Holland. Would definitely stay here again!
I have stayed in several VRBO homes over the past few years, but this one has been the best so far, no contest. The home was so cute and clean, located in a very quiet area, and it was absolutely perfect for myself and my two daughters. It was astoundingly well-stocked with everything you could possibly need, and it was all so well organized. The beds were very comfy, as well. And I was VERY pleased to find the fire pit area fully stocked with firewood and kindling! Communication with Jamie was prompt and helpful, and there was even a fun surprise for my younger daughter in the welcome basket! All three of us had a fabulous weekend, and we will DEFINITELY be back!
We've visited southwest Michigan the past several summers, and Maple Acres was the best place we've stayed, by far. The house is beautiful - even nicer in person than in the photos - and was comfortable in every respect. I was impressed by the generous supply of linens, paper products, and kitchen items - we were so well taken care of! The toys in the bunk room, and games in the porch, were also a great help. My kids (10, 8, 6, 4, and almost 2) had an amazing time and were never bored. Outside is wonderful too - the large side yard was shady and comfortable. The playset and tire swing got a lot of use! The deck was perfect for outdoor dinners. We visited beaches in Holland and Saugatuck, but actually quite loved a little beach just a few minutes' drive away. It was so convenient to have a nearby beach so my husband could take the big kids for a short trip while the little kids napped. We hope to stay at Maple Acres many more times and we'll be recommending it to others as well!
We all loved our stay at Maple Acres! The house was very clean, well organized, and well stocked. The kids (ages 2-11) loved the yard games, toys in the house, and the play set in the yard, as well as all the space to run around. The welcome basket with bubbles and snacks was a lovely touch. There was a pack and play, high chair, and even sippy cups and toddler utensils in the house. The staircase was steep, but there was a gate at the top. Overall a perfect place to stay for a family. Beds were very comfortable, and communication with Jamie was always prompt and helpful. We had a small issue during our stay that was resolved immediately after contacting the host. Location was very convenient to Holland and Saugatuck, and Jamie provided tons of great recommendations of things to do and see in the area. We hope to be back soon and will be telling all of our friends about this place!
The property was beautiful, house is older but clean and comfortable. The host was thoughtful and left snacks, some supplies in the kitchen (oils, seasoning, paper plates, ziplock), supplied dry wood for the fire pit, marshmallows sticks and fire starters. I also really appreciated all the pamphlets and welcome book with ideas and suggestions on things to do in the area. It’s about a 15-20 min ride from downtown Holland, less than 10 mins from a grocery store, hiking and Captain Sundue (definitely recommend). Host was also very responsive when we had a problem and corrected it quickly. Only downfall to the property was shower water pressure wasn’t the greatest (but it was workable) and the stairs going upstairs are on the steep side. They do have a gate and grippers on the steps which helped and Was fine for everyone but my 10yr old did take a tumble down them… but he is clumsy. Overall it was a lovely property and great host… I would definitely recommend!
They have thought of every detail in this house. It was a great stay.
The house was perfect for our family. The kids loved the toys upstairs and all the space to play outside. We all loved the fire area and big porch. Jamie has so many things in place that make your stay easy such as spices and Tupperware to shampoo and a lot of extras. The welcome basket was a great touch a d the kids loved the snacks. We will be returning on our next trip.
Maple Acres was an amazing rental property. It was clean, spacious, and exactly what we needed for a family getaway. Jamie had a personalized gift basket waiting us -- an amazing touch. For families, the place was well stocked -- they had a pack and play and a high chair. We were very impressed, and if we ever come back to the area we'll definitely be re-booking.
My mother, sister, brother and 2 y/o daughter had a wonderful time. The home was cozy, welcoming, and the children amenities were so appreciated! It was the first time traveling w/ my daughter and that went exactly as expected - this home was so great to get to and we had a great visit. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
We really enjoyed our stay at Maple Acres! Our son and longtime girlfriend finally got married and we are so happy that we were able to celebrate with them and our three grandchildren. The house was perfect for us and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Jamie answered all my questions quickly and made this an easy process. We will definitely stay here again should we have the opportunity.
