BEACH: The path to Riley Beach is located right at the edge of our property. The path is about 100 yards long and takes you to the top of the dune. Riley Beach is a public beach with limited parking so it is typically pretty quiet. It's where the locals tend to go to avoid the crowds at other beaches. There's a beautiful view of the water at the top of the path and then several private areas to sit and enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan. Head down to the water for lots of fun!
WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT THE COTTAGE: Growing up in Holland, we spent most of our summers at Lake Michigan. After moving to Florida, we always wanted a place where we could spend time with our extended family and enjoy the lake! The Cottage at Riley Beach is just that! We love the easy access to the beach and the peacefulness around the cottage. It's just what we were hoping for--a place to enjoy family, the lake and get away from it all! Just minutes away are some of our favorite spots (Captain Sundae, Lolo's, Sandy Point Restaurant...) and the bike path is perfect for the family. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
*Please be aware that Lake MI water levels are cyclical and are high right now. This makes the sandy path to the beach a bit steep but totally worth it. If you have guests in your party with mobility issues, we recommend Holland State Park for beach access.

We love this property so much. There is so much to do. The games in the garage are great, there are an assortment of board games, the fire pit, the beach nearby, the bikes. It makes for a very easy vacation.
We absolutely had a blast staying at this home. It's not large, but had plenty of space for 4 adults and 3 kids. The ability to walk to the beach is a major selling point along with the proximity to Holland. Would definitely book again!
The home was very comfortable, and the children just loved the garage activities. The adults loved the bicycles. Access to the beach is incredible. And the host had chairs and toys and towels! We cooked most of our meals and found the kitchen to be well stocked. We enjoyed the fire pit and picnic table. It was a short drive to everything we wanted to see.
Such a beautiful home that accommodated our group of 12. Beautiful home, beautiful property. Highly recommend
Loved this home. It had everything we needed! Lots of beds, linens for all, a stocked kitchen, toiletries in showers, firewood and a location to die for!! We will be back!
Loved this property! We had great weather and the house had everything we needed. There was some construction on the property behind us that was loud at times but that couldn't be helped. Over all it was an amazing time. Thank you!
This house and location exceeded our expectations! The house is super clean and comfortable (including beds). The host has went out of their way to ensure an entertaining stay. Lots of games for inside and out. The house came with plenty of board games and the garage housed air hockey and ping pong along with others! They had toys to play in the sand and a ton of beach chairs. They also provided a ton of beach towels. They also provided yard games such a corn hole and others. The bikes were also a wonderful touch. Plenty of bikes for our group of 8. We took two bike rides along the paved sidewalk along Lakeshore Drive. It was nice to see all of the beautiful homes along the way. The house has a wonderful fire pit area and deck. We enjoyed these areas most mornings and nights. I also appreciated the Bose speaker to have music at the fire pit. The house is extremely close to the beach. It is steep to get down and up, but most people could make it. My elderly grandparents and mom didn't try it, but Holland State Park (right down the road), and Windsnest Park have easier access points. Windsnest is beautiful! Nice little playground area and clean restrooms. The beach is beautiful. The host provided us with all of this information. Thank you! We really enjoyed Crust 54 pizza as well. We really enjoyed our time at the house! My only suggestion to those coming is to bring a few more washcloths :).
The property was very well equipped and suited our family's needs but we had a couple of issues. We found that the photo of fire pit was out dated in that a mega-mansion is being built just a few feet away. Not only did it obstruct the view, but work started every morning at 7:00 a.m. so sleeping late in the upstairs bedroom was not an option. Our only other issue was the sandy path to the beach. The VRBO listing didn't mention that it was up and over a very steep sand dune that couldn't be accessed by the two older memebers of our family. With even the slightest mobility issued this dune is too much since there are no steps.
My family had a wonderful stay here. It was clean and had everything we needed. The game tables in the garage were such a nice bonus, gave the kids something to do while we were cooking dinner. We would definitely stay here again.
Property had plenty of space for extended family ages 1-70! Walk to beach was a little steep for the older to walk down. Plenty of beach gear and the garage/ game room was great
