Trout fishing from the dock is great year round. If you want to catch the really BIG fish the best time is February through Early June. These dates also coincide with our lowest rates!

Many Donner “lakefront” properties are actually across the highway and use narrow, small, and crowded first come first serve public docks; our home is on the lake’s SHORE and the dock is PRIVATE, large, boat friendly, carpeted and comfy with a swim ladder!

Unlike other listings the pictures and views in our listing are ALL taken from OUR property.

Arcade machines take coins to operate.
Pinballs take coins or credit card. 15 games $14.50. Pinballs are set for long easy fun play, 4-6 balls per game.

A licensed captain and experienced Donner Lake Fishing Guide can take up to 6 guests out on Donner Lake for several hours of fishing in a fully equipped heated boat. Very large fish are often caught AND No Fishing Experience or Equipment Necessary!

Boat trips are not guaranteed, are weather and safety dependent and subject to reservation slots being available from the guide service. We request you and the guide provide pictures and Guest agrees we may use pictures/details of your trip or catches in our listing. Typical guide services run $350 for 2 persons before discount. Extra persons $175 each. Discount will come in the form of rebate from us in combination with discounted services from the guide when you or the guide supply pictures of catches we can use in our listing or proof of booking of a pre-approved guide service.

FAQ...HOW DO I GET THAT LOWER POSTED NIGHTLY RATE
Save $$$ by adding that extra day to your weekend stay! Previously we did not allow 2 night stays there was just too much prep labor for each guest changeover to break even. In order to accommodate short stays we now charge a per stay property fee and lowered our nightly rate. This allows short stays by spreading the minimum we need to charge across the nightly rate so longer stays have much lower nightly rate. Simply adding 1 night to a 2 night stay substantially lowers your nightly rate!

Book that extra night and enjoy a more relaxing vacation. Even if you don't stay the extra night you will be able to enjoy an extra full day at the property and a leisurely check out after a 2 night stay.

Book the low season or weekdays. Pre-summer and fall are amazing experiences (especially here at the lake) and cost less than half summer bookings. You get more days for less and get to enjoy the area without the crowds.

Our home has 2 queen-sized beds and a sofa bed in the front room. We don’t want to rent to large groups. This is not a party cabin. It is perfect for a small family or a couple or two.

No smoking or pets are allowed anywhere on property.

Thank you for your interest in our Donner Lake home. This comfortable Donner Lake lakefront 2 bedroom/1 bathroom is right on the water with large windows and beautiful lake views from every window. This is the lake level quarters of a 2 unit custom home. Wake up to a view of the lake and forested granite mountains. Walk down 3 flights of stairs and jump in the lake or cast out a line.

Walk down a pathway toward the lake to the entrance. There is a living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a laundry room and a full bathroom. The rental is completely self-contained. The kitchen has a stove/oven, a refrigerator, and a gas BBQ. The bath includes all the necessities. There is cable TV, a DVD player, a stereo and high-speed internet access.

Go down a flight of carpeted stairs to a carpeted (soft on your bare feet and great for laying out) private dock where you can moor a boat, a PWC, try your luck at fishing, swim, or simply relax.

Our home has 2 queen-sized beds and a sofa bed in the front room. We don’t want to rent to large groups. This is not a party cabin. It is perfect for a small family or a couple or two.

Access to our home involves 2 flights of landscaped stone steps (caution, some may be loose!) without railings and 3 additional wooden flights of stairs with railings from the entrance to the dock. There is enough room to park two vehicles in front of the house.
There may or may not be a host living upstairs at the time of your stay. The host is quiet and we have never had any complaints. You may run into him on the dock or in the parking pad. If you have any problems getting into the place just give the phone number a call or knock on the door and he will help you out.
Truckee restaurants and shops are 15 minutes from the house.

Town of Truckee 4th of July fireworks are the only pyrotechnic display in the area but are subject to cancellation by others*
