The property is located in Yucca Valley, a small town nestled in the Little San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 3,300 feet. The area is renowned for its striking landscape, outdoor recreational activities, rich heritage, and regional attractions. The closest, and perhaps most popular destination while in Yucca is Joshua Tree National Park, a mere 6.6 miles away. Joshua Tree is characterized by its twisted, bristled trees and is defined by two unique ecosystems. The terrain of Joshua is fascinating on its own and the park is alluring to people of all interests. The property is also less than 3 miles from Route 62, a vintage highway that offers the convenience of restaurants, grocery stores, and specialty shops. For those who want to venture out, the property is approximately 21 miles from Twentynine Palms, 29 miles from Palm Springs, and 70 miles from San Bernardino. Pioneertown is only 12 minutes away, established in 1946 when Dick Curtis shared his dream for a "Living Breathing Movie Set". More than 5o films & serials were filmed in Pioneertown during the 194o's and 195o's. Today, Mane Street in Pioneertown still retains its charm and old west image A number of different retail stores are located on Mane Street, including the General Mercantile/Local Art Studio, a Pottery Shop, Goat Soap Shop and the Custom Leather & Saddle Shop. There are also numerous false fronts in town like the Bank, Bath House, Likker Barn, Jail, the Jack Cass Saloon and the Mining Co. Great for pictures, fun for kids and a great distraction to help you forget about the hustle of the big city. You can even catch a gunfight on Mane Street some Summer weekends.
We absolutely loved the location and style of this home. We enjoyed the view and the desert being in bloom. We hiked in Joshua Tree every day we were there. Highly Recommend
The property is in a great location for views and proximity to other key locations. It was clean and comfortable. It housed my family of 6 comfortably.
Beautiful place in a beautiful location. We have never been to the desert and it was an awesome way to say it would recommend to any one. Owner was very responsive. Loved the place.
Our planned vacation turned out to be in the middle of some wintery weather in the High Desert. This home was a perfect base for our time in Joshua Tree with stunning views of the area.
The property sliding door to the master was open, empty propane cans were around the back of the house, and tiles were missing outside and laid on the countertop. The place itself appeared clean, but it smelled like it had been closed up, and immediately I was experiencing breathing issues, but I was able to remedy it. I can only assume when essential details like the sliding four are open upon arrival. The Heat never worked, so the entire stay, it was cold. When we called, they came by and left one extra heater the last night for a four-bedroom home, so we had to rotate it throughout the night. They still have not returned my email regarding how they would like to address it or offer guest recovery, and they have not yet responded.
The first thing we noticed was little communication from the owner of the house. There was no welcome book, detailing where stuff is located, how to turn things on, etc. We could not get the heat to work and at one point it was 57 degrees in the house! On top of that we had ice cold bath and showers! I communicated directly via text 5 separate times and called 3 times. I was told they would get back to me and they did not. The morning we left the gas company showed up and said we had no gas!!! Not sure if they didn't pay the bill or if the propane was out. The owner reached out to me late on Monday night (we had already checked out Monday morning and were long gone) and wanted us to keep the water running to try and get the water hot. The worst customer service I've ever had on a VRBO. Not happy and would like a refund on my stay!
Beautiful view, beautiful house, close to the park entrance (10min). All necessary shops around.
We enjoyed our stay here. Watching the sunrise and sunset were breathtaking. The outside fire pit and hot tub were a great addition. The floor-to-ceiling windows and natural light was perfect. Everything was clean and check-in was a breeze. Will definitely be back.
I really want to give this house a 5 but must do 4+. Positives: it’s a challenge finding 4 bedrooms with only Q and K beds. We had a baby, and that family used the master bedroom and that room was perfect. The closet was huge and held the bassinet. Well-stocked Kitchen, only missing a 2 quart vessel for our iced tea. Plenty of towels. The beds were super comfy with great comforters with washable duvets, very important to me. The only TV we used was in the LR and we used our own codes for Netflix etc. So close to Joshua Tree and Pappy & Harriet’s and Vons. New BBQ on the patio, which we did not use. The views are … OMG. I also chose this house in case we had poor weather and we were stuck inside. Comfy. Lots of throws. Big living room. Easy entrance and exit. Fine Wifi. Never had to call management. (Disclaimer: a guest was a engineer who figured out the firepit etc. It’s the first house I’ve rented with no welcome book). So, rent this house! Negatives: Mine is a family of readers. Only the master bedroom had adequate lighting to read in bed. Had I known, I would have brought my floor lamp. Seriously. It was cold and windy outside —so outside was a NO. That’s an easy fix, but this property is for sale, so I’m guessing that’s not going to be changed. The cool telescope was a BIG draw for my nerdy family, however, there was no eyepiece. Just a photo prop, folks. My nephew checked out the hot tub jacuzzi and reported it was not clean. I highly recommend this house. We had a blast.
