Well-managed beach house, kind and responsive owner, lovely interior, well-stocked kitchen. A great trip overall! excellent use of space: four roomy bedrooms, each with its own bathroom AND also three very usable decks, so you can follow the shade and change the view. Great, solid deck furniture with Adirondack chairs made cocktail hour loads of fun! The main gathering space isn't huge, but we spent so much time outdoors it wasn't a problem. The decks are high enough up that you don't get mosquito bitten, and I have to say (because I hate bugs), that this house was bug-free indoors! There are plenty of ants out on the driveway, so anything you leave out front will get crawled on, but that's just reality :) Marilyn was so kind and accommodating, and we enjoyed the house's location with basically a 7-8 minute walk to beach, tennis, or pool (a useful footpath to beach). Food Lion was just two minutes more, and we enjoyed early morning exercise, walking the neighborhood, seeing many others doing the same. A very nice community! Hope to come back.

The house was perfect - enough private space if you need it, a great gathering space for all to cook and play games! House is close to the grocery store and anything you might need. Nice decking on the house as well to watch beautiful sunsets.

This was a great place to stay for our family vacation. It was close to so many things and the beach access was easy to get to.

Our stay at Marooned was fabulous. We had great weather and the house was very accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. We really enjoyed the decks and the short walk to the pool and beach. The communication with the host was easy and she responded very timely. I would stay here again.

We had an amazing trip and truly enjoyed staying at Marooned. The host was very gracious and checked in on us throughout the week to make sure we had what we needed. We received great communication and responses to our questions before and during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked to meet our needs for the meals we prepared. The balconies provided great spaces to enjoy the breeze and read a good book. The location was perfect for us. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Our first time to The Outer Banks and we stayed at Marooned. It was the perfect choice for a rental and a perfect location for us. The home is tastefully decorated and has everything you would need to enjoy a week long family vacation. The amount of bathrooms to bedrooms was nice for everyone as well. I intentionally looked at locations in the lower banks and settled on Avon. The location of the rental home is perfect. Just a short walk to the beach or the pool in the subdivision. Restaurants and stores are close by and most within walking distance. The drive further south to Hatteras was peaceful and the drive to Corolla wasn't bad at all. Marooned was exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy spending time with family. We will be back!

Marooned was, by far, the best house we have rented. We have been coming to the Outer Banks for 30 years and this rental was the nicest and most accommodating house ever. We had 2 families stay and it was more than enough space for all of us. The furnishings were amazing. It was very clean and was fully stocked! Working with the owners were fantastic, they checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend this house.

This was a great place to stay for an extended family vacation. There was enough space for everyone to be comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities and the large fridge was great for our needs. The beach and pool are each about a 5 min walk which was also great. Overall I would definitely recommend this home for a nice family getaway.
