Family group stayed here for a family reunion. The home was nice and spacious and worked well for our group of adults. The boat was a nice feature which saved us time and money. Location is amazing.
Lots of room and amenities for our group to enjoy. We had a wonderful time.
Location, Location, Location. If you are looking for a quiet place right on Leech Lake this is the place. Nestled in Pumphouse bay on Leech lake facing east, this place is great. Very clean, very well equipped, and lots of room. From decks to screen in porch, to a bar outside, this property will be great for people looking to escape, yet have all the amenities. Plenty of room for a large family or group of friends.
Wonderful home on Lakeside. Swimming and boating. Nick was a superb host. Could not ask for more.
Because there were no reviews and this property was new on VRBO we were not sure what to expect. The owner allowed us to check in a little early which was nice. It was quickly clear that someone still occupies the home with their stuff in drawers, food in the kitchen and mail person coming to the door to drop off a package. A tree did fall and the owner stopped by to clean it up and then asked to go into the home to get something….he also showed up another day unannounced and was out in his garage! There are water toys to use, but no adult life jackets. Owner did say we could go buy some and he would reimburse us, which we opted to not do. The boat is older, smokes and uses a lot of gas which is hard to detect from the picture. It is a steep hill with uneven steps from the cabin to water with no railing - caution to the elderly. There are only a few plastic chairs up by the cabin, no chairs at the fire pit which is half way down the stairs on the way to the lake and no chairs on the dock. The lake is extreme clean, the trampoline was very fun for the kids and we had fun playing darts at the outside bar. The place had some newer updates as the picture shows - 2 bedrooms are upstairs with the king bed in the lower level with a smaller bathroom which does need some bath towels for guest use. My recommendations: many VRBO’s have a guest manual to explain where to find things and how to work things such as : how to operate a Chromecast or where to find the water toys, life jackets, ropes etc.
Our family had a fabulous time at this beautiful lake home! The open concept of the kitchen, dining area, and living room was a wonderful space to gather and eat and play games! The screened in porch was a sweet coffee, conversation, and reading area--even when it rained a day. We enjoyed several meals on the deck. The dock and water trampoline were perfect for lake and sun time. We brought a couple of kayaks and a paddleboard--it was fun exploring the bay and branching out to other parts of Leech Lake by going under bridges. On some days we felt like we had the bay to ourselves. The owners let us use their boat which was a generous addition! We had a nice tour of the lake and trip to Shingobee On The Bay Restaurant where we ate on the dock overlooking the lake. Downtown Walker also has a wide variety of fun shops when we went during a rainy day. When I asked questions, the owners were prompt with each response. We didn't want to leave, and we miss waking up to that beautiful lake view and sound of the loons! We would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway!
Can't say enough! Nick was amazing to work with! Great communication before we arrived and then provided helpful information about the lake and property when we got there. The property itself has absolutely everything you could need! Comfortable, beautiful, and spacious! We only had four people staying, but easily fits many more families. The location on the lake is perfect! Quiet bay conveniently located with great access to the larger lake. Having the boat to use throughout the weekend was the icing on the cake. We were able to explore the lake and find nearby restaurants with ease! Water trampoline, fire pit, screened-in porch, and beautiful deck to enjoy! There really wasn't much more we could have asked for! We look forward to renting this property again!
