The house was clean, contained everything needed in a kitchen, has enough space for gathering and privacy at the same time. The property is spacious with many trails to explore. Wether you are looking to relax, go on an adventure or just get away peacefully - this is the place!
There were 5 ladies over 65 and we had a great stay but too many stairs for 2 of them. We didnt have tv because we didnt have firestick or roku but we survived without it. All in all it was a great house and vacation.
The house was exactly what we needed!! Plenty of bedrooms and one on the main floor. The location was very nice, a great place to unwind and enjoy nature. Short walk to a creek, if you have children. Will definitely stay there again.
My family had stayed in this home before. We had a wonderful visit and attended our nieces wedding. We recently lost our brother and were fortunate to be able to stay at this home again. We had many other family members staying close by and were able to have them come by after the funeral service. My family is so thankful to have been able to stay in this place. I hope to come back again.
This beautiful, spacious home is perfectly located for lots of hiking with breathtaking views. The home is clean and perfect for a family getaway. The property is wonderful for kids to explore. The fire pit is great for memories in the evening. We will stay here again!
Always a great stay. We’ve used this property for several years, it’s a beautiful setting to enjoy nature.
We rented this house for 3 families to stay in while we rode sxs at the black mountain off-road park. The house had plenty of space for us inside and plenty of parking room for 3 trucks and trailers. We enjoyed it! Secluded house right off the golf course, a few minutes from town. The property owner contacted us several times to make sure we were happy customers too! Will rent it again for the next trip!
Wow, When we arrived at the home, it didn't look that big but once we got inside, the house just kept going. So many rooms! We all walked through exploring and picking out our rooms. Once settled in, we were still exploring the home, all the little hall ways that lead to different areas of the home. The kitchen was good size, as well as the bedroohikiand bathrooms. We took a walk on the walking path, we walked to find a tunnel, along a twisting and turning creek with waterfalls in coming down the hills. The trail was too overgrown to walk up. In the evenings when we got back from riding the twisties, mountains. We would sit in the deck or the front porch and talk about our day, plenty of spacious rooms in the home We all had a great time. Thank you.
First, we would stay here at the Golden’s family home again! We are a family of ten that easily spread out in this historic family home located at the base of Pine Mountain, just 5 minutes from Pineville in Eastern KY. It overlooks a prestigious golf course, and is as close to the state park as you can get without staying at the Park Lodge or cabins. It has its own portion of Asher-Clear Creek running on the property. It is in Daniel Boone country, is near Cumberland Gap and also the birthplace of Harlan Sanders KFC. What more could you want?! The family property has an old railroad / county road running along it that actually connects to Pine Mountain park trails. This trail is full of interesting railroad artifacts including a tunnel, old walking bridge, swimming holes, and natural rock formations. The house itself is like many older family homes, grown over time, full of memories, perfectly clean, a little worn on the edges that only adds to the charm, but equipped with modern conveniences. Jim Golden was always available and easy to contact. We were in a private space away from crowds, and had tons of inside and outside room to explore. The s’mores and wieners at the fire pit, fully equipped with split logs, was a blast. One of our group did some successful catch and release fishing. Some may prefer a 5* hotel, but this was PERFECT for our family. Enjoy!
lots of places to hike to. the overview was amazing.
