Private fabulous views including woodland reserve - Private Cedar Hot Tub

Fantastic location. Great for our large group. Well stocked kitchen.

It's a big and quiet property, good size bedrooms, two bathrooms one upstairs one downstairs, shower space is small, lounge is nice, like the balcony upstairs, has a nice view of the mountains, very warm and comfortable to sleep at night. However, the whole house can be cleaner, bedroom furniture really needs an upgrade or fresh paint over again, kitchen stove was the big problem for us it kept turning off when I were using the oven so we couldn't cook multiple dishes at the same time, it took us over 2 hours to finish cooking that could get done within 45mins, even though we made contact with Amie and she gave us tips regarding the stove, it was still troublesome. Just before we checked out, we had to clean the whole house and put everything back to where they were, that was a bit too much on top of the payment. Overall, it is an interesting experience.

Great property for a family. Very spacious and cosy. Only suggestion would be a split air conditioner upstairs as it can be very hot in summer. Would be perfect in winter or slightly cooler months. I would recommend this spacious property.

Was great place but oven does not go

Overall the place was a bit worn but nice, the kids enjoyed the lounge which isn't pictured in the listing.However we did encounter a few issues:The driveway isn't usable for low vehicles - it could definitely do with some maintenance. However as others have noted, street parking is available.The oven door did not close properly - in order for us to use the oven we needed to prop it closed with a chair.The upstairs toilet vent was blowing air with a strong smell of paint/chemicals - we kept the door closed to stop it spreading. The TV remote didn't work properly. Needed to unplug the TV entirely and plug it back in multiple times to get it to work.There is a DVD player, but the DVD's the kids were interested in had been removed - also some of the cases contained xbox games and other random discs. Fortunately Netflix worked well.Bathroom soap dispensers were mostly empty and we couldn't find refills.

The host didn't answer my messages before we arrived. She didn't send me an email outlining what i needed to bring. ( bed sheets, towels and even toilet paper. She was argumentative on the phone when i did finally get hold of her, but calmed down after a while. House wasn't as clean as i would have expected. And the outside rubbish bin was overflowing, with rubbish blowing around that part of the section. I originally booked her house because it had a hot tub. However it was locked up when we arrived. She told me over the phone that it was very clear on the listing that there was an additional charge for using the hot tub. Its actually in the fine print down the bottom of the listing. Being that she didn't reply to my messages before i got there i had no opportunity to arrange for the used of the hot tub anyway. She did offer for us to use it for free, however since the rest of the place was below my expectation of cleanliness I didn't feel comfortable using the tub.Overall a disappointing experience.

lots of empty beer can around the entrance, lots of hair in the shower room.Oven did not work.And we used hot spa, they charged us fix cost for hot tub cover, but that was already old and some parts were broken, we never broken it, we replied, but no response from themPlease take a picture if there is any damage when you arrive there, otherwise they ask you for that.

House was ok, not the cleanest place and I think this is due to tenants cleaning it themselves. Would be cautious if going with a toddler as the cot is set at bassinet height and couldn’t be changed easily. Glad we brought our portacot as the cot wasn’t safe in the height it was set. Also a lot of stairs, including gravel stairs to get to the front door, so be aware if you need easier accessibility. High chair was great, no workable baby gate at the top of the stairs. Had the gate but not the right attachments to install. Location was good.

My son and family loved their stay

Not suitable for active kids under 6. The door that blocks the stairs for babies wasn’t working properly so we weren’t able to fit it and block the stairs for the crawling babyThe ladder to the loft is dangerous, I would say that even though there is a sign that says supervision required, there should be a sort of way to block kids to go in there easily unless a certain height. .Specially if your kids are active. It was a nightmare to having to watch them at all times and few tension moments.The property is nice, I would say that needed a proper clean and I feel we left it cleaner than it was when we arrived. And definitely heaps of sandflies inside the house which was annoying.

Advertising says private cedar hot tub and it is included in amenities list but is 30 per day extra. House was very dusty and unclean. Dust may have been from the storm but side of fridge door filthy, bedside table crusty filthy. removed hair from downstairs shower but still blocked - will need drano, shower floor filthy. Floor in front of fridge has had something running out of freezer. All in all we felt like we’d rented a house and were expected to clean it. Communication with owner disappointing and not understanding at all. Have stayed in lots of Bookabach and this was our worst experience. Have never given a bad review before. Would not stay again.

Nice stay - enjoyed ver much

We really enjoyed our stay. Very well stocked kitchen including wine glasses, cocktail shaker and glasses, air fryer, slow cooker, coffee machine, teapot, quality cookware, and basic cooking ingredients. BYO coffee plunger though! The sunny dining area was really nice, and the electric blankets on all the beds were appreciated. The driveway required a high clearance vehicle, we recommend not attempting it in a two wheel drive or in the dark!!

This was a great holiday house for our family.Walking distance to the town, hot pools, mountain bike tracks and walking tracks.House was lovely warm and inviting. Driveway is steap but tou can park on the aide if worried. Wood fire is amazing heats the house well.

Beautiful, great location! Lots of small details that made it a wonderful stay (blankets, games, appliances)! We went mid winter and it was super warm. There is a pretty sharp incline to flat at the top of the drive which will probably scrape the bottom of your car if its not a truck, but the was heaps of roadside parking and its not far at all from the front door!

Great location and warm accomodation with 4 large rooms ideal for friends and family.Recommend booking the hot tub.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Good size property that catered for x2 sets of grandparents, parents and teenage kids.The woodburner, provided lovely warmth on a cold winter day.

Lovely house, good location. Only thing we would like to mention is that it could do with a new mattress on the bed left room, double bed, very soft and bumpy when you lay in it with 2 people

Owner was very helpful, when we arrived, previous occupants hadn't cleaned and she was very accomodating. Lovely sunny warm property. Stairs are steep and access and parking is tricky so if you have injuries be are of this. One of the beds was broken but there are plenty of beds if your group size is around 5. We would happily stay here again even with the challenges of the stairs.

Was a nice warm house with everything that we needed, was a little concerned that the loft hadn’t been cleaned or checked as there was food, bottle caps and wasps in there. Great that all bedrooms are on the ground floor but for lighter sleepers not so good as you can hear every footstep from above. Found the security camera that was by the deck a little invasive and felt like our privacy was being invaded a little.

Very comfortable and had everything we needed , short walk down town to the hot pools , would stay again

Home is nice, view is beautiful, just a few small complaints. The driveway is only designed for Suv's and trucks with ground clearance. This needs to be noted as my car got damaged. The camera facing out onto the deck felt a bit invasive.Towels,bedsheets and spa really needs to be included in the vost. anf

Unfortunately my worst experience with a holiday home. We ended up staying elsewhere and left 10 minutes after arriving. First of all property was nothing like the photos. It was very small and outdated, pics made it look so much bigger. There was also a security camera facing the back bbq/decking area which felt like a huge invasion of privacy. I booked this trip for my recently widowed sister and family who flew down from Auckland. Unfortunately as someone who was a first time user of bookabach we were unaware that we were meant to bring our own bed linen (which is difficult when flying from outside of Christchurch. When i called the owner to ask if i could hire some linen (very basic request) i was absolutely shocked by the way in which she spoke. I was told on the phone she would rather just ‘cancel the booking’ after spending so much time/travel etc flying from Auckland. We were told it was ‘disgusting’ not to bring linen. I requested the hot tub which was locked when i arrived and when i asked about this was told that if im not going to be responsible enough to fill the tub up to just not bother using it. Overall just a really condescending unpleasant woman to deal with. I have never been spoken to in such an inappropriate manner from someone in the hospitality sector. Honestly do yourself a favour and dont book this house. Its cheap for a reason!

Love this house, love the view, the ease of access to Conical Hill and the walking tracks. It's well laid out with the bedrooms downstairs, plenty of comfy beds, fire place upstairs which allows the house to get really warm, the kids loved the loft. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The hot tub was awesome too. Loved the stay. Thank you :)

Lovely view. The driveway is quite dangerous, we tried to drive up it but decided to park out on the road. House was roomy and had all we needed but not very clean on arrival and couches/beds were pretty dated.We had thought there was a pool but turns out that was just the hot tub. Owner contacted several times with lengthy conversations as was getting hot tub fixed when we were there...was meant to be a couple of hours but the man was there all day until 6

Was great, clean and tidy.Great for family.

Communication with host was terrible. Also, I knowing that 10 people were going to be there for 2 nights we were left with 4 toilet rolls. Spa wasnt working when i requested it via text and bookabach message. Only to be advised at 11pm the nignt we got there it hasnt been working for ages. The spa was one of the reasons we chose that property.

Happy overall. Only negative was the driveway

Had a group of 7 adults, there were plenty of sleeping spots, great cooking utilities and heating options provided. Only critique is that the loft has not had proper cleaning in some time and so has an off putting smell.

it was great thank you, once the fire was sorted. The downstairs bathroom was pretty dirt with mould. We have cleaned it. Blankets and heating etc in the frosts were wonderful. Kitchen great. Thank you very much.
