We very much enjoyed our stay, thank you!
Really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and almost everything as advertized. Nice view of the Marina out back. Was nice to have the 65 large screen TV in the living room. It's surprising how many places have 40-50 inch TV's as they don't cost that much. Normally we go on vacation to be outside and dont use the TV's much but it rained all day one day and it came in nice! It appears a previous guest may have broken the coffee pot so we used the Kurig machine instead. We would stay there again!
There were only 2 bad reviews out of 20 when I looked. Those 2 were spot on!!! Baseboards and corners were filthy! Small gnat like bugs were coming out of the drains in kitchen and bathrooms. Outside balcony was dirty, full of cobwebs and had a rug too big for the space curled up so it could be easily tripped on. All the rugs inside were worn and need replaced! The 2nd bedroom STILL smells like cat urine. The shower in the master bathroom had no water pressure and would not stay hot. I was told someone would come by to look at it and no one ever showed up. Don't get fooled by the view!!!! This place is a wreck!
We enjoyed the porch and being on the water. It was super easy getting our boat launched and at the dock. The appliances and kitchen gear were excellent. Needs a pest treatment and a refresh of the a/c to help with mustiness. Very nice to walk to dinner and live music, and neighbors were very friendly!
Mostly this was a very comfortable stay. The condo is nicely laid out and spacious for two. We extended our booking by 4 days, so that says a lot. On the downside, there were minor annoyances with the wireless and door-locking, and we couldn’t get the washing machine to work. Also, the boat that the listing said would be available was not. Upsides included a filtered water tap, the ever-replenishing supply of ice in the fridge, the sunset view from the screened-in porch, and of course, being right on the water. Would stay again.
Great place, was like a home away from home and would love to go back again.
OK, there are some real b for this place but we must discuss the 3,000 pound elephant outside the front door first. That elephant is the lock on the door and the confusing directions for the entry code. We were assigned a 10 digit code with the instructions keypad lock on the door only, do not use elock code. I have no idea what the elock code is, neither did my friend. Anyway, the 10 digit code NEVER worked, my wife called and said that there appears to instructions to only use the last four-digits of the 10-digit code. That did not work, after several calls we were given a code to a lock box, and voila, we have three keys - but none of them work. Several calls further and we were told a maintenance man would be there in 20 minutes, never came during our stay. We had to get a maintenance man from the marina to come over and he was able to use a totally different code we were given (only 4 digits), jiggle the lock numerous times and finally with the key open the door. We had to go out a back door the rest of our stay, as the lock on the front door never worked while we were there. We were given a $100 credit over the phone, we'll see if it materializes. Now the rest, its an old (1978) Jim Walter home thathas been refurbrished. Looks nice inside, there is a screened porch, well stocked inside, plenty of towels, toilet paper, even tissues. There are kayaks, we never used as we were there to fish and Walker's Marine is right out back, you can walk over there, which we did. Directions on garbage day were wrong, its not Tuesday, - its Thursday. Strange AC set up, one in living room had an error code with no explanation and never worked. If you are coming to fish, it's perfect, otherwise, watch out for that door and confusing code and no screen will stop the no-see-ums!.
We stayed at this property for a family vacation. We are a family of 6 with kids ages: 14, 12,4, and 2. We arrived at the property after 10 hours on the road with a car full of kiddos and the entry door code that was sent via email day of for check in was invalid. Had to call Vacasa to have them send a new code, which didn’t work, then have a the lock box code to have a key to manually unlock the door to find the lock on the door spinning and never engaged the lock. I expressed I felt very uneasy about this check in with the representative on the phone. It felt very sketchy. The representative was able to get the property management company on the phone and a working door code was finally given after about 45 minutes in the heat with children who were ready to get out of the car. We get inside you can tell it’s an old building but has been remodeled and was pretty decent, not decent enough for what I paid to stay there but decent. We explore the apartment and start settling in claiming beds and we find the bedroom with the single queen bed to reek of straight cat urine. It was absolutely awful! I was furious. I called Vacasa back to express my concern and frustration they ensured me the property management would call me with in the hour and come out to assess the property. Never received a call, text, email, or visit. I could not spend my entire vacation fighting about this questionable choice of stay so unfortunately we just kept the door shut and were unable to use an entire room and bed that we paid for. My oldest kids had to sleep on the couch in the living room and my husband, myself, and the little ones slept in the bedroom with the double beds. The community it’s self was cute but a hit or miss on the houses. A lot of houses were run down and the house at the beginning of East Palm Ave had 4 broke down boats in the yard, numerous broken down vehicles, one up on a tire Jack and others with their hoods open and a refrigerator in the yard to top it off. Not what you would expect to be staying a few houses down from while away on vacation and definitely not what I expect for the amount of money I paid for this unit. My brother rented a house with a pool in the city of Marco for the SAME price I paid to stay in this semi run down village. Would I stay here again? No way. Definitely not worth the money or the troubles!
This was a nice big upper unit but the bathrooms were VERY old and in need of upgrades. The hallway bathroom sink and tub both had standing water in them when we arrived and were very slow to drain. The ceilings and corners of the shower stall were stained. The bathrooms were clean but very old looking. The email we received on the day of arrival gave an incorrect code for the door lock and, after several texts, gave us another incorrect door code. If it wasn't for an unlocked back slider we would not have gained entry to the unit until 6:45pm when the local management called with the correct code. Check in time was supposed to be 4pm.
We practically lived on the back porch during our stay. Nothing like watching the sun set on a warm February evening. Enjoyed walking to Goodland's restaurants and the home's proximity to Marco Island and the Everglades.
This condo is in a great central spot for shelling, fishing and boating. Goodland is a quiet town and nice if you want to avoid the crowds on Marco. The boat ramp is right up the street and very convenient. We kept our boat at the dock which worked out great. The condo was spacious and had everything we needed, including a drip, Keurig, and a pour over style coffee maker. We had inquired about this days before our trip but never got a response. The unit was clean but the back yard area could definitely use some tlc. Overall it was a good spot but we didn’t spend too much time inside.
