“The Loft,” our favorite, is the finished attic in the pictures. Cozy, quirky, and unique, it doubles as an extra bedroom, a playroom, a breakfast nook, an office space, and a living room. Note: “The Loft” is not for everyone. Since the home was built in 1913, the attic space has a very low clearance, at 6’ 4” at the highest portion in the center (see pictures). Paramount to usage is watching your head. Also note the stairs leading up to the loft are steep/short given the age of the home, so be mindful walking up and down and be sure to watch your step and head. The upstairs is climate controlled via a newly installed LG window AC (heating and cooling), so you will stay nice and comfortable:) We recommend The Loft only for lounging around and sleeping, and again be sure to watch your head:).
We are pet friendly, however we have pet fee of $15/pet/night and breed restrictions (based off our insurance), so please contact us before booking and tell us about your pet(s)!:) Keep in mind our cleaner will inspect the Space after checkout, looking for damage, droppings, or any pet related incidentals and report to us, so please tell us any incidentals that occurred before check out. Pets must also not create a nuisance for other Tenants in the building—i.e. if your doggo is a yapper, unfortunately this isn’t the right place. Pets must be supervised at all times in the backyard, must be friendly, and must be well behaved. There is a large fenced in yard with a brand new, six foot cedar privacy fence. There is a lot of greenery in the backyard: perfect to play fetch and for your pet's bathroom time—please collect and dispose of all droppings as they occur.
Shared amenities:
The Space is private for your usage, with two caveats: the laundry room and the yard.
1. The laundry room: in order to offer you the maximum privacy during your stay, we do not use the laundry room for shorter stays (less than 5 days). However, for 5+ night stays, we will have to do laundry, as there is only one washer/dryer in the house. We will give you a heads up if/when we have to run a load or two of laundry.
2. The backyard of the property is a shared amenity with the hosts and the host’s Cocker Spaniel doggo, Daniel the Spaniel. He is a 20lb shy boy, who is just starting to warm up to people, so he may bark if he sees you. Included is a picture of him. Feel free to say hello! He is also our co-host:). He will always be accompanied by another co-host in the backyard.
Guest access
As soon as you enter the unit, you have full access to both bedrooms, the bathroom, the upstairs, the laundry room, and the whole backyard. The backyard and laundry room are the only shared amenities.
Other things to note
Keep an eye out for deer driving to and from the Airbnb/around the neighborhood. Because Dupont is a nature-haven, many deer frequent the area, so be careful driving.

We stayed here while we visited family in the area. It was a nice place. The owners thought of many extra touches for our convenience. We did not have any children with us, but there were games and other activities they might have wanted. The unit was very clean and well stocked. We would stay again if the opportunity arose.
The kitchen set up is not great. Can only plug in one appliance in at a time. There is no stove only 2 hot plates. Frig is a tiny one you might find in a dorm. Beds are not comfortable and Wi-Fi was not great. At time a you couldn’t watch TV. Outside seating area is nice. Definitely should invest in upgrading kitchen and beds!! Other wise not bad.
We had a wonderful stay here- the owners were helpful and responsive and the neighborhood was quiet. We spent lots of our time out and about during our visit- and this was a great fit for us! The description of the layout is very accurate and will help with planning for your stay.
We had a great stay in Dupont. Cute place. My daughter loved the loft!
This stay was amazing. It was very spacious. It felt very comfortable staying there. The yard was beautiful and great for the kids. I was coming back to visit and possibly be saying good bye to someone. When we pulled up to the house I noticed this house used to belong to my cousin. Instant comfort. They had remodeled and it was very nice. A couple blocks from family and the park. This is definitely going to be the place we stay on al our visit to Washington. Thank you for being great host and keep up the great work.
The residence was very clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for our group, with easy I5 access. The host was very gracious and eager to make our stay great. Will definitely get this place again.
We were in-and-out a lot during a trip to JBLM for a ceremony. We didn't need a lot out of the space except a place to rest and refresh. The beds were very comfy with pillows that had the right amount of fluff. :) We didn't end up using any of the kitchen appliances except for the coffee pot, but it was nice to have the option. The kids stayed upstairs and LOVED the angled ceilings. They called it their clubhouse. The stairs are older and more steep than modern ones, so if someone in your party can't do stairs, this isn't a good option for you, as the primary living space is on the 2nd floor.
Very quiet location with a lot of space between the two bedrooms downstairs, the kitchenette/laundry area and the upstairs. Minutes from JBLM too which was super convenient. The host was very kind and ensured the rooms were tidy and welcoming prior to our arrival. Would highly recommend them.
The home was nice. My family enjoyed the little time we spent there. We were mostly using it as a place to sleep and get ready for the day. The location was great and I felt safe. I’m glad I found this place for my family.
We flew in to town last minute for a funeral. The place was great. There was a welcome gift. Everything was clear and easy. The beds were comfortable and everything was stocked. We would recommend this spot to others. Thanks!
