Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania
***Please note: We are currently only hosting stays less than 4 nights***
Looking to escape your car on your next getaway Victorian living modernized!
This private bedroom with free parking (a hot commodity in Jim Thorpe!) is a pleasant walk across the bridge (10 min) from downtown. You are close enough for a morning cold brew, afternoon mountain bike ride, or evening cocktail without the need for your car.
After connections with local shopowners and artists down the turn of the century street, return to the peaceful little deck to admire the mountain views.
The shared first floor includes a large living room with decorative accents inspired by the town’s fascinating history. The well-appointed kitchen leads to a small back porch. Enjoy a drink of choice after a long day of whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, or skiing on the rear porch illuminated with lights, prayer flags, and Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs.
The staircase leads to the second floor, with your private bathroom and bedroom which includes a comfortable queen size bed and hand-refinished 1930s Art Deco furniture. My office is on this floor, but because my bedroom and living area are on the third floor, guests have noted that this floor feels like their own apartment!
AN OFF STREET PARKING SPOT IS INCLUDED WITH OUR SPACE. Please park in the driveway rather than on the one-way street. Jim Thorpe is a town built during the 19th Century well before cars so parking in the downtown is limited, but you can easily walk or bike across the bridge and leave your car in the driveway!
My small chihuahua lives with me and may be around during your stay. She is friendly and curious- she will jump on the bed if you let her; please just shoo her away!
Guests can access the kitchen to make meals and use the living room if desired.

We are not a bed and breakfast or short term rental, but can direct you to wonderful places to eat.
Tourism Note: Many restaurants and popular sites in town take Wednesday as their day off. Bars and restaurants also close quite early (10pm for many places). If you are looking for nightlife, this stay will not be a good fit for you.
We had a really great time staying in Jim Thorpe. The location was perfect as it was just a short walk into town. Our room and bathroom was super clean and our host was amazing. Will definitely stay again if available :)
Jen is a wonderful host. She was very welcoming in opening up her home to us and made sure we had everything we needed to make our trip enjoyable. The location is just a short ride across the bridge to Jim Thorpe historical area and just a short walk to Union Publix Pub which has good food and friendly staff. We would stay here if we come back again.
We spent 3 nights at this comfortable, convenient spot. Jennifer made us feel completely at home from the start and was able to answer all of our questions about the area complete with recommendations that enhanced our trip. Driving and parking in downtown Jim Thorpe are rough, but an easy bike ride across the bridge to the East side is Jennifer's place. It is in a quaint neighborhood with quiet streets for walking and the Union Public House down the street for good food and a beer after our days of hiking, biking and rafting. Our room had a comfortable bed, soft linens and a private well-appointed bathroom down the hall. We will definitely stay here again!
