Kilauea, Hawaii
Licensed Rental: TVR#4284/SP-2001-15
Located on the bluffs of Kauai's Kilauea Farms, Hideaway Bay boasts stunning, unobstructed ocean views from every room in the house. The home is completely private and surrounded by three acres of citrus trees, mangoes, papayas, bananas, and coconuts. Also, the home is located above a secluded white sand beach.
The design is elegant, comfortable, spacious, and open with two master suites, a great room, island kitchen, dining room, indoor Jacuzzi Whirlpool tub, and a shaded lanai. Each master suite has a king-size bed and there's a full-size sofa-sleeper in the great room.

With a beautiful nearby beach and playful features such as a hot tub and outdoor shower, Hideaway Bay is the perfect place for a special occasion such as an anniversary or honeymoon. Mahalo and Aloha!
Property & Amenities: The home is completely private and surrounded by lush tropical fruit trees and pristine ocean and mountain views. There are no other homes or roads within sight or sound of Hideaway Bay and the views are over conservation land where albatross nest. In the winter and early spring Humpback whales can be easily spotted from every room in the house and the covered lanai.
Hideaway Bay is a completely stocked turnkey rental home. The gourmet kitchen includes blender, rice cooker, baking tools, wok, coffee bean grinder & maker, and all the other normal items you would expect in a modern kitchen. The home includes beach towels, bath towels, house lounging towels, and quality bedding linens with extra sheets in the closets. Beach chairs, coolers, umbrella, mats, and some toys are provided as well. Each of the bedrooms have air conditioners and there are ceiling fans throughout the house.
Activities & Recommendations: Excellent location on the North Shore just minutes from spectacular beaches, waterfalls, surfing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, bird watching, horseback riding, jeep trails, snorkeling, scuba, wind and kite surfing, beach combing, dining, shopping, bike rentals, gardens, etc.. This property is ideal because it is on a spit of land away from the mountains. Most of the North Shore towns are near the base of tall mountains cause much more rain than the Kilauea Farms area and Hideaway Bay. Often times the wetness passes over us as clouds, then collects at the mountains and rains heavily. Therefore towns like Hanalei receive over twice as much rainfall as Hideaway Bay and Kilauea Farms.
Just minutes from the Princeville airport for helicopter rides, just 4 miles from the great swimming and snorkeling at Anini Beach, three miles from Kilauea-Town and Pau Hana bakery serving fresh pastries, bagels, and coffee every morning and a short walk to the beach.
The Beach: Guests staying in Hideaway Bay or Plumeria Moon enjoy nearby secluded and beautiful Waiakalua Beach. This beach is for many a dream come true. Limited public access to this beach and an abundance of beaches in the area cause this picturesque white sand beach to be deserted most of the time. The shell hunting is particularly good at this beach yet swimming and snorkeling conditions vary depending on the ocean tide. Sunsets at Pila'a are exquisite and watching the waves is always relaxing. The complete privacy of the well separated homes, and wonderful Beach a short walk away, lead to many guests hardly using their rental cars. Within five miles of the property there are eight different uniquely beautiful beaches to enjoy. The further you drive in either direction the more beaches there are. Forty Four percent of Kauai's coastline is beach.
There are over fifty miles of beach on this incredible island!
Hideaway Bay is licensed by the State of Hawaii and the County of Kauai as a legal Transient Vacation Rental property. This means that if you rent Hideaway Bay (unlike many other rentals out there) you can be sure it will be legal and available when you arrive. TVR # 4284 / SP 2011-15

FOR THE SAFETY AND COMFORT OF YOU AND YOUR NEIGHBORS
Aloha and Welcome to HIDEAWAY BAY and the Beautiful Garden Island of KAUA'I
1. Please Be Good Neighbors
Keep noise to a minimum, especially before 8:00 am and after 10:00 pm. Your neighbors (distant, in our case) probably have to go to work the next day, so please be considerate. Turn off outdoor lights at night whenever possible. We enjoy our dark nights when the stars are bright and beautiful. Of equal importance, our wildlife can become disoriented at night if lights are too bright. Please be sure you park only on property; we have plenty of space for parking and driving on the lawn is ok. If you have any questions about our neighbors or how to best be considerate of them, please call Thomas.
2. Beach Safety
Be mindful of the surf. Our shorelines face thousands of miles of open ocean. Northern winter storms and southern summer storms can bring us extremely dangerous surf conditions. NEVER turn your back on the ocean – summer or winter. Rogue waves can appear even in calm surf conditions. There are lifeguards at Haena Beach Park, Hanalei Pavilion, Lydgate, Poipu Beach Park, Salt Pond and Kekaha. For your family’s safety, we advise that you check with lifeguards before going into the ocean. For non-guarded beaches, you should at least check with local residents who are there regarding unseen currents or other dangers.
3. 911
In case of fire or medical emergency, call 9-1-1. The address and phone number of your accommodation is posted on the inside of both bedroom doors. For non-emergency assistance, please call Police Dispatch. The phone number for Wilcox Hospital in Lihue is. The closest emergency treatment center is Mahelona Hospital up the hill on your right as you enter Kapa’a.
4. Weather
We do experience flash flooding during periods of heavy rain. If you must drive in this kind of weather, drive with extreme caution. Severe weather could result in the temporary closing of the main road out of Hanalei. For the most up to the minute Traffic and Weather information, please call.
5. Disaster Emergencies
On the first business day of each month at 11:45 am, our Civil Defense sirens are tested. However, if you hear these sirens at any other time, please tune to AM radio station KQNG (“KONG”) at AM 570 for real-time reports and instructions. Also, the front of the Kaua’i phone book has emergency, disaster, evacuation and shelter information. Hurricane emergency supplies have been provided and are located over the bathroom in the back bedroom.
6. Emergency Escape Route
From each bedroom the safest escape route in case of fire is through the sliding glass door which leads directly outside. As soon as safely possible, please call 911.
7. Security
Although theft in our neighborhood is uncommon, please be cautious with your personal belongings. It is always best to lock up your valuables. Lock the doors and windows when you leave the property.
8. Farming Activity
Please be aware that you are staying on a small working farm which is among many other working farms. With this farm activity comes potential noise, fugitive dust, farm equipment on roads and other environmental impacts.
9. Island Driving Etiquette
Please honor the posted speed limits. Frequently check your rear view mirror. If more than 4 or 5 cars are stacking up behind you, pull completely off to the side of the road and let them pass. This can also help you when driving at night as our dark roads can be confusing. The cars following you likely know where they are going and can help light the way for you.
If you are lost, remember that this is a small island and you will find your way soon. Keep driving until you find a safe place to pull over and turn around. If you can head downhill, you will get to the ocean within a few miles. Never make a U-turn on the highway.
When navigating the one-lane bridges, cross the bridges caravan style. It is usually appropriate for 5 or 6 cars to cross at a time. A simple rule of thumb: Drain the lane; if you arrive late – wait. When parking at the beaches, park, or sight-seeing locations be sure to park fully off the street, in assigned or clearly marked parking spaces. If you want to stop to enjoy the scenery, please pull completely off to the side of the road.
10. Tsunami Zone
The property is considered by the county of Kauai to be within the tsunami zone, despite being on a high bluff hundreds of feet above sea level. As required, there is a map and directions of a tsunami evacuation route provided in the house binder.
Most amazing property. Privacy with a million dollar view! Every room has huge windows with view of Pacific and cliffs. Watch waves crash as you lounge on the lanai. We grilled fresh seafood on the New grill every night. Enjoyed the sunset from the outdoor hot tub. Never wanted to leave.
Gated community and private backyard with great view of the ocean. A/C in the rooms were very nice and we were able to stay comfortable at night by just running it in that one room. Outdoor shower was fun and refreshing and the walk to the beach was very neat leading to an almost seemingly private beach. Location is definitely more convenient to the north shore.
Simply the nicest place I have ever stayed in my life with a million dollar view. I could not believe my eyes when I saw how beautiful and private the whole villa was. If I ever go back to Kauai I will try to stay there again.
This property was exactly as described. Beautiful off the beaten path and secluded with fabulous views of north shore cliffs. The communication with the management folks pre arrival and the check in process were flawless. The grounds are georgous and very well maintained and not another house is within sight from the house. It honestly feels like the entire island is yours alone. Good workout hike down to a beautiful private beach which you will likely have entirely to yourself. I honestly can’t say enough great things about this house and we will definitely return on our next trip. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. You won’t be disappointed
We had a great time on the house. It was private and quiet, but still close enough to Kilauea/Princeville/Hanalei to be convenient. The view was fantastic, the private beach was neat although not swimmable, and the house was well furnished. Some of it probably needs updating, but didn’t affect our enjoyment at all. Would stay here again.
My husband and I met up with our grown sons for a fun family vacation on Kauai. The house was excellent, the location was private, beautiful and perfectly situated. We travelled easily all over the island each day and had a perfect spot to come back to and relax together. We enjoyed board games around the kitchen table each night and frequently enjoyed star gazing from the yard. The rooms are comfortable, the house is spacious and full of light and there's a wonderful breeze blowing and cooling everything. We never used the AC in June--we are from AK and relished the warmth. The fruit trees on the property were such a treat and we loved having fresh mangoes several times over our visit. We made wonderful memories and cannot wait to come back. We would joyfully stay here again and again.
This was our second stay at this lovely house designed to take full advantage of its ocean views. Birds and whales are often visible (in the proper season) from the lanai, and an albatross preserve for nesting albatrosses is on the 10 minute walk to the beach. The quiet is magical.Beds are comfortable, hot water is plentiful, the kitchen is reasonably well equipped and the management team is responsive. The needs some upgrading, in particular the second bathroom.
We have stayed on Kawai many times, but this is No doubt the best location on the island. The view from the living room and the backyard is outstanding. The short walk to the beach rewards you with a private beach experience. There are some areas that could be upgraded, but that does nothing to take away from the experience. This is our second visit to the house, and we will be back!
An outstanding location and a wonderful home. The view is really amazing and the walk to the beach is special. The home was just right for us. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful and chill. Private. Perfect layout. Thanks!
This spacious home with great views of the ocean is situated among many fruit trees. Plenty of room to spread out. Very convenient location to everything on the north side of the island and easy to access the south side.
Older vibe, could probably use a little tlc in the near future, but overall it nothing really affected our stay. We actually enjoyed it very much and would definitely book again. The home itself is secluded, quiet, very peaceful and seems to be well cared for and smelled clean when we arrived. Comfortable bed, decent hot tub, fully stocked kitchen other than we couldn't find a pizza pan and a few other miscellaneous items (we like to cook), and there were a few things that would have been nice. Place is nice but definitely has a lot more potential given the area and the location, and the view. The best part is the views, stunning ocean view. Loved the fruit trees, and the chickens/roosters... lol they were fun! Mosquitos were heavy, I would consider investing in pest control, etc, they were everywhere but oddly they weren't anywhere else that we went which was weird. Again, some things were a little outdated and probably due for updates, etc, however it was much better than staying in a hotel/motel for the same price if not more. Overall we were pleased and we would be happy to recommend it to others. With that said though, I do feel that the price we paid for the duration of our stay was a bit steep for the value of the home, especially after comparing with others on the island and other homes on the other Hawaiian Islands. The home is cozy and private which we loved, it just needs some minor updates and tnen it would be perfect. These are just some simple suggestions, it's not to degrade the owners/host. The host was prompt and the owner too seemed nice and laid back. This property also has cottage on the property for rent but only through word of mouth, it is not advertised. Worth checking out if you have less guests, the was big for just the two of us. We didn't know about the cottage as an option, would have been nice to know since it would have been cheaper for us. Lastly, the secluded/private access to the beach was stunning, went twice and we had the whole beach to ourselves, no one in sight... probably because the steep steps down to it are not exactly user friendly at all. Not sure how many steps to be exact but had to be over a 100 so be prepared for an adventure, it's not easy. I'm still recovering a week and half later lol! If you can get down there, it's worth it... good luck trying to get back up!!! Aloha! -G&A
Views were beautiful! Peaceful and loved the roasters/chickens!
This is the second time that we have stayed in this wonderful vacation home. Once again we appreciated the peace and exquisite beauty of the surroundings. The house is well appointed, very comfortable and has magnificent views of the ocean. Highly recommended!
After delaying our trip to Kauai for 2 years due to the pandemic, we finally made it. Kauai is paradise - and this rental is everything you would want and expect. It was clean, well-organized and best of all private! Very quiet area, with a stunning view to the ocean. The house was very comfortably laid out and well appointed and it was a pleasure to stay in. I highly recommend a stay at Hideaway Bay!
