Borgo la Chiusa was part of an ancient convent just outside the walls of Siena, offering guests wonderful views, peaceful environment and one independent villa and two deliciously restored to detached houses with Siena terracotta floors, stone walls, beamed ceilings and very beautiful finishing touches.
Porcilaia, whose name means pigsty, was converted from the original pigsty of Borgo la Chiusa, part of an ancient convent.
The house sits on the left corner of the property and is accessed from a welcoming terraced patio at the front of the house.
Porcilaia is endowed with an open living area, cleverly organised to fit a comfortable sofa and armchairs, a modern kitchen and dining area.
The double bedroom and the twin bedroom sit on the back portion of the house, overlooking the beautiful paved backyard ideal for breakfast in the morning!
Two full bathrooms with shower, one next to the living room and the other next to the double, in the sleeping area.
The outside offers a well kept private garden and a lovely patio equipped with table, chairs, loungers, BBQ and umbrellas for outside eating and relaxing.

We were so impressed with the villa. It was even better than we had expected. It was so charming, clean and in perfect shape. The area was so quaint and picturesque. The location was perfect and easy to get to so many other towns to tour around. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect Tuscan experience. Francesca, our host, made everything very easy for us.
We loved our stay at Borga La Chiusa. The ambiance of the house was very Italian but yet with modern amenities. It was very enjoyable visiting Siena and the whole Tuscan area. The property also had a beautiful pool.
The property was amazing. It was exactly as pictured and well equipped. Francesca was so helpful and always available. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Wonderful location for time away
This property is absolutely beautiful. We had a great stay once we found it. We had a lot of GPS problems finding it but finally called Simone and he explained it. The pool was so relaxing and there are so many beautiful villages nearby. Loved it.
We had an amazing week here exploring Tuscany! The house was well appointed and super clean - a very comfortable place to spend our time when we weren’t out exploring the nearby towns! We were also traveling with our 7mo old baby, and we were supplied with a crib and high chair that worked really well for our son. We were able to cook dinner at the house almost every night, and enjoyed wine outside on the patio in the evenings - it was a great place to call home for the week, and we would definitely come back and stay again!
Amazing place to stay, very close to Sienna and 1 hour drive from Florence San Gimignano etc Clean , quiet and sooo beautiful Lovely pool I will come back for sure
We had a wonderful stay at this villa! The location was perfect for exploring the central Tuscany region, but a car is definitely needed for a stay here. The villa was beautiful! We enjoyed the living space both inside and on the patio. Francesca, the villa owner cooked us a very tasty Welcome dinner the day we arrived. She was also available for any problems, but we did not have any issues. Simone, the property manager, was prompt with answers to any questions we had prior to arrival. If we ever return to this part of Italy we would definitely stay here again.
We were 4 couples who spent a week in this lovely remodeled villa. It exceeded our expectations. Bedrooms were all large with nice bathrooms and wonderful views. The outdoor area was perfect for relaxing after a day trip to one of the many day trips. Francesca cooked us two amazing dinners. Best food we had in Italy!! She was wonderful. We hated to leave!
This was the best place we stayed in a month long trip. Unlike a lot of accommodation where you feel that they've filled the place with their old, unwanted items, this villa has been filled with new, matching crockery and well thought out furniture that is stylish and comfortable. It is luxurious and spacious and I would go back there over and over again. We LOVED it! If you go in a group there are 4 well sized similar rooms; so no arguments over who has the best room / view. It is in easy reach of Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Florence so a great location for site seeing; but it is so lovely, it is hard to tear yourself away from the house and the pool! I can't recommend it highly enough!
