East Boothbay, Maine
This is vintage Maine – a grey shingled cottage, surrounded by fir trees, perched on the ocean’s edge with boundless ocean, coast and distant island views. You’ll hear no sound other than the crashing surf, sea gulls and circling ospreys. The sun rises majestically each morning, flooding the rocky coves with vibrant reds, oranges and yellows that merge to daylight and signal the coming of lobster men pulling their traps. Enjoy sightings of marine life, wild turkeys, deer and fox and our resident osprey with annual new baby chicks. Like Maine itself, life at Pointed Fir Cove is the way life should be…
This private 7 .2 acre oceanfront estate provides 180 degree open ocean views and is the perfect base for sailors, boaters, nature enthusiasts and families escaping daily stress. In addition to the amazing ocean and coastal views, a perennial fresh water stream empties into the ocean from one of our private coves. Depending on the season and rain and Spring snow melt, the cove can be a gentle running stream or a small waterfall emptying into the ocean. While privacy abounds, you’re within three miles of the East Boothbay General Store and two great restaurants and just 5 miles to the charming sites and activities of downtown Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor and a large grocery supermarket.
The Manor Home offers a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath main home that comfortably sleeps 8. The Manor Home was fully and painstakingly remodeled in late 2017 and early 2018. It is furnished with every amenity, including chef’s kitchen and formal and informal dining and living spaces. The decor is New England prep, featuring quality and comfortable furnishings with clean lines that merge modern with classic. You’ll feel at home in our coastal blue rooms punctuated with blue and white porcelains reminiscent of treasures brought home by New England sea captains. The inside to outside views become difficult to distinguish as home and cottage blue paint hues and white trim paints mimic the sea and sky. The flooring throughout is charming wide board honey pine.
The first floor features a large eat in kitchen, decorated beautifully in blue and white, with pops of Chinese red. There is a central island, with stools for those who want to keep the cook company and enjoy the bounty of the built in wine refrigerator. Handmade tiles tip the counter edges and a stainless steel counter aids in easy clean up. Appliances are top notch and the oven and cook top are gas fueled. The amazing picture windows bring the outdoors in and offer perfect ventilation. There is ample storage cabinetry as well as a large in kitchen lighted pantry and built-in trash and recycling bins. A wall mounted TV allows you to watch morning news, cooking shows, not miss a favorite sporting event or watch a movie with the built-in DVD player.
The living room has a 7 foot long stone fireplace and features four enormous picture windows, which provide uninterrupted vistas to the bold ocean. The sun cheerfully warms the entire space and you can watch the tides come and go as working lobster boats, sight seeing watercraft and wind driven sail boats float across the horizons. There is also a cozy captain’s den, featuring a collection of antique nautical art, a space to escape in, just perfect for reading your novel, evening cocktails or watching a film. A new 55" wall mounted smart TV allows cable and internet access to your favorite shows, news and films.
The ground floor master bedroom features a newly remodeled en suite bathroom and custom California type walk-in closet. The king bed looks out a triple framed bay window that overlooks the open ocean and rocky coastline. The amazing sunrise can be viewed each morning through those windows. A luxury blue and white hand hooked rug warms the floors and customized bedding is provided. There is a cozy sitting area within the bedroom that invites taking a brief rest and perhaps reading your favorite novel. A wall mounted 39" smart TV allows cable and internet access to your favorite shows, news and films.
A spacious and just renovated guest bathroom is located on the first floor plus a convenient walk-in laundry with new Washer and Dryer plus laundry shelving for your convenience.

It features his and hers vanities, a romantic spa like tub, a separate shower with seat and toilet facilities. The designer tile flooring is radiant heated.
There is a sweet twin bed room, nestled under the eaves, featuring luxury linens and a bird’s eye view of the osprey’s favorite fir tree. One queen bedroom has an antique pineapple four poster bed and enjoys a “down-the-hall” privacy factor. The second queen bedroom provides a cherry sleigh bed, covered in a neutral palette of soft beige linens. Both queen rooms have ocean views and offer new smart TV's with internet, cable and movie access.

The six of us stayed at the main house for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The ocean is a few steps from the house with dramatic views, it is well equipped, updated and the hosts are very accommodating. Thank you Geri and Bill for a wonderful experience.
Beautiful location Great house
This is a well-maintained, secluded property with a full ocean view. The location is convenient. The owners were cheerful, accessible, and genuinely concerned with our satisfaction. The house is nicely decorated and was very comfortable for our group of five adults. Our family absolutely loved Boothbay Harbor and the surrounding area. We had wonderful meals at charming restaurants, enjoyed an afternoon of sailing and a morning at the beautiful Coastal Botanical Gardens. Watching the ospreys on the property from the Adirondack chairs was a daily activity which we all enjoyed. We all hope to be back soon!
Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay very much. We could have watched how the rocky coastline changes with the tides and boats going by all day. But Boothbay Harbor and the surrounding area has so much to see, we did have to leave from time to time. Cooking seafood from Pinkham's in the well equipped kitchen was lovely. A day sail on the schooner Apple Jack was a highlight, seeing the harbor from the water is a must! And the lobster roll from the East Boothbay General store might be the best thing I've ever eaten :) Thanks Geri and Bill!
Bill and Geri are great hosts, made communication easy and are very responsive. Property and house are comfortable with beautiful views. The property, Ocean Point and Boothbay Harbor areas exceeded our expectations. Great day trips are easily accessible and well worth it.
2-3 times a year our family rents a home on the maine coast to relax and reconnect. We are not looking to go sightseeing or spend any real time besides being at the property. We enjoy cooking together, games, playing cards, reading and long naps! Although we had just a small group on this trip, it was the perfect house for everybody to have their own space as well as when we gather together. Being in real estate always makes me critique homes that we stay in. This one rated a six out of five easily! The owners were gracious and easy to communicate with. The home itself was clean and appointed very well. We will definitely be back for another stay!
Fantastic view! Would definitely return to this lovely home!
Our group was 3 adult couples. The house is setup very well - each couple had their own bathroom, bedrooms very comfortable. We cooked at home a few nights - the kitchen is well equipped. It’s such a great location - very quiet and private, with an amazing view of the ocean and sounds of crashing waves, while a 10-25 minute drive from most anything you might want to do. Some great restaurants and Happy Hour cocktails a short drive away. We have a number of walkers in our group and they enjoyed walking the surrounding roads. We also enjoyed having after dinner cocktails outside around the fire pit in the evenings. We would rent it again! Really a great location, home, experience. The only “disappointment” (I use that word loosely) was that we had envisioned being able to sit around the beautiful fireplace in the pictures on a chilly day/evening and the inside fireplace isn’t available for use - I do get it and might do the same if it were my house, it was just a bit of a bummer since it was one of the draws to the house when selecting it. We also didn’t realize the outside fire pits are gas and not natural fire - but makes complete sense due to the risk of fire - given the remoteness and wooded area. (Since we live in a similar environment in a different part of the country, we completely get it and would have the same setup!)
Impeccably maintained home on the beautiful Midcoast Maine Coast. Truly a visit to remember.
The views in person are even better than the pictures. The sounds of the water, the osprey, the buoy bells - it's seaside bliss at its best. And no neighbors in sight - a real get-away. The house is maintained perfectly, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need. You're just a few minutes drive from the restaurants and general store in East Boothbay and 15 minutes to 'downtown' Boothbay Harbor, with its great restaurants and shops. We hope to visit again next summer!
