Picturesque village, 2 amazing restaurants, creperie and shops a few steps away

The gite was in a great location in a beautiful Dordogne village, which we had never been to before. Our previous stays had been in Domme and Sarlat but the size and character of Daglan was much more welcoming. To see one of the two restauranteur’s strolling around and buying produce from the local weekly market was a joy to witness. If you want the Dordogne without all the tourists, Vicky’s place in Daglan is a perfect choice. Vicky was a wonderful source of local knowledge and advice and even invited us to join her and her friend to join them at a lovely rustic restaurant that we’d have struggled to find ourselves. When we come back to the Dordogne, we know exactly where we’ll stay!

This is a fantastic place to stay for exploring the Dordogne and the Lot. So close to many wonderful villages and interesting sites, and Daglan is a beautiful little village. Vicky is a wonderful host, so quick to help if you have any questions. We loved returning to this peaceful oasis after a day of sightseeing. The pool is a bonus in hot weather.

Daglan is a beautiful village and we enjoyed our week at Vicky’s gîte. Daglan is quiet and picturesque with a boulangerie and grocery as well as a couple of restaurants and a creperie. A perfect location for visiting the more touristy places like Domme or La Roque Gageac. Nice bedding and towels, plenty of shampoo etc and some water, wine and coffee pods to start us off. It would have been nice to have some oil, vinegar and sugar and a few tablets to do our laundry as well as a ‘welcome’ handbook with info on local recommendations, pharmacies and how to use the oven and washer.

Lovely property, great location and easy access to everything the area has to offer. Shops within walking distance with a couple of restaurants and a supermarket.

A wonderful place and welcoming hosts. We received a lovely welcome to the gite and the whole place could not be more fabulous. Beautiful rooms, well-appointed and Vicky and Anthony available if any questions arise.Daglan is a vibrant village with a grocery shop, a boulangerie, a sweet little café that does ice cream and crepes as well a variety of drinks. There are also 2 restaurants. Not forgetting the Sunday market – fantastic produce available. We were fortunate to visit with the ‘Fete of St Louis’ taking place one weekend – amazing to see the community spirit alive and well in this beautiful village. There is so much history in this part of the Dordogne from the Cro-Magnan Lascaux to several Chateaux in the area, it will take another visit to get round all the things to see. Beautiful part of France and wonderful place to use as base for exploring.

Booking from pictures online has some degree of uncertainty. We often overthink it … This jumped off the page and on arrival instantly reassured that was the right decision. Clean, comfortable accommodation, gardens and pool better than we could have hoped, easy parking and Daglan turned out to be a lucky bonus - quiet village, lovely local shops but in the heart of the region for easy access to everything. L’Annexe for decent, good value food and service a la Basil Fawlty - top blokes! Genial hosts and convivial company, HIGHly recommend.

Wonderful Gite, amazing location, Vicky and Anthony are wonderful hosts with lots of knowledge of where to visit and where to eat. The accommodation was very comfortable with everything you need for a super holiday, the swimming pool was wonderful and the grounds very well maintained. Would absolutely recommend this place for a great holiday in the Dordoigne. We will definitely be returning. Thank-you Vicky and Anthony for making our holiday an unforgettable one.

Le Clos du Paradis is aptly named. We spent a fabulous two weeks in the perfect gite with a most beautiful garden in the gorgeous Dordogne countryside. A peaceful and totally relaxing getaway but with easy access to great places to visit and activities, as well as superb places to eat, vineyards and local markets. Vicky and Anthony are truly wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. Definitely a place to return to!

Beautiful setting, right in the centre of Daglan. Its such a quite location and the hosts were lovely too, making us feel very welcome. We were so pleased to find this accommodation and would happily return.
