Pico House (Nature House)

Amazing house with lovely owners. It allowed us to fully relax in the mountains surrounded by nature. Beautiful views and lovely sunsets

The house is very spacious and the balcony and garden are great to relax in. The views from the house are drop dead gorgeous, and the location far up on the slope means that there is little noise or traffic to distract a peaceful afternoon or evening. The location does demand that you navigate very steep, narrow, winding roads that definitely took some getting used to. Having a good car is crucial, since even though there is a market and a few restaurants within walking distance, the walk back up is quite strenuous. Located just below the Paul de Serra plateau, you have easy access to the Fanal Forest and other hiking trails. It is a fairly easy 45 minute drive to Funchal once you make your way down the steep part of town. Our host was fantastic and made checking in and out incredibly easy.

Fantastic view, fantastic house and a host that could not be better, treating us with homemade cake twice as well as homemade cookies. Even if it is located a bit remotely all necessary locations (groceries, etc) are only a short drive. I will recommend the house to my friends 11/10 times. The only slight caveat was that the driveway was to steep for our rental, but in that case you could simply park in front of the house without too much issues.

Nice house, with enough space for four and more people.. I booked very last minute and the communication was just fine. The kitchen is okay, but with a lot more potential on the equipment department. We were not very happy with the sleeping sets provided but manageable for a few nights.. Nice view and quite area.

My wife and I enjoyed 17 glorious days at this wonderful property. The photos are absolutely accurate--actually they do not do justice to the beauty of the surroundings. We felt like this was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the environs, visit Madeira. The place is roomy, modern, and comfortable, with everything one could need even for an extended stay. We felt lucky to stay here--which was just far enough from the hustle and bustle of more densely populated (touristy) areas, but close enough to everything we wanted to see for some beautiful day trips. If I were to come to Madeira again, I would love to stay here. The hosts were absolutely amazing--they went over and above with their care, little touches, some goodies that they provided from time to time. We are so grateful to have been able to spend this time in this little paradise!

Just to notice, there is a small house neighboring also to be rented. However, the cohabitation was fine ! Every thing was perfect for our stay. Just perhaps add a few boxes like Tupperware. Thanks !
