The Sea Slug is a charming, older beach house -- it shows wear-and-tear inside and out from being an older home -- outside from the weather and inside with the carpets, furniture, and cabinets. BUT, it is basically what one would expect renting an older beach house. We found it quiet and comfortable. We had great weather so the beach was just a half-mile walk away. I also used the back deck and enjoyed bunnies and birds. They have cable TV with Netflix available, plus puzzles, books, and DVDs. Kitchen dishes and pans were well supplied. Bathroom quite cute. I definitely would stay here again.
Very quiet and homey. Would have liked a view of beach, but knew we didn't.
The Sea Slug has a lot going for it: nice location, well-stocked kitchen, and a nice hot tub covered from the rain. But for the price we paid, my wife and I were expecting a lot more. There were a bunch of things this listing could do better: 1. The carpet is pretty gross. We wouldn't let our newborn crawl on it without putting down a blanket. They have written on their to-do list to get it cleaned, but it looks like it's been funky for a long time. 2. The bed was really uncomfortable. Our backs hurt each morning after tossing and turning so much. Actually all the furniture in the place looks a little cheap and ratty. The red couch in the living room looks like it is suffering from chronic depression. 3. The record player is broken. They have a cool collection of records that cannot be played because the needle is broken on the record player. 4. DVD collection can only be watched in the guest room. Even though they have a nice collection of movies, the DVD player doesn't work with the TV in the living room. 5. This is one of those listings that charges a cleaning fee but has a 10 step check out process (yes that is TEN steps) that involves a lot of cleaning and even lugging the trash recepticle up to the curb for pick up on Mondays. To summarize, we didn't hate it. But for the amount we paid we really expected a better experience. We suspect the corporatization of the listing and others in the company has caused a lack of human touch and care.
Cute, good location, just about a 1/4 mile from Manzanita. There is a jacuzzi which was nice. The bed I believe is only a full size. The kitchen is good sized though a little scant on silver ware.
Family and our dog enjoyed our stay at the Sea Slug. Perfect space and short walk to the beach.
The location was great and easy to get to Manzanita offerings. The place is functional and pet friendly. The couch was comfy but old. We played games, cooked, ate, and used the hot tub. The mattresses could use an update. We appreciated all the kitchen wares. Thanks!
Comfortable, clean, unpretentious but everything you need. Brings back fond memories - I sense a lot of happy history in this place. We found it well maintained and just as advertised, including charming back yard and very enjoyable hot tub. Did the 10m walk to beach many times, local hikes and enjoyed the pleasant village. Best dog beach ever.
The yard has not been mowed or weeded in months. The house is very old and outdated. Furniture is uncomfortable. The photos online make it look much nicer than it is. Was not worth the money we paid for one night.
Cute, older property. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and in the hot tub. It’s a bit of a walk to town or the beach, but we loved stretching our legs. Super short drive if you don’t want to walk.
This was a lovely property and great for a weekend getaway with the pups. The house is well stocked with cooking utensils and just a short walk from the beach. We regretted not bringing cleaning supplies, but were happy to find the blue paper towels available for clean up activities. Having the hot tub in use would have enhanced the stay, but that was not included in the listing. Multiple smart tv’s and games available made the rainy days enjoyable, and the beds were comfortable. Refreshing getaway, would recommend!
Property is fairly described.
Cute older home in Manzanita, just a short drive to the beach and town. Dog friendly and funky! They supplied all the stuff we needed.
fun little property great location. Could use upgrades and face lifts as the carpet is definitely old, couch has been in the family for years and the internet was not password protected. Very fun backyard
Fantastic
The location for this property can work for most families. The house, however, needs a lot of updating. There are windows without screens (safety issue) and doors that do not close (safety issue for young children). The appliances and carpet were terrible.
Older house with so much character. Had everything we needed and we loved the outdoor space! Definitely hope to be back!
We went to celebrate our 40th anniversary, but was disappointed in the upkeep and description of the rental. We enjoyed our time at the beach, the town and surrounding area, but the house was well worn.
Great location!
Quiet.
We loved our stay here. This little house had everything we needed and had such character! We loved that it was dog friendly too! Thank you for making our time such a great one.
The Sea Slug was a great place for my family and dog to get away. It is in a quiet location and is close to the beach.
Location was perfect. Near the beach, quiet, very clean, cozy. Everything we wanted
It was great & had everything we needed other than foil/seran wrap.oved book, puzzles & games. Very lovely space!! Thank you! I would suggest dusting/vacuuming blinds and replacing broken blinds in master but definitely not huge deal.
charming property located close to lots of beaches, forests, quaint towns and attractions. lovely place to stay!
Great place to just come and relax!
This quaint house is just fine for exploring Manzanita and surrounding cities.
