Stayed Nov 23, 2025Great casual, no frills destination- the house has plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 teens. Outdoors, when not an SNP or Luray Caverns, we enjoyed smoking a brisket on the Traeger, sitting around the outdoor fire, and the large yard for playing catch. Indoors, we had room to spread out, dine, and play games together.

Stayed Aug 9, 2025Location was beautiful, driveway a little tough to navigate due to new stones. Everything inside was clean and neat, plenty of towels. Would have liked to seen more blankets because nights could be a bit chilly. Views were gorgeous. The only real complaint anyone had was that there was only one television- I didn't mind but some of the family wanted their own television. I appreciated the shampoo, conditioner and body wash as I forgot to bring mine. Be warned that anything you want to do is going to be a 30min drive minimum so plan accordingly, but if you're looking for peace and quiet- this is it. My one suggestion, maybe add an air conditioner in the game room for summer - it was quite hot in there and we didn't get much use out of it. Overall it was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend.

Stayed Jun 9, 2025The pool, board games, and game room/garage were big hits with our kids (ages 6-18). There was plenty of outdoor seating, a dining table large enough for us all to sit around, and (this is unusual for homes we've rented) large enough pots and pans to cook for our crew of 9! Communication with the hostess was excellent. If you plan to kayak, do make sure you have a vehicle that can haul the kayaks to the river; it's not possible to walk there. Overall, we really enjoyed this place and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Stayed Feb 14, 2025When I arrived and did a walk through, the house wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. There was a shirt hanging from the ceiling fan, used tissue on the shelf behind the couch. The floors didn’t look swept or mopped. The bath tub had hair in it, and a bath mat that’s unsanitary when you have multiple people renting the property. The beds were made, the kitchen and dining room area was nice. The house worked for our couples cabin weekend but they could have better prepared the house.

Stayed Dec 30, 2024We stayed at this property for three days and had a blast. This place has it all: It is close to the river, mountains, and entertainment centers. There are all kinds of entertainment facilities within the house. The hot tub was a blast. The host is very responsive.

Stayed Dec 24, 2024We chose Shenandoah as a place to gather family that lives in NC, SC, PA and WV. We chose this house because we had activities planned at Massanutten, Bryce resort and Harrisonburg. The house gave us room and comfort. Great outdoor space, lots of cooking options, comfortable beds. We even had a Christmas tree and decorations. Alison is a fantastic communicater and gracious host

Stayed Aug 5, 2024We stayed here with our two kids and their grandma. This is a beautiful property with so much to do for the whole family. The pool and hot tub were clean and fun. There are a bunch of games including a ping pong and pool tables, cornhole, and darts which we loved. There was one issue with the refrigerator not working but the host Allison was super responsive and got a technician out very quickly! The house included everything we needed for a 5 day stay. There are also kayaks which were so fun to bring to the river.

Stayed Aug 24, 2023Great place to stay with a group of friends. House was big, had a bunch of nice beds and sofas. Ping pong, pool table, and foosball in the basement, all in good working order. Nice yard with plenty of space for yard games, good shade. No problems with the water.

Stayed Jun 16, 2023The location is fantastic! It's about 10-15 minutes outside of Luray, and an easy drive to the Swift Run Gap entrance to the National Park. The house feels isolated and private. There's a huge yard. The space is great, and my kids loved the converted garage game room with pool table and darts. The kitchen is very well supplied! It's a good space for large families, with a big sectional for relaxing and a huge dining table for group meals. Most of the rooms have individual window AC units (one bedroom does not). The problem we had was with the water supply. The house runs on a well which we didn't know, but learned once the well ran out of water. We used the dishwasher and used the washing machine for a load of towels. We had no idea that the water supply was limited, and after a day of hiking, our family of 6 all needed showers. In the middle of our third night, there was no water coming out of the sinks. The hosts were very apologetic and brought us large containers of drinking water and eventually refunded us for two nights (we left one night early on our 6 night stay), but if you're planning a longer stay or staying with a larger group, I would ask if they've resolved the water issue. We would stay here again, as long as they've come up with a solution for the problem we had!
