Pet Friendly, Ocean Views, Pool & Hot Tub!

We found a lot to love about Herbst Cottage! While the layout is a little unconventional (the huge master bedroom is the only direct route in and out of the house to the back decks and pool), the spaces were big enough for 10 people, and the places we were most interested in, which were the kitchen, backyard/pool, and beach access, were really great. Well equipped with the exception of broken dishwashers (both indoor and tiki bar were broken most of the week) and a leaking ice machine. Response by the owners was quick, though we had to hand wash a lot of dishes, not their fault. The house has a great deal of space available underneath (weather protected), and the pool and backyard were truly a great hangout space for all of us and the dog. Yard games, beach chairs, great seating everywhere you look. The Tiki Bar was a unique and consistently used space. If you like cold beverages, you have many options for cooling them off in this house! Beach access was a short walk, not much further than the oceanfront houses enjoy, with the East Wilkins beach access a literal stone's throw away. Restaurants and groceries (including a Super WalMart) are very close, as you would expect at MP3. Getting on to and off of the island is also super quick and easy from this location. Check in was simple and easy, the house was clean on arrival, Wifi was strong and easy to access. Everyone loved this house and it's location.

Our stay was great! The host was very nice and friendly. The house was a great location and had plenty of space for our family. We loved the pool area. We would stay again!

Great family vacation house! We are a family of 10 and we all loved this house and would definitely stay there again. Loved that you just walked across the street and you were on the beach, pool and hot tub were enjoyed every day! Bathroom in every bedroom and extra one by the pool. Outside shower was a plus. Ice machines are another plus.Nice yard, corn hole games every day, and plenty of room to throw the football.The house had everything we needed, and was very clean! Also was so nicely decorated. We had a great week, wish it was longer! Thank you.

We had a Wonder Stay Made ton of Memories the beach being so close to the home was a Plus for us with kids and I Expecting any day now! The home is huge! And very spacious perfect for a big family! Pool and hot tub a hit for kiddos as well! Have no complaints and 100% worth the money go book your stay with this wonder family! We will be booking again

We very much enjoyed our stay with our pups. It was a spacious, clean home with all the necessary amenities and communication with the host was prompt. Location can’t be beat with the beach across the street. We had a wonderful time, and would highly recommend.

We had 9 family members. The home was lovely, spacious and had that pool which was used a lot. The house is near the ocean, shopping, restaurants and points of interest. The only con would be more umbrellas/shade sails by the pool and the multiple decks. It was really hot while we were in Kitty Hawk!

This is our 2nd year. Great location. Great for family vacation. Nice home with lots of amenities. We love the tiki bar with TVs and the kids love the large back yard for corn hole, throwing football etc. We definitely will be back next year! Thank you!

Myself, my wife and our dog, along with my brother, his wife, 4-year-old son and my parents, had a wonderful stay at Herbst Cottage! The location was especially ideal for us, being right across the street from the beach and close to all the stores, restaurants and entertainment we wanted during our weeklong vacation. The house was incredible, and we especially enjoyed the pool and the tiki bar. We also appreciated that there were lots of different nooks and crannies on the property to sit and enjoy the views or to play games together. The host was incredibly helpful and promptly responded to all of our questions. We would love to stay again sometime!

We are a family of 9 and found this home to have all the amenities we hoped for and more. Well stocked kitchen, close to beach access, pool, (not heated), comfy furniture, and very clean outdoor furniture. We appreciated the host family’s communication and quick response time. In sum, this home exceeded our expectations. If there was a con worth mentioning it would be that we had no bar soap or any toiletries for the bathrooms. Easily solved, though, with a quick trip to the store. Thanks for the use of your lovely home.

We had a wonderful trip! The house had everything we needed and more. The house had lots of room and was very clean! We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the easy access to the beach. We had mom, dad, 3 kids ages 3, 9, 10 and grandma. It was perfect, everyone had their own space and plenty of room to all be together! They responded to any questions we had right away and were incredibly nice.
