Stayed Jun 6, 2025My wife and I enjoyed a long weekend at Dragonfly Retreat with our daughter and 2 granddaughters. The location is quiet and peaceful with a peaceful setting , yet ready access to everything Minoqua has to offer. Enjoyed a barbeque and campfire, as well as a visit to Wildwood and the Water Ski Show and visits to several area restaurants, shops and antique stores. We enjoyed having food for the animals so we could watch the deer, squirrels, chipmunks and ducks each morning.

Stayed Feb 14, 2025We were cozy and warm this cold winter weekend. Great location a few miles outside Minocqua city center, near Trigs grocery and Walmart, We were skiing and snowshoeing at WinMan with our dogs, so it was great to have a property that welcomes pets! Looks like a fun place for the summer, too, but no dogs off leash at any time so be aware of that.

Stayed Sep 11, 2024Dragonfly Trail Retreat is found at the far end of Patricia Lake campground and mobile home park. It has an expansive side yard that is truly a Northwoods getaway with a beautiful view of Patricia Lake, 2 wonderful spots for evening campfires and lots of firewood. The wildlife is abundant- we saw so many kinds of birds, ducks, several kinds of squirrels, and were visited at our evening campfire by deer and a raccoon. The steps to the lake are lovely and newly done and we enjoyed fishing on the dock where my husband caught sunfish, largemouth and bluegill. They also have a nice collection of kayaks, paddle boards and canoes lakeside along with life jackets in the storage shed. Patricia Lake has no public access so you cannot bring your boat here. It is a quiet lake with no gasoline motors allowed. The inside is newly decorated and just lovely with everything you could need- plenty of fluffy towels and blankets. The kitchen is well stocked too. We stayed in the king bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. This rental is close to shopping and restaurants and just minutes from Woodruff and Minocqua. The owner is very accessible and quick to respond. If you want a Northwoods experience with peace and quiet this is it!!

Stayed Aug 19, 2024My siblings and I (plus spouses) came up to finally spread our father’s ashes at his farm in McNaughton, as well as our old cabin on Squirrel Lake Island. This property was a perfect base for us, but more importantly it allowed us to stop, take a breath, and relax. We all felt as if we were either Cinderella or Doctor Doolittle, given that the deer regularly came up just feet away, ditto for the ducks that call this property home. You do not hear a sound from 71, or the neighbors, even though not far from anything. The cabin was exceptionally clean, and the beds were so comfortable. Each morning, we would all sit at the table in the kitchen, look out the windows, and just relax. When we come back to minocqua, we will definitely try to book this cabin again. Plus, Mike is really good with checking in on your stay, and answers any questions in a timely manner. A++++++ rating, if it were allowed.

Stayed Jul 23, 2024We enjoyed our brief stay, especially the lovely views of the lake, the green space/lawn area, and the kayaks that were available for our use. The home was clean, with nice furnishings and fluffy towels. The kitchen is extremely well stocked (better than most VRBO kitchens). Thanks for a lovely place to stay in the Northwoods.

Stayed Jul 1, 2024This is a must book. The scenery and wild life are amazing. Very clean, had everything you need to feel comfortable and at home. Beds are very comfortable. My kids enjoyed playing hide and seek because there was a lot of fun places to hide inside. The neighbors are friendly. We didn’t get to use the water boats or the fire pit because it rained when we were there, but we did get to fish. Updated, private and cozy feeling!

Stayed Jun 22, 2024The setting was beautiful. We enjoyed the kayaks, dock, opportunity to build a campfire & make s’mores. The beds were comfortable & the cabin was spotless & stocked with everything we needed. Great location for quiet & convenience of getting to local attractions. Highly recommended!
