Really lovely, clean, large house. Doesn't look fancy from the outside (and the driveway is steep!) but inside had everything we needed.

Brilliantly positioned close to town, Paul and Ruth's place was clean, comfortable and the perfect home base for a weekend in the goldfields.

No frills house,very good for a budget stay in Castlemaine. Great air con. Very clean. Great enclosed outside area for our dog to enjoy. Spacious living areas. nice new clean bathroom.

Wonderful house to stay in. Great space for the dog. Easy walk to town and round about. Good safe place for the car. Comfortable bed too. Great hosts and now it’s a toss up to stay at Ambrose or this one. Win win. Marilyn

Wonderful, spacious and central place to stay. Really enjoyed our Castlemaine getaway. Great facilities, well maintained and no shortage of power outlets! No wifi, but no problem, great mobile reception anyway. Or do a digital detox if you want!

Great little home to retreat to after a big day exploring. The kids bunkbed was a challenge to sleep on for me, but everyone else enjoyed their queen beds. Well maintained, easy to stroll into town.

Beware!Access - very steep unsafe driveway and dangerous stairs. Owner locks rooms and charges 25 per night to unlock rooms. Advertises fireplace but there is only a fake electric heater that doesn't work. The electricity was out the 2nd day of our stay owner knew this weeks before and did not advise us. Bath has very high dangerous step into shower. Kitchen. We stayed for a week and only had two towels. The kitchen had bare minimum equipment and lots of locked cupboards. Reviews are fake. Worst stay ever had will not be using Stayz again

My son was on work experience locally so had to book a place I could bring the dogs The house is in a great location and had everything you need plus a few extras Great secure yard and balcony for the dogs And - the best mattress I’ve ever slept on I think!We would definitely recommend and would stay here again

The house was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the 'free' goodies on top of the microwave oven were a pleasant surprise.BUT, this is not a house for a group in their 70s and 80s. It's on a VERY steep block, there are stairs to be negotiated, the shower is over a very deep bath so it's difficult to climb into it, the so-called single beds are a double bunk and the toilet is in the bathroom, and was malfunctioning by the time we left this morning.Castlemaine is an interesting town and we plan to return, but we'll have to find somewhere else to stay.

Great feel to this tastefully renovated 40s/50s house overlooking Castlemaine. Could have looked at the view all day.

Close to town. Clean and well equipped. Always a great stay for us and our hounds

Lovely property, we really enjoyed our stay. The views from the balcony are beautiful. The drive way is a bit steep which made walking to the shops with a child a little difficult, but the car had no issues getting up and down.

Very clean, functional and airy 60s brick house in central location. Nice verandah view, and great communication with friendly owners. Paul and Ruth have also been really considerate regarding the roomy pet areas too. Great stay.
