Shallotte, North Carolina
Our home has three bedrooms, all on one level and ramped for easy access. It has a modern kitchen conveniently connected to a dining area suitable for 6-8. The spacious 1900 square foot home has two bedrooms on one side of a great room, one with a Queen-size bed, one with a single bed. At the other end of the house the third bedroom has two twin beds, a washer and dryer, and a den/television room with a pull-out sleeper sofa and recliner A deck runs the full length of the river/marsh side of the house, with a southern exposure, grill, porch swing, and hot tub. Guests may use two kayaks (one tandem, one single), and a bicycle. Dogs are welcome, if on a flea/tick preventer. Our dog, a keeshond, loves it; yours will too. House has wifi (password-protected) and two smart televisions, one DVD. Lots of books on shelves in the great room are available for guests to browse and enjoy.
Linen/towel service is included in your rent, with sheets and towels for each guest. You should bring your own beach towels.
This house and location exceeded our expectations on every level. We will be going back as soon as our schedules will allow. The host is the best I have ever worked with. Enjoy!
My family and I loved our stay at Bill’s home. It was such a peaceful place. We really enjoyed the kayaks and just relaxing on the back porch. The home is fully stocked with everything you could need. I would definitely go back.
The pictures do not do justice. We loved our stay! Thank you for sharing this beautiful, peaceful slice of heaven.
The setting for the house overlooking the marsh is spectacular. We spent hours on the large rear porch listening to the many birds, egrets and other life in the marsh. We were even visited by a flock of peacocks in the area. The house was just as advertised and equipped with everything you need. We spent a month at the location and enjoyed every minute of it.
A beautiful, roomy house; a nice hot tub; spectacular acres and acres of marsh view; a visit from a wood stork--a threatened species; a fifteen-minute drive to spectacular Sunset Beach.
This is a wonderful location with proximity to several different beaches, tourist attractions, restaurants, grocery stores. The house has a great porch overlooking the marsh. Watching the birds fishing in the marsh was a favorite part of our vacation!!
We enjoyed our stay, especially since the house is pet friendly. Great location and a quick drive to a few different area beaches. Plenty of space for our family and we loved spending time on the porch.
Would have been nice if all the utensils worked
This is a beautiful house in a nice secluded setting. The owner was very responsive. A lot of great places to eat within 10-20 minutes. Because this house is sitting on the marsh, there is a musty smell throughout the home. Probably need dehumidifiers. And, the master bedroom needs a curtain or blinds on the patio door. Even tho this house sits in a pretty secluded area, there is no privacy in the master from the back yard and deck. People come to do yard work and service the hot tub on the deck.
We were looking for a place with easy access to the area beaches but didn't want to be amongst the rest of the visitors. This was perfect. With a beautiful view across a tranquil marsh, this house is within easy driving distance of Southport and the various beaches in the area. Bill is very responsive to questions and the house is very comfortable. Our dogs loved watching the birds and we'd love to visit again!
