Pet Friendly Duplex Home with Ocean Views, Balconies -Two Units

Let me start by saying this was our second visit to Avery’s Ocean Breeze. We had an wonderful experience when we came down two years ago. When we arrived we were super excited for our week at the beach! When we arrived the air was set on 78 and it took us a while to figure out the unit to turn it down. In unit A or the left unit when looking at it from the front of the complex did not have air conditioning. This was confirmed after the first night in the house we woke up to 79 degree warm house the first morning. The unit kept switching to heat at night. I called the company and they contacted the owner, but we had to contact them a second time the next day when we had no response. VRBO was quick to come out and assess the problem after the second call. An AC repair man came out that afternoon and informed us the coil was busted and the owner refused to replace the condenser. So the next best option was window units. We were only allowed one from the air company and then I then had to call VRBO a third time to get a second unit. We placed one up stairs and one downstairs. That was not even close to cool the upstairs in 85 degree weather in Florida in June. The temperature maintained 79 degrees with the one unit. It was a very uncomfortable week. The complete lack of effort on the owners behalf to right this wrong is beyond infuriating. We had follow up calls to VRBO with no response or effort to rectify the situation. The positives about this location is the short walk to the beach. Very easy to navigate for families with lots of items to carry. Very quiet street. Friendly neighbors. Our hope is the owner will replace the unit. We would consider renting again, but only if they make right this wrong and fix the unit.

The location of the property is great. Lots of space inside, great layout and location. Great proximity to the beach. It's well equipped. We had some issues with the door codes which took phonecalls to resolve. We never did get good consistent WiFi which was a problem cuz I was working remote part of the week and had to use my phone as a hot spot. No one got back to us on how to get it to work.

We enjoyed being so close to the beach. A very easy walk, and if you're not inclined to walk there is beach parking just as close.

We booked both sides of this property to accommodate our family and friends for our daughter's wedding. the three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms on each side made the stay relaxed and easy for all 11 of us! What we also liked was the fact that even though it's a duplex you cannot hear the group on the other side. It is a bright and sunny place that is walking distance to the beautiful St. Augustine beach. It is also close to restaurants, grocery shopping and about a 15 minute drive to historic downtown St. Augustine where there is so much to do and see. Our wedding venue was in the historic area so this rental was the perfect distance away. The property management staff were helpful and friendly and returned calls in a short period of time to answer some questions I had. We loved that you can see the beach from the front balconies and St. Augustine sunrises are worth getting up before 6:30am to see. Stunning!!! The units were well stocked with everything we needed while staying here, including irons! If you have a large group or even if you were just renting one side, Avery's Ocean Breeze is a wonderful place to stay. We look forward to using this place again.

Accommodations were clean, well stocked, and easy beach access! For renting both sides, it would have been awesome to have some sort of pass through connecting.

Absolutely loved this duplex. Our family came here for a small reunion and 50th anniversary celebration, and there was literally nothing negative about the property! Absolutely loved the proximity to the beach, the decorations, everything was fully stocked, it was absolutely clean, everything worked, can’t wait to come back here as soon as possible!
