La Playa was the perfect house for us! Loved the closeness of the beach and how the house was situated with big windows and the deck to enjoy the view. We really enjoyed the surrounding area, did some crabbing and a little bit of shopping, it was a great weekend! We will be back. Thank you!!
My husband and I were able to stay at this beach house and bring our 2 dogs! Its RIGHT ON THE BEACH!! No climbing down a cliff to get to ocean. A great location and outdoor area. For all you people complaining about cleanliness of this place, common sense would bring you solace. Its on the beach. They allow dogs. No its not filthy but it's obviously not going to be pristine.
Upon arrival the house was dirty, and we had to clean it. We even washed the sheets. We fixed the shower head because it would not stay up. Dryer does not work great. I think a bit more patio furniture on front patio would be nice. The table and chairs on the patio were also dirty. We did not clean them. Overall - after we cleaned we had a wonderful time. I was there with my elderly dog and 3 month old great grandson and memories were made. I hope this input will help for future quests. I feel we left the house cleaner than what we found it in. Sincerely, Sherrie Vaughn
The home is stuck in the 70s and not in a retro cool way, but in a gross-un-updated-don’t-touch-the-gross-cabinets way. There was so much dog hair everywhere tufts of it came from under the bed and moved across the room like rodents. No good furniture on deck to enjoy the view (but please bring in the crappy $5 cushions every time your done using them!), no coffee filters (were we supposed to know what kind of cheap crappy coffee maker you had and bring our own?), no extra blankets or beach towels, bedding from Charles Manson’s 1970 garage sale, carpet in second bedroom smells so bad - don’t go in there (could have been used as a second bathroom at one point). Only 3 mismatched wine glasses (one is a very fancy plastic), random-old-useless kitchen utensils purchased from local goodwill, this is also a place where old-broken-run down kitchen appliances go to die. Just in case you wanted to steal some crappy old glass wear, you are out of luck because the cabinet is locked. Be careful on the deck, just looking at it will give you 4 splinters in your butt. That’s if you can get the sliding glass door open. It’s sad that Richard’s family doesn’t want to spend any money maintaining the awesome beach house he left his family, which at one time 50 years ago was obviously awesome. The one star is for the location, but stay at a nicer place across the street, this place is not worth the view.
This is by far the best house we’ve stayed at on the coast. The location of the house was perfect. It was private, quiet, and right on the beach. Great for the dogs to run around. The house was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. Huge fan of the deck to watch the sunset and relax. Can’t wait to come back!
This place was nice and close to the 4th of July action.
Great stay at the coast, house was a time capsules of yester-year
This was the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend!
overall it was great I would have liked clean windows the chain on the window coverings broke when me got there. Everything else was perfectly. Could've use new fry pans. Thank Gail
The location was awesome, steps from the beach. What was less than impressive was the construction site immediately next door that was riddled with garbage, rusty nails, and other debris which our puppy found very delicious. The TV situation was a disaster. The one in the basement is there for show, it isn't connected to any device at all. The one in the living room required quite a bit of time to get working, most of the remotes had corroded batteries. There were many light bulbs out, the ceiling fan didn't work. A fireplace with no wood, a coffee maker with no coffee, cobwebs. I could go on. Basic essentials are the norm for house share situations, clearly the excellent location of this house is enough for the owners to say screw the other stuff. I will not stay here again, there are MANY other rentals on the coast that are better equipped and less expensive.
