If you're not used to staying downtown, please be aware that the neighborhood is vibrant and diverse—reflecting a mix of longtime residents and newer homeowners, as well as a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. This is typical of many downtown areas and part of what makes the area unique and full of character.

Being so close to the city center means you'll enjoy walkable access to restaurants, bars, and local attractions—but also expect some foot traffic and the sounds of an active urban environment.

We live nearby and have always felt very safe here. We truly love this neighborhood and hope you’ll appreciate the history, energy, and charm that come with staying in such a centrally located home.

Guest Access:

Guests have full, private access to the entire home throughout their stay. Enjoy the comfort, convenience, and privacy of having the whole space to yourselves.

The Neighborhood:

️ Located in downtown Raleigh, this home offers the perfect blend of historic charm and easy access to the city’s best attractions. The neighborhood is friendly and walkable, with locals often out for a stroll or enjoying their porches. You’ll be just minutes from Moore Square, Red Hat Amphitheater, Transfer Co. Food Hall, and the many shops, restaurants, and museums that make downtown vibrant.

As in most city neighborhoods, you’ll find a mix of long-time residents and newcomers, from modest-income households to high-end homeowners. Many nearby homes have been beautifully renovated like ours, while others reflect the area’s history and character. Being close to the city center, you may notice more foot traffic from people heading to local hotspots.

Please note: Our 100-year-old home is thoughtfully updated for comfort while preserving its charm. As nearby residents, we feel very safe here and hope you enjoy both the vibrant location and the welcoming community during your stay.

Getting Around:

Getting around is easy from this location. Downtown Raleigh is just a short 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk away. Ride-shares like Uber and Lyft are readily available, and free on-site parking makes it simple if you're bringing a car. RDU Airport is about 20 minutes away by car. While public transit is accessible nearby, most guests find that driving or using ride-share services offers the most convenience for exploring the area.

Other Things to Note:

Note: Quiet hours must be observed (10 PM to 8 AM) as this is a residential neighborhood.

A few older homes remain on the street, adding to the area’s character. We live nearby, feel safe here, and hope you enjoy the changing neighborhood.

Nice interior, clean and well stocked. Exterior lawn was a little overgrown. One of the interior doors is hard to open.

A friend and I needed a place to stay for a concert in Raleigh, and we could not have gotten luckier with Local House. It had easy access to Raleigh’s amenities (a mile or less) and the venue. Great rate and communication with the owners. Would highly recommend when stopping through Raleigh.

The owners were very communicative about a pricing discrepancy from the VRBO listing and what was charged, and the issue was easily resolved. The house came with linens and towels, which was a nice perk. Upon arriving at the house, we were surprised by the surrounding houses on the block. While the listing stated the house was in a diverse neighborhood, the block where this is located is not a location I would have picked due to potential safety concerns from the neighboring homes. While the neighbors did keep to themselves, this is not a family friendly block to stay on. The inside of the house is nice and the owners clearly took a lot of effort to restore the interior. The dishwasher is in need of repair, the mattresses are not comfortable, and practically all of the door handles felt as though they were falling off the door.

My friends and I traveled here for a hockey game. It was about a 15min Uber to the stadium and the neighborhood is central to other popular attractions. The house was clean and had ample space for 4 people.

I rented this place to assist my son after his total hip surgery. The location was great. All rooms were on the first floor. My daughter-in-law, her two kids(teenagers) and their dog came for Thanksgiving dinner. The only complaint was the dishwasher was broken, so we had to wash everything by hand!

We had a lovely stay. The hosts were extremely accomodating allowing us to check-in a little early. Upon arrival, we found the heat was broken and the hosts immeadiately responded dropping off multiple space heaters and sending a technician to fix it at once! They were so kind! The space was wonderful and within walking distance to downtown and many awesome resturants.

The property was quaint and clean. The beds were clean- just not that comfortable. The only issue I had was the location. For a temporary rental / crash pad… this place is fine. But, the properties around were dilapidated. I don’t think I would feel comfortable walking around much in this neighborhood and wouldn’t recommend for couples or families on vacation. The place was fine for my business trip-

My family had a great overnight stay within walking distance to downtown. Great customer service! Sam sent over a wine opener within an hour! Which wasn’t necessary but we appreciated it nonetheless. Cheers

The house was super cute! The neighborhood was a little tricky to find at first, we passed the street but we liked the location. Some of the neighbors had a small party down the street, other than that, wonderful.
