Live out the fairytale vacation of your dreams in our unique A-frame home in McCall, Idaho! Only 9.4 miles from Brundage Mountain and within walking distance to downtown McCall. Have the entire home to yourself with up to 10 guests and 4 dogs. Welcome to all skiers/snowboarders, anglers, hunters, boaters, and anyone who needs a special place to get away from the stressors of life. RV/trailer parking, .46 acre lot, hot tub, wood stove, and frequent animal sightings!

Year-round beauty, uncommonly friendly locals, and abundant opportunities for outdoor activities are what make McCall one of the most magical places we've been to. When we first saw the A-frame home, it felt like something out of a fairytale. Running with that theme, we created a space with the intent of filling guests with childlike wonder. Watching deer graze a few feet away from the windows, cozying up around the wood stove to watch a classic movie, and sitting around the dining table to talk about the activities of the day will make you lose track of time in the best possible sense. Our goal is give people the vacation that they deserve- one with a mix of relaxation, joyful experiences, and the proper setting to connect with the people you care about. We hope you choose The Fairytale House as your vacation destination and that you find it to be as magical as we do.

House Manual

Fee Transparency: The only fees hosts have control over are the cleaning fees and pet fees. We charge $150 per stay for cleaning even though it costs us around $300 per stay to clean, including weekly hot tub cleanings. The pet fee is $50 per stay for up to four dogs for the extra wear and tear on the home. The “guest services fee” is what Airbnb/Vrbo charges and keeps. Taxes are also out of our control, of course. We want to keep fees as low as possible. Unfortunately, McCall is a pricier area when it comes to taxes.

Sleeping Arrangements: We have four bedrooms plus a queen size pull out couch. Four queens and two twin beds total. Please note that one of the upstairs bedrooms is open to the common area and has a divider for privacy. The other three are fully enclosed. Extra blankets and pillows are in a bin by the front door.

Parking and Logistics:
Please park in the main garage, driveway, or along the woodshed on the left side of the house. No parking on the street, as it may result in fines.
RV/trailer parking is available for up to two vehicles. Contact us for more details.
Note: Additional vehicles beyond 4 outside and 1 in the garage will result in a $200 fine.

House Rules:
Smoking: Smoking is not allowed inside the house.
Pets: We allow up to four dogs. Please clean up after them and prevent any damage to the property. There are extra pet towels for dogs in the laundry room. Do wash pets in the showers/tubs, as their nails create scratch marks.
Noise: Respect quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am to maintain a peaceful environment for our neighbors.

Safety and Facilities:
-Please keep wall heaters off when not in use.
-Be cautious with the vintage oven, as it tends to run hot. Be sure to turn it off after you are done.
-Always monitor candle/incense use and ensure they are extinguished before leaving the property.
-There are emergency lights and gas detectors plugged into many of the outlets for your safety. Do not remove these devices.
-Do not lean on exterior railings.
-An exterior camera actively records video and audio at the front porch and driveway for security purposes only.

Additional Information:
-Wildlife, including deer and bears, are common in the area. Do not feed the wildlife, and ensure the bear-proof trash bins are properly closed.
-Enjoy the hot tub and make sure it's covered after use. Extra cleaning due to unsanitary conditions may incur a $250 charge. Extra towels are in the kitchen pantry.
-If excess garbage accumulates, take garbage out to the two brown bins located in front of the garage. Make sure latches are properly closed.
-Use the wood stove for additional heat, following the provided instructions located on the wall by the stove.
-The ash bucket for the wood stove is located outside by the door to the porch off the dining room. Do not place ashes in the trash bins.
-The setback for the wood stove is 14.5 inches. Do not leave any items within that distance from the stove.
-Pullout couch: The mattress topper, sheets, and blankets for the pullout couch are located in a bin next to the couch or by the TV.
-Heating: The furnace runs on propane and will run out of gas very quickly in the winter if the thermostat is set too high. Please keep the settings below 72 degrees. Use wall heaters and wood stove for additional heat at night. Make sure they are shut off when not in use. The wood on the porch off of the dining room is available for you to use.
-Showers and tub: Always test the water temp before getting in the shower/tub. The second level shower has different handles for heat and pressure. Do not pull these out towards you or you will break the handles.
-Reviews: Please be sure to leave us a 5 star review and we will return the favor! If your experience was anything less than 5 stars, reach out to let us know how we can resolve any concerns and improve future stays. Even one 4 star review can hurt future business, so we greatly appreciate your communication and will work to resolve issues immediately.

Check-Out Instructions:
-Clean and put away all dishes
-Leave dirty towels in the bathroom hampers or in a pile on the floor. Leave dirty linens/blankets on the beds.
-Return house keys and garage opener to lockbox.
-Make sure all wall heaters are shut off.
-If the wood stove was used, be sure to sweep up ashes and dump the ash build-up in to the metal bucket located on the porch off of the dining room.

If you have any questions or concerns during your stay, please don't hesitate to reach out. We hope you have a magical and memorable time at the Fairytale House!

Warm regards,
Astra and Austin

Directions for the home and use of the home were great. It was a perfect place for our group of 6 adults, lots of space to stretch out, play games watch tv and cook. The beds were comfy, plenty of blankets for our January stay. The hot tub was amazing, it was so cold out but that didn’t stop us from using it every day. We had everything we needed! We will definitely make plans to stay here again.

What a fun place to stay in McCall! Such a unique and fun home in a perfect, wooded location within walking distance to everything McCall has to offer. We loved the back deck with it's hot tub and plentiful seating. Hosts were incredibly responsive. This would be a great place to stay in any season.

This was the most adorable cabin to stay in. True to the photos, but the photos miss all the perfect attention-to-details decor that we kept discovering throughout our stay. Each room is thoughtfully decorated with the most whimsical art and trinkets. We didn't lack for anything. It was so fun to relax in a hot tub at the end of the day and watch the sunset, bird feeders, and chickadees nesting in the little bird houses. Truly felt like we were in a fairytale. We had seven adults, one toddler, and two dogs and all enjoyed our stay. Astra was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We will definitely be coming back someday! It was within walking distance of town, but we also drove in and it took five minutes. I'd definitely recommend checking out the Pump House bookstore which is down the street from the church. The neighborhood was quiet and pretty.

This space was perfect for our family's Thanksgiving getaway. We enjoyed views of the mountains, lake, deer, and even a fox right from the property. It is a great distance from the center of town. The house was very clean and ready for our group of 9. Communication was quick and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay, great communication, location, and place! It's hot in the summer with no A/C so be aware of that. We would definitely stay again,

This property is amazing! A bit funky and quirky and so much fun! The only minor issue was accessibility for the older members of our family with a few small and narrow staircases that were hard to manage, but we did and would not hesitate to come again in the future. Beautiful stay in a lovely quite neighborhood in a breathtaking location!!

Family and friends enjoyed a unique stay while we skied Brundage and Tamarack mountains. The kids made a sledding run in the backyard with the sleds provided in the garage, built a snowman, loved the deer that came right up to the house. Everyone took time to relax in the hot tub after days of skiing and the oversized bean bag chairs in the family room were a hit. The location was super close to town shops and restaurants. Overall the A frame home with a fire burning stove in the middle made for a cozy, joyful stay!

The pictures weren’t an exact representation, our young daughters were very excited about the once upon a time room, and it didn’t look the same as the photos. The hot tub was fairly dirty. I feel as if the cabin was not cleaned super well in between stays. Overall though, it was a really nice cabin, in a great location.
