Oxford, Mississippi
Only 4 miles from the Ole Miss campus and also from the Oxford Square, this immaculate property in a quaint neighborhood makes THE PERFECT weekend retreat. Take the back way to campus and the Square and avoid the traffic on University Avenue and Jackson Avenue! It is far enough to be away from crowds and noise but very conveniently located with a Kroger, a community grocery, restaurants, gas stations, and liquor stores all nearby.
Charmingly, eclectically decorated, the house features hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, an open floor plan, a gas fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, WiFi, lots of natural light, and 3 porches. There are 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and the house sleeps 7 with sofa.
The property underwent a pandemic redo and has new interior paint, new light fixtures, new rugs, re-upholstered furniture, and new bedding! And it is gorgeous!
The front porch with a swing and rocking chairs is the perfect place for socializing with morning coffee or evening drinks.
The living room has a flat screen TV and a fireplace with gas logs. Sink into the cushy sofa that can comfortably sleep 1 person if needed (98 inches long and 40 inches deep, larger than a twin bed). There is a half bath in the downstairs hallway. The dining table seats 4 and there are 2 stools at the bar for additional seating. The back door opens to a porch, with a gas grill, off of the dining room with extra room for entertaining. The kitchen is fully stocked and has stainless steel appliances including a gas stove, a full refrigerator and freezer with an ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, as well as a Keurig coffee maker.
The master bedroom and master bath are on the main level. There is a beautiful queen size bed in the master bedroom with an adjoining full bath with double sinks and a tub and separate shower. There is a large flat screen TV in the bedroom. A door opens from the master bedroom onto a screened sleeping porch with a twin size bed swing. In the treetops with the breeze from the ceiling fan, it is incredibly peaceful, and is perfect for morning quiet time, reading, or sleeping.
Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms with an adjoining bath. Each of the bedrooms has a double bed and a flat screen TV. There is a laundry room with washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board. In the front bedroom, french doors open to a porch with a hammock just waiting for an afternoon nap.

Super cute home with multiple porches in a really nice neighborhood. Great place to stay if visiting Ole Miss! Owner has great communication. The neighbors are very friendly and welcoming too.
Second time we have stayed here. Perfect set up. House is very nice, clean and decorated so cool. Feels like coming home. Not so sterile.
We had a great time! The house was super clean, comfy, and convenient!
This property is perfect for a football weekend getaway in Oxford. Joy’s place is close to campus, clean, and all you need for your trip is included at the house. Next trip to Oxford we will be staying here again!
We enjoyed our stay so much here. The house was perfect for our party of 6. Location was ideal and booking, check in/out… seamless. The porches for morning coffee or an evening cocktail was icing on the cake! We can’t wait to book here again.
I LOVED this property! It is a gorgeous home-updated and super clean. A short drive to Ole Miss. The check in process was best yet. I would highly recommend it.
Everything was just right.
This home was perfect for our family for our visit to Oxford for college tour of Ole Miss and a game weekend. Just charming and welcoming. It is clear the owner has a happy, peaceful energy as the energy was positive and lovely. Highly recommend.
We were in town with the grandparents for our daughter’s graduation. The property was perfect for our family to visit and enjoy meals together during our trip. We enjoyed everything about the location and would recommend to anyone visiting Oxford.
This is my second time renting in Oxford and so I'm just getting the hang of staying in other people's homes. Joy's is lovely but it is a little awkward to find, located in the back of another subdivision, so don't be alarmed if you arrive late at night and think yourself lost. Do watch out for the deer. This home is closer to the square than campus and will require a car. The swing on the back porch is good for naps. The cats on the front porch are friendly and outnumber the humans. Had a little trouble locating the W/D (instructions were to leave towels inside) but found it upstairs. Would like better instructions on what kitchen items were okay to use -- once again this is an adaptation to staying in someone's personal home. Photos on website are accurate reflection of home.
