Eastham, Massachusetts
Our house was built as part of a cottage colony on the Town Cove in Eastham which is currently still known as Cedarcrest. Since then, CAPE ESCAPE has been updated to include two separate fully furnished units...perfect for a 2 family vacation or multi-generational family reunion. The main house has a modernized large kitchen with kitchen table for 4 as well as a dining room off of the kitchen which seats 6. The spacious master bedroom has its own master bath with jacuzzi tub/stand-up shower and sliding glass door leading to a large deck. There is also a comfortable cot available in the master bedroom. The spare bedroom has 2 twin beds and full bath right down the hall. A spacious living room as well as den right off of the kitchen provides comfortable areas to relax.
The quaint guest apartment, with its separate entrance, has a fully stocked kitchen, bath and 2 bedrooms. A queen bed is in one bedroom with a sliding glass door leading to a backyard deck, and the other bedroom has 2 twins.
There are 2 backyard decks, one off of each side. Perfect for morning coffee or afternoon relaxing after a day at the beach! The larger deck provides ample space for the entire family to enjoy a meal together. Central air on the larger side and a.c. window unit provided for the guest apartment. Great outdoor shower too! Wifi throughout the house and Smart TV's located in all of the sitting areas.
CAPE ESCAPE is part of a private neighborhood association with the only private beach on the Town Cove. We even have a small boat ramp for easy launching of small boats, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. If your boat is under 12 ft, you are also able to tie onto our dock for the length of your stay.
We had a lovely stay in the roomy, clean, beach house. Just a minute walk to a private beach and gorgeous views. Host was amazing
We loved Gail’s sweet cottage, a perfect place to stay for a last-minute Labor Day escape to the Cape for our extended family. The main house and side apartment were charming and pristine. Gail was a very nice, responsive and accommodating host. The location was perfect - a lovely street with a short walk to a private beach, and quite central, with proximity to great beaches, ponds, and yummy restaurants. We hope to be back for a longer rest next time.
We had an amazing time at this property. Our property manager was great. The private beach at the end of the street was a perfect destination for our kids and nephew’s. Location was super convenient to everything. House was a perfect setup for our needs and provided everything anyone would need.
The house was perfect for our family of nine. Loved the outdoor deck, all the space indoors and out. The location for Cape activities was great and Gail was great to work with. Super responsive.
Grandparents and kids and grandkids all had an early summer getaway - house is perfect for the grands to get away from it all. Good location for all the beaches. All the amenities were available which was appreciated when I forgot my toothbrush. Working with Gail was awesome. She generously extended our stay when we had to delay our arrival. Thank you again so much
This was our first vacation to the cape and we cant wait to come back! We loved the Eastham location and being further away from the mainland. There are so many beautiful beaches, trails, and nature in the area. Gail was so helpful and communication about our stay was so easy and immediate. Her house is on a quiet, private residential road that felt so serene. At the end of the street (only 2-3 min walk from the house) there is a dock and little beach area that is great for launching a kayak or getting your feet wet. We didn't actually go swimming there but i would have had no problem doing so as it was very clean. It is also beautiful for stargazing at night and i greatly miss it! The house itself was perfect for our family. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we would need (paper towels, sponge, dish soap, dishes, pans, ketchup packets, etc) and the layout was great. My children had their own room, there was the centrally located dining area, and then a little den off to the side that was great for morning cartoons and games. The outdoor deck was amazing for family dinners. We stayed in the main house and my in-laws stayed in the attached apartment. This was such a unique and awesome aspect, as it allowed them to have some separation and personal down time, while being able to just walk over to our side for family time. As noted in some of the reviews, there is no indoor connection between the two areas, so you have to walk across the deck to get into the main house by the screen door (or from the front door), but this was really not a problem or inconvenience at all - in fact i kind of liked it. Overall, we loved our stay here and definitely recommend it for a good cape escape :)
Gail was amazing and the house was beautiful! Perfect girls weekend. I would absolutely stay here again. Great for large families and the beach was a very short walk down the street.
Gail was very nice to work with and communicated in a timely fashion. The water was nice and enjoyed using our kayaks, and we were only a few mins. from the nice beaches. However, we had some feedback regarding the home: The house was adorable on the outside, but recommend some updates on the interior for guests. The house was located on private road (which is good) but off a very busy road - it was difficult to exit the private road; traffic was very busy. The apartment attached to the house was damp - requires some updating, but a nice feature.
Nice roomy house, close to the water, and very accommodating owner.
Lovely neighborhood, but limited walking access. Dock was great but water is not really clean enough for swimming. Place worked well for a group, but location a bit isolated from activities. Also a negative is all the construction and landscaping activity, made it quite noisy at times.
The Cape Escape exceeded my expectations in every way~ it was spacious, clean, inviting, beautifully decorated and had every amenity you would ever need! The kitchens were stocked with cute coffee mugs, dishes, paper plates and towels, not to mention small appliances and cookware. The yards (both front and back) were beautiful - from the hydrangeas to the spacious wrap-around decks. I took my 4 children who are mostly adults now for their first visit to Cape Cod - a trip I've always wanted to take them on as they grew up in California and I had grown up in Connecticut and spent many summers on the Cape. I thought maybe I had overhyped it, but they were not disappointed, ,especially staying in this beautiful home. The kids said one of their favorite highlights of the trip was when we grilled out and hung out eating and talking on the decks. The private dock access was another outstanding feature that made our trip so special - morning coffee and midnight star gazing on the docks were spectacular! The host was so kind and helpful and made every aspect of our stay entirely memorable.
Convienent to beaches, bike trails, Wellfleet & Provincetown.
Gail was a pleasure to work with and responded fast to my messages. The property is located on a small street that ends with a beautiful river and a small pier. Stop and shop is less than 10 minutes away, as well as a few bike rentals and a miniature golf. We are looking forward to come back.
