I did not stay here. You took money from me from. Place I did not want to stay at
house was great. yard was bad.
We chose this house so we could visit the sites in South Dakota! We needed a pet friendly 3 bedroom house and Custer was a good location for us as we worked our way to our final destination - Yellowstone.
our stay was very pleasant... Overall the property was as described and very clean. Moving the table to the kitchen and adding more seating options to the living area would have been nice. the location was great, the yard was not great for young children to play in or be outside. The adjacent mobile home park was run down, and a bit on the sketchy side.
Updated, clean, and very roomy inside, but could use some work on the curb appeal
House was ok. Bad water. Bring bottled water. Location not very nice.
I’m sorry to say that we were disappointed with our stay. There was a water issue, undrinkable to say the least. We bought water jugs to cook with and bottles for drinking. When showering the smell was awful. I couldn’t use the tub to bathe our children because it was stained and dirty. The master shower door was falling down, and the entire shower was also stained. The toilets were stained, the dishes were stained. The house had a smoke/urine smell to it. The location wasn’t good, it is close to Custer State Park but was in a run down area and had a massive dumpster in the front.
It is, indeed, right on the Mickelson trail, which makes daily access amazing and the place was well cleaned on arrival. The property is a trailer/modular home - and separated from but overlooking - a trailer park. The driveway is dirt and the view of the open space is real, if you look only one direction. The other directions are views of the highway and other trailers. Aside from some permanent staining in the two showers (the tub is clean as can be) the location was well cleaned, the AC rocked and it offered a big space for families. The kitchen is large providing lots of prep/storage space, though not all 7 of us could sit at the main table at the same time. From our perspective it was a great location as a jumping-off point for daily activities but the surroundings made hanging out around the property not preferred.
The property was horrible. Among other things, the master bed was unmade and had yellow stains all over the sheets. Shower and toilets looked disgusting. We made attempts to contact the property manager by phone and writing and were ignored. We would not stay there and booked a hotel. Manager would not respond to VRBO about our complaints. We are now seeking a refund.
This rental is a great location if you are planning to visit Custer state park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy horse. Badlands national park and Devils tower are a day trip.
