Peacefull River Home

We absolutely love this house. It’s very homely and well taken care of in a great area.

This is a very peaceful place and the riverside setting on a quiet piece of road is nice. I liked that the bedrooms were on either side of the cabin and the privacy that provided. The kitchen was well supplied and it was easy to use. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Thanks!

Great location. The cabin is perfect for a small group, the screened in porch was a huge hit.It even had a small bedroom with a loveseat and desk if you needed to do a little work while away. The kitchen is small but had everything you needed, good quality pots and pans, nice dishes and glassware. Definitely would recommend and visit again.

Everything was exactly as listed. Well stocked kitchen and pantry with everything needed. Well furnished, clean and comfortable. Nearby recreational options (Black Bear Park on Lake James)) and hiking trails are very near & better than advertised. We all enjoyed a quiet, restful scenic spring visit.

Cute home on the river. VERY clean, smelled wonderful. Kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Only thing for me is I’m an unpacker and it drove me crazy having to keep dry goods on the countertop because there was nowhere to put them. But obviously not a dealbreaker! I thoroughly enjoyed this home and definitely plan to be back!

Beautiful house, great host

The photos do a great job representing this home, it’s a small, comfortable, beautiful home that my family and I enjoyed for Christmas! Our favorite part was the back screened porch with a fire pit table! We spent a tremendous amount of time feeling cozy and enjoying the quiet of the wildlife protected area across the water! The road does run just in front of the house but we did not find it to be too noisy aside from the occasional motorcycle or loud truck. We loved our time at this property and would definitely return!

Barton was outstanding to communicate with before our stay. Everything was perfect for our family of four. We enjoyed exploring the Marion and hikes nearby. We hope add this place on the list to stay again. Thank you

Absolutely love the little house. It was pet friendly so we were able to bring our cats and they absolutely love the screened in porch. As did my husband and I watching the river from the house was amazing. We even got to see one of the birds of prey, catch a fish. We were able to go from the house to multiple hiking spots and just have a great weekend.

We very much enjoyed our stay here, and found everything clean and welcoming. The back porch was a favorite hang out spot for my family.

If you want a peaceful retreat then look no further! This is your spot! The house is perfectly clean and well appointed. My favorite spot for a morning cup of coffee was the screened in porch looking out at the river. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend our time allotted there and had to leave early.

Our party of 6 enjoyed our stay at this cute little cabin right on the Catawba River. We had plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed. There were plenty of linens. The little screened porch with the fire pit table was a great place to sit and relax. We appreciated the easy check-in, but check-out even more. There was no long list of chores that had to be completed before we left. We had a hearty breakfast from Bessie’s Diner and Blanton House was amazing.

Excellent stay and lovely property. Wonderful place to join our family and friends for the weekend. The open floor plan was perfect for our needs. We loved playing board games on the covered porch and deck.

This house was perfect! We had 5 adults and our dog with us and it did not feel cramped at all. We enjoyed cooking every night and breakfast. Kitchen was well equipped!We did a cold plunge in the lake too! Within a 45 minute drive to Asheville and waterfall hikes!We had a blast and intend to return!

We loved the House it was very comfortable and clean . The Screened in Porch was great . The House was very close to all the Attractions we wanted to visit along with many restaurants and Grocery stores .

Nice little cottage near Lake James

The home was just what we needed for a quiet weekend.

Amazing, beautiful, quiet, private cabin setting on the river by Lake James. Screened in deck overlooking the river kept the bugs away. Barton and Marsha were incredible host. HIGHLEY RECOMMEND Marsha's chef service. Her meals are super delicious and she delivers right to the cabin. Everything was so clean and well laid out!! We plan to come back!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the convenient access to kayaking on the river and being minutes from the marina. We’ll definitely be back!

We enjoyed our extended weekend in the peaceful little house on the river! We were able to access some hiking trails with a little drive. The kayaks at the property were an added bonus. Great screened in porch too!

Great place! Nice layout with view of the river. Loved the screened porch area and spent as much time there as anywhere! Very clean, comfortable beds, easy check in and the kayaks are a nice bonus! Definitely recommend if traveling to that area.
