Stayed Aug 31, 2024Our family rates vacation properties by the ratio of wine openers to cheese graters. Hear me out. If there are just wine openers, the place tends to be a party place. If there are no cheese graters, there tends to not be amenities to really cook there. This place had the perfect ratio of two cork screws to one cheese grater. It's a short walk to a market, short walk to downtown. It was the easiest check-in ever, and the property manager was great! There was plenty of space for us to spread out and really unwind!

Stayed Aug 7, 2022The house was very shabby and uncomfortable. Sofa in front room covered with stains, window air conditioner units in very ugly raw plywood supports, window blinds broken and ragged, broken down car on driveway in front of house was an eyesore. Yard unkempt. The house just needs a lot of TLC. We were able to find another much more suitable house to move into and have requested a partial refund.

Stayed Aug 2, 2022Pros inside clean and water very hot great location in oak bluffs Cons Property looked abandoned. We drove by it initially thinking this can't be the property. Inside there were not enough kitchen supplies. The furniture had stains. The plumbing pipes in the kitchen sink were not connected properly and when we let out the dish water it went all over the floor. Also as the previous reviewer stated there were no clean dish towels or sponge. Yuk! The light in the master and twin bedroom did not work properly. The owner is still requiring guest to bring own linens, in my opinion so she has to do less work in washing the linens. High occurrences of Covid are no longer an issue. The dryer did not work and the owner offered a drying rack to dry our clothes as if this is what we came on vacation to do and as if we want to dry off with rough towels. She didn't even purchase the drying rack, the previous tenant did. She informed me the dryer did not work the day before we were arriving and said it would not be repaired or replaced while we were there. The backyard was the worst. There were old tires, ladders, burnt charcoal, old windows, stinky trash, beer bottles an old abandoned car and other misc trash all over the yard. The property manager does not answer the owners calls because he has advised the owner many times to clean up the property but she refuses to do so. He doesn't like to go the extra mile for her because according to him she doesn't like to pay him on time. The first thing the property manager said when I opened the door was Im so sick of her. I know availability is limited in MV especially last minute, but if you can find other accommodations I would. In all fairness, you can still stay and have a good time especially if you don't plan to spend a lot of time at the house, because as I said the inside was clean. We just put a quilt over the sofas. I wrote this long review so other renters would be aware of the property conditions. I would post pictures if that option was available.

Stayed Jul 18, 2022Pros: is on MV and could sleep 6 comfortably. Has working NetFlix account and one puzzle to keep you busy in case it rains. The bedding is new. The property owner and property owner were nice. Cons: other than the basics about sleeping arrangements and property location the description is not accurate. This is clearly a property in transition and there were issues that never should have existed. A ‘fully equipped kitchen’ that doesn’t include a cutting board, mixing bowls, rubber spatula, scissors, etc. is not fully equipped. Also, I’ve rented enough homes to expect that trash bags, a new sponge, and wraps, foils, basic cleaning supplies, etc. should be included. Not at this house! Not to mention, the only dishwasher in this ‘fully equipped kitchen’ is you! The grill is charcoal, no mention if this, I wasn’t paying island prices for a bag of charcoal so no grilling for us. There was half of a waterlogged bag on the lawn along with an old broken patio set. There is a also new table and 4 chairs. Again, clearly a property in transition. Saying that beach chairs are included is misleading. There were 3 chaise lawn chairs which would be too heavy to lug down to the beach, and 1 child sized chair along with 2 sit in the sand style chairs. The AC is window units, not pictured in either property photo, are held in place by unpainted plywood. The property manager described the look as ‘ghetto’, I agree. Pro: they worked. The dryer is also not as advertised. I had to dry a load 4 times to get it dried. Property manager said it should not be listed since it doesn’t work properly. The spacious driveway is as spacious as advertised. Not advertised (or pictured) is the old Ford Taurus wagon parked there half under a cover. Both bathrooms were recently renovated, clearly this property is in transition. However, they cut corners. The tub in the hall bathroom has so much worn in dirt that we didn’t use it. The property manager described it as ‘gross’. The vanity lights in the master flickered all week, if they even worked. The overhead light didn’t work. Finally, and most concerning, were the stains all over both couches. The property manager brought over sheets on day 2 of my stay to cover them. 2 of the bedroom pillows were stained, one with blood, one with who knows what. This was also remedied on day 2, but left me feeling terrible about the property and throughly doubting the ‘extensive cleaning’.

Stayed Jul 24, 2022We rented this property knowing it was going to be a mid century ( not updated) home , but wanted the location and amount of rooms. When we pulled in, there was a brokendown station wagon in the driveway with a tarp over it, a broken door behind it on the ground, beer bottles and just random items like gloves and trash throughout the yard. In the back yard there was charcoal all over the ground, like someone knocked it over, overflowing trash containers and another tarp in the lawn. Once in the home, the two living room couches were covered with stains. There was about four pumps of soap left in soap dispensers in each bathroom, the master toilet was broken, and the twin room has mold all throughout the window. No windows could open, and though there were air conditioners in the rooms, they were locked in place with plywood. Literally plywood in every bedroom window. There was a dirty sponge next to the kitchen sink, no paper towels, no napkins, no trash bags. Minimal plates and silverware ( not enough for 5 or more if you’re in a larger group). Almost every rental I have ever stayed in supplies some basics or explains what you need to bring, and I wish I knew we would need everything for this place (including blankets if you want a layer to sleep with). I was able to fix the toilet, buy what we needed, and just spent as little time there as we could. I loved the location as it was so close to everything. This could be a beautiful home if some care was taken with the property, a coat of paint, some slip covers, and some TLC with the yard.

Stayed Sep 2, 2021As it says, a peaceful place just outside the hustle and bustle of Oak Bluffs, but easily walkable to town and beach. Plenty of space and parking. Just remember to bring your own sheets and towels.

Stayed Aug 22, 2021As an active family of four, we found the space we needed for ourselves and our stuff at this property. We wanted access to our favorite Oak Bluffs activities and this house enabled us to easily walk or bike to the places we like to eat and play over the summer. We ran into some issues with mother nature during our stay but we communicated often with the host and the property manager and did our best to get past hiccups. There were some parts of the property where it looked like work was in progress, like screen door panels being replaced but nothing that got in our way. We would stay here again.

Stayed Jul 27, 2021Had a wonderful time, very reasonably priced. We brought our own linens as this was clearly explained in the listing. The owner and property manager were very responsive in the days leading up to our stay and during our stay. The owner allowed us to change our plans slightly also after our initial booking. Very conveniently located on the island.
